Just a heads up- the comic might be delayed even longer than planned due to this. I had planned to start the actual comic once my schedule clears up (I'm currently working a summer job), but had everything planned out and ready for me to start working on it as soon as I was able to commit to it. Now everything I had for it is gone. Sure I remember most of it, but there's so many things I'm going to have to re-plan if I can't fix this. I'm so so sorry.

I think my notes app got corrupted which means I've lost everything there is in my projects. All of my D&D sheets? Gone. All of my book wips? Gone. All of the plans and timelines and information I had written up for @moms-swapped? Gone. I'm really struggling to keep myself together right now hahahahaha

Slight spoilers regarding the newest episode (ignore if you haven't watched Fragments yet): considering that Jasper still gets corrupted here, does this mean that eventually, like in canon, she's gonna end up getting oofed?

I noticed that Spinel doesn't have tear marks? Is that on purpose? Does he ever get them?

Yep indeedy, Spinel's lack of runny mascara was on purpose! Sure, he had been abandoned by Pink (Peeps had been too), but Rose was there to comfort him and help him make new friends. Not to mention, Spinel was already part of the Crystal Gems by the time Pink Diamond was "shattered", so while he was still heartbroken that his oldest friend was presumably dead, he was detached from Pink enough to know that it was for the best and that Pink was not truly the happy jokester that he had thought she was when he served her. And yes, he will get runny mascara somewhere within the comic. I hope y'all like angst lmao.

How is Jasper uncorrupted? Did Steven work with the diamonds to cure her? How much is different, on a scale from 1-10?

Jasper had some help from Rose back when the corruption blast first occurred!! And nope, the Diamonds most likely couldn't help any more than Rose already did! And I'd say that for it being different on a scale of 1-10, I'd say that it'd be about a 4-6? I dunno, I still have a lot to work on!! The major plot points are relatively similar, as it's stuff that can't be cut out or else the story falls apart, but there should be quite a bit of adventures that are different and the way the characters would react to canon situations can lead to vastly different outcomes! :3

Heya, sorry this blog hasn't been too active recently, I'm in the process of moving all the way from Washington to Minnesota by myself at 15-16 years old, I had only two months notice, and I have until April 11th to leave for good. Plus my art tablet is literally falling apart as I've had it for over five years now so I can't draw as much as I'd like. I've been extremely busy, and it's made it hard to work on this comic. However, I will try my best to work on it more when I have time. Thank you all so so very much for your patience, and I'd love to keep interacting with you guys whenever possible. Heya,, I'm working on some concepts for my new SU "momswap" au!! Whaddya think of these so far?? (The AU in question is where Steven is raised by Spinel, Pink Pearl, and Jasper!! It's not a one-on-one switch though, they're not replacing any certain roles. Think, like, the White Diamond Steven AU comic! It's its own separate story :3 and yes, there's a reason Pink Pearl is in human clothes, but I don't wanna spoil anything until I get more work done on the AU)

Working on my momswap au some more and just want to give everybody a heads up that Spinel and Pink Pearl use different pronouns than they do in canon!! Please try not to misgender them when talking about my momswap au please!! Spinel is a he/him lesbian, and Pink Pearl uses fae/faer pronouns!! Also fae's bisexual so even though fae and Spinel are dating please don't call faer a lesbian, thank you!!

I saw the pronouns post regarding your Momswap au, and I was hoping you could clear something up for me. What's the difference between a he/him lesbian and a straight man? I don't mean to sound rude, I'm just really, REALLY stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff.

You're not stupid!! Here, I screenshotted the definition because it can explain it way better than I can:

So yeah, momswap Spinel is still a lesbian because he's a girl that is exclusively attracted to girls!! Whereas a straight man is a man that is exclusively attracted to girls! Gender ≠ pronouns! So while straight men and he/him lesbians share pronouns and are both attracted to girls, they're different genders and have very different experiences!! I'm sorry if I didn't explain this very well, I hope this helped!!

Yep!! Jasper isn't really looking for a relationship at the moment as she's too busy bench pressing entire buildings lol, but she's a nb lesbian like most gems!! Spinel and Peeps hang out in Beach City a lot with Steven (Peeps more than Spinel, Spinel only really goes to Funland) so they've had more experience being around people of other genders and sexualities and have found out what's most comfortable for them!! But even if Jasper did like hanging out with humans, she's perfectly proud and happy with who she is! :3

Who do the other Crystal Gems (Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth) swap with? Or do they stay the same?

Well, the story isn't actually a one-on-one switch! Spinel, Peeps, and Jasper all have their own reasons for joining the Crystal Gems, and Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl will come into the story in their own ways!! Peridot does come into the story like she does in canon- to check up on the cluster and to fix the Galaxy Warp- and the gems keep thwarting her attempts. Bismuth will come in as backup for Peri (I'll go into more detail later ;3) and Lapis- since Pearl wasn't there to pick her up- was still stuck in the mirror over there, semi-hidden under rubble. Again, you'll find out what happens to her once I work on the comic some more!! I'm still figuring out a few snags in the story and working out a timeline to keep me focused, and then I should hopefully be able to start working on the comic once I get everything figured out!! :3

What are the fusions between the Crystal Gems called here, and what are they like?

The fusion between Spinel and Peeps is the only one I have a sketch of so far, the others are just concepts that I'm still trying to find designs I'm happy with!

Spinel and Peeps' fusion is called Rhodochrosite (they/them)!! They are INCREDIBLY impulsive and very much follow their heart- their brain, not so much. They're very ditzy and scatterbrained and treat everything like a game, which can be impractical at times, but allows them to be very energetic and agile which can be useful in combat. Their weapon is a mixture of Spinel's cartoon-mallet-esque Warhammer and Peeps' ribbon whip, a set of chain maces!

Spinel and Jasper make Dragon's Breath Opal (they/them)!! They aren't so impulsive, but if something ticks them off- RUN. You do not want to get them mad because they CAN and WILL crush you. But when they're not mad, they're relatively chill and a great person to talk to if you need a kind but stern therapy session. Their weapon is a horseman's pick!

Peeps and Jasper make Wonderstone (they/them)!! They're the least compatible of the three fusions- their two mouths constantly bicker with one another when it comes to decision making. But when they agree on something, they give their all to make sure it's done, and done well. Peeps has the brains and Jasper has the brawn, making them a great team in dire situations. They rarely fuse unless it's for a very good reason due to their arguments. Their weapon is a chain scythe!

What’s the story behind Jasper’s corruption scars?

You know how Steven was able to mostly cure Centi/Nephrite, and tried to help Jasper but the only reason she fully corrupted was because she refused his help? Let's just say she was a little bit more accepting of Rose's help. As Rose is only one diamond, she couldn't completely heal Jasper, but she got Jasper to her healing fountain in time to stop it from spreading too far. But I don't want to spoil everything about Jasper, now would I? So I'll leave that as that regarding her corruption scars
