Bernd Talasch: “Forget every other person you were here to see - if you’re under the age of 30 (50?) and female (and not necessarily female), you too would have screamed loudest for Timothée Chalamet - most recently in the movie ‘Beautiful Boy’ whose BFI London Film Festival attendance resulted in pandemonium not last seen since my train company last had a service meltdown. Quite a lot more people were visibly shaking (not just screaming) at his cheerful approach. Of all the people who arrived, nobody signed and posed for more people than Timothee Chalamet at this event. (...) (he) crossed to the other side of the road to greet fans too. Impressive.”

Do you have any new crushes?
“I once said Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. But I’m gay, so my crushes may have shifted a little bit. I feel that if you’re into ’90s Leo, you might be on the path to being gay; he might be your entry point. When I look at all the boys that I thought were hot when I was younger, they all look like pretty girls. I was just in denial that I really wanted them all to have titties. So, now, if you’re into Timothée Chalamet, you could be gay. He’s a very pretty boy.” Amandla Stenberg for W Magazine.

Timothée Chalamet will receive the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s spotlight award for an actor for his role in “Beautiful Boy.”
He will be honored at the festival’s film awards gala on Jan. 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. “Timothee Chalamet gives a heartwarming, but tragic performance as a young man struggling with drug addiction in the film ‘Beautiful Boy,'” said festival chairman Harold Matzner. “Last year Timothée was the recipient of the festival’s rising star award for his role in ‘Call Me by Your Name.’ He is definitely a rising star.” Past recipients of the spotlight award include Bryan Cranston, Andrew Garfield, Sam Rockwell, and J.K. Simmons. All honorees received Academy Award nominations in the year they were recognized, with Rockwell and Simmons winning best supporting actor Oscars.

“Wes Anderson’s next live-action movie started shooting a week ago under wraps in Southwestern France (Angoulême), where local French papers have reported various sightings. According to one source close to the production, “The French Dispatch” is a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th-century Paris and centers on three storylines. As usual the movie features a mighty ensemble including regulars Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Tilda Swinton (who currently stars in “Suspiria”) plus newcomers Benicio del Toro and Oscar contender Timothée Chalamet (“Beautiful Boy”). When asked to confirm his casting at an Amazon Studios party celebrating “Beautiful Boy,” Chalamet threw his hands in the air and giggled.” - IndieWire

“Chalamet exists in this weird zone, where he is so authentic that he almost sticks out in every movie he’s in. I don’t wanna overhype this dude, but he’s literally a few roles away from hitting all-time great status as an actor. In this movie he IS Nick Sheff. He is a ball of angst, and confusion, and anxiety, and he is a magnet for compassion no matter how many times he fucks up; because we’re not seeing a character, we’re seeing a real person. There’s absolutely nothing manipulative about his performance, it’s just utterly authentic, through and through.” - Breaking Banter review of Beautiful Boy on YT.
