Sanders Sides Ships in July is going on for anyone interested in creating something for the prompts. (I haven’t been announcing the prompts each day on here because that would be a lot and this event doesn’t have a blog specifically for it)

Hi! If you saw and/or participated in my Sanders Sides Shipmas event back in December of 2024, then you’ll probably find this event familiar. Basically, I created a list of prompts for July based on summer related activities and paired them each with a Sanders Sides ship. You can use these prompts to create fanart, fanfiction, moodboards, cosplay posts, etc. Posts can be submitted on Instagram and/or Tumblr. I’ve seen other people in the Sanders Sides fandom talk about their feelings about Thomas Sanders as a content creator and I thought I’d share mine.

Honestly, as a content creator I don’t idolize Thomas as much as I used to. After seeing him not support the artists he hires properly (ex: Story Time Madlibs & Brei Grace), I don’t think he’s a completely amazing guy (at least in terms of his job and doing business with others).

I also don’t like how Thomas doesn’t exactly communicate well about the status of Sanders Sides. He posts photo updates and still releases random Side videos not related to the season finale, so I guess he’s at least providing some content for Sanders Sides fans. But it’s still not the finale which he’s been working on for a while. If he’s still struggling with writing the finale, it would be nice if he just said so. Or if he doesn’t feel like he can continue the series, I wish he would just say so. I’d just like to hear a honest answer about the state of Sanders Sides, so I don’t have to keep having to wait aimlessly for a finale that might not happen anytime soon or at all, you know?

I still really enjoy Sanders Sides for what the canon episodes and asides provide though, as well as the characters, so I still follow Thomas for updates, make my own fan content, and enjoy looking at other fans content. So I don’t plan on leaving the fandom or anything like that. But I did stop tagging Thomas in my posts and trying to get his attention on my fanart. Since he didn’t exactly properly appreciate artists that worked with him in the past, I don’t want him to see my art as much as I used to. I guess you can say I like thinking of Sanders Sides as separate from its creator. So Character Thomas is also seen as very separate from actual Thomas in my mind as well. The Sanders Sides characters just mean a lot to me, and in my mind I like to imagine them as being my characters rather than actual Thomas’. I know they’ll always be Thomas’ at the end of the day, but imagining the separation helps me enjoy the series for what it is.
