Do you know what you REALLY need for your hospital bag?
I must have read a million advice boards on what you should bring during your hospital stay after your delivery. After my stay, heres a list of what you’ll actually need and want!
For you:
Nursing bra! (Between all your visitors coming in an out you wont want to sacrifice telling them to get out while you feed your new baby. With a nursing bra you can avoid the awkwardness of your entire boob out in front of your uncles)
A Robe! (Unless you find hospital robes super sexy, bringing your own can make you feel more human, plus you can be shirtless underneath keeping it comfy for feedings and nurse checkups )
loose top & Leggings -if its cold out
loose Dress - if its hot out ( for your trip home you’ll want to be super comfy and relaxed. Keep in mind you will have a huge pad on and will still look like 3 months prego so plan your wardrobe accordingly!
Then all the obvious stuff like your charger and phone. Might want to pack some chips and what not for night time munchies
For the hubby:
A Clean shirt! (Sound really stupid right? But think about it, you don’t know when you’ll go into labor. What if he’s at the gym and comes straight from there! or just came from a hands on kinda job! )
Comfy sweats!( If he’s spending the night, those oh so fashionable straight cut jeans will not be so comfortable to sleep in for 2 days.)
Deodorant....for obvious reasons for your nervous and sweaty new daddy
For the Baby:
Adorable coming home outfit ( Maybe 2 if you can’t decide)
Hat ( If you don’t want the baby in that hospital hat)
SOCKS!! ( The hospital is cold bro and they don’t give your baby socks, They say to just keep them swaddles but if your baby likes to kick no swaddle with contain those feet!)
WIPES! <--- ( not sure if it was just my hospital {Brooklyn Hospital} but they give you these super dry bounty looking napkins to wipe your new babys butt....So not happening. Be sure to pack some wipes just incase)
If Breastfeeding Bringing a Breastfeeding pillow. Its completely optional but was really nice to have. Remember, you and your baby are trying to figure out how to get it right so anything that can keep things comfortable for the both of you it key!
And thats it!! Happy Packing! Don’t go crazy <3
