Gotta love the duality of man, today my DnD party:

Made a ‘good, you’re finally awake’ joke right out the gate at the beginning of the session at the player whose been absent from the past few sessions (ie ‘unconscious’)

shipped a giant turtle and a dragon, only one of whom actually exists in game. It was a hypothetical dragon. And yet, we are more invested in this fake relationship than half the NPCs. They have lore now.

all magically adopted one another in a couple of different cultural ways. It was a beautiful moment we’d been building to for literally two years. Some of us nearly cried.

frightened a nameless NPC within an inch of his life for basically no reason- I just wanted to reestablish how Uncanny and Weird we are in relation to the outside world, it’s been a while since we interacted with normal people.

everyone lied to my character’s face about a: what asparagus was and b: what an octopus was. She’s a bit sheltered and the party isn’t doing her any favors. Asparagus is apparently a common code word like ‘gabberwock’ and octopus apparently wear boots and are the same thing as jellyfish, neither of which she has ever seen or heard of before.

Barely convinced our ride (giant turtle) not to demolish a small fishing village.

Consensually tied up two of the party members for Legitimate Reasons (didn’t stop the jokes)

“X needs a legacy, something that will live in when he is gone. And for that, he needs heirs. We need to get him a wife!” *camera pans to X, a rogue, attachment issues out the Wazoo, no interest in women, motivated almost entirely by money and personal safety with absolutely no desire for a legacy* ……….

i made wild rice and bass for dinner.
