“So YOU’RE Donghyuck”

Hi, bbys!!! This idea is not mine, the user @/1haechan posted the idea on twitter and said people could use it so, here we are hehe! This is also my first member x member fic and of course I had to go with my babies markhyuck!! This is based also on this video,,, Lucas is a dumbass but we love him anyway,,

Synopsis: Lucas could be dumb, like really dumb but sometimes, haechan is thankful for it.

Lucas was torn.

It wasn’t every day that you found out your friends crush, and also best friend liked someone else. It all started when Mark texted Lucas asking to grab a coffee so they could have a chat. This confused Lucas because one, Mark hated coffee and two, they lived in the same fucking house, why could they not just talk there? Lucas obliged anyway, deciding he could use some time away from the dorm. When he arrived Mark was sitting in the corner seat, bitting on the straw of his ice fruit tea. Mark had a habit of doing that when he was nervous. The conversation started pretty normal, as normal as it can get when Mark looked like he was about to shit his pants any second.

“So, why did you bring me here dude? What was soooo important that you had to talk to me out of the dorms? You gonna confess to me or something?”

Mark let out a small laugh at that, his face turning bright red. Lucas was the first person Mark told that he was gay and ever since Lucas liked to joke that Mark was in love with him, much to Mark’s annoyance.

“You wish Lucas, but you’re along the right lines. I have a crush.”

Lucas picked up his drink, taking a long sip,

“Do spill the tea Markus”

“I like Donghyuck”

And that’s where It went wrong for Lucas. See Lucas also happened to know that another one of their band members, Haechan, liked Mark. So for the rest of their time at the cafe, Mark sat talking about this ‘Donghyuck’, listing every reason he loved him, from his eyes to his laugh whilst Lucas thought about what the fuck he was going to say to Haechan when he got back.

Lucas kept Mark’s secret under wraps for the next few days whilst he decided what to do. His first idea was to tell Mark about Haechan, but he knew Haechan would kick his ass and he wasn’t about to get all his bones broken by the younger boy. His second was to confront this ‘Donghyuck’ guy and give him a piece of his mind, but then he realised, he had no fucking clue who this guy was and quite frankly, he didn’t want Mark to hate him for the rest of eternity for beating up his new man. So he settled on telling the younger boy about Marks new crush, this way Mark would never have to know about Haechan’s crush and he could get over it on his own.

Once he decided on his plan, he wasted no time in executing it,

“HAECHAN WE NEED TO TALK”

“Woah Lucas what the fuck dude you can’t just barg-”

“MARK HAS A CRUSH ON SOME GUY”

At that moment Lucas wished he wasn’t so energetic and loud sometimes because watching Haechan’s face fall was probably the worst thing he’d seen in a long time.

“Hey dude, I’m sorry. I should have handled that better, it’s just, I’ve been thinking about this for the last couple of days and once I finally thought of a plan I-”

“Who is it?”

“Wah, well I,, um,, does it really matter? Is it really going to-”

“Wong Yukehi, do NOT fuck with me right now. Tell me who Mark likes or I will break every single one of those bones in that dumb body of yours”

Haechan was mad. Like really mad, and when Haechan was mad, it ended one of two ways:

1. He uses violence.

The first time Lucas witnessed this was when Jisung broke Haechan’s Xbox controller. To cut a long story short, it was a good thing Taeyong was between the two boys because it would have ended in broken bones and they wouldn’t have been Haechan’s.

2. He cries.

Lucas had only witnessed this option once when Haechan found out they would be in Japan for his mothers birthday and if Lucas was honest, he would take the first option any day over the second.

The problem was, Lucas was not looking to get punched today. So reluctantly, Lucas told him.

“I really do not see how this is going to help BUT, if you must know, he likes some guy called Donghyuck. I’ve never heard of him before but I SWEAR once I find out who he is I’m gonna beat his ass for you ok?”

“oh…”

The boys sat in silence for a while. Lucas trying to think of a response and he could only assume Haechan was trying to process the information he just learnt.

“Tell me what he said.”

“Wait what? No that’s really not a good id-”

“Tell me.”

Haechan had a look on his face that for once, Lucas couldn’t read and that made him even more nervous. So with a large gulp, Lucas told him everything Mark said, word for word. He told him about his eyes, how he loved his laugh and even the ‘cute’ little mole he had at the base of his neck. Once he was finished, Haechan had that same unreadable look on his face, filling Lucas with worry, causing him to brace himself for the incoming punch he thought he was going to receive.

Except for that punch never came, instead, the younger boy spoke,

“Lucas. See that black box in the corner there? Bring it here.”

Lucas was confused, but obliged, not wanting to upset the younger boy anymore. He picked up the box which looked to be a small document holder and placed it on the floor in front of them.

“Open it.”

Lucas gave Haechan a confused look, wondering what the hell this has to do with Mark liking another guy.

“It’s just filled with a bunch of paperwork?”

“Third compartment”

Lucas put his hand in a pulled out a passport.

“Ok Haechan, now you’ve got me confused. What the fuck does this have to do with your heart being broken by mark?”

“Open it.”

Lucas opened it, flicking it to the page that contained Haechan’s baby photo.

“Ok Haechan you’ve really lost me. It’s a cute baby picture but what has this got to do wi-”

“Read the name.”

“Lee Donghyuck? Now please explain…. oh,,,,,,OH!”

At that was the moment it hit him. He stood up in shock. There it was printed in black and white: Lee Donghyuck. Haechan was Donghyuck and Donghyuck was Haechan. They had been friends for 3 years and Lucas didn’t even know his real name. Haechan just sat with a smirk on his face whilst he watched Lucas go through an array of emotions.

Eventually, the younger boy stood and walked up to Lucas, patting him on the shoulder.

“It’s ok, I never mentioned it because well, I thought you knew.”

“So YOU’RE Donghyuck! I can believe I didn’t know. Sorry for threatening to punch you dude.”

“It’s ok, you were just looking out for me. Now on an unrelated note have you seen Minhyung? I think we need to have a chat.”

“Who’s Minhyung?”

Mark doesn't necessarily strike me as the massively physically affectionate type

at least in front of others anyway

but mark can't hide his emotions very well

so his fondness still comes across but in more subtle ways

he looks at you like his world... laughs just that bit harder at your jokes

Your name in his phone is the only one with emojis next to it and with a contact photo

His lock screen is also 100% a candid photo of you and he's defo the type to just,,, smile at it sometimes

He'd also DIE to have matching home screens

even more so if they made a full picture when you put your phones together

He definitely prefers to text because its quick, easy and far less awkward,,, but with you he always calls

he just,, likes to hear your voice

and unbeknownst to you he's always smiling on the other end

the only time he's super physically affectionate is when he's sleepy

but when you encourage him it warms his heart a lot

because he always felt like no one would really care enough to listen to him talk about how he feels

until he gets comfortable and then he'll have no problem ranting to you about stuff

“Thoughts on leather jackets?”

Yeeun hoists herself onto the scratched counter of the tiny bathroom, cheap neon strips of flashing lights pasted around the edges of the ceiling and the booming bass of the music barely muffled by the closed door. She swings her legs, the heels of her boots banging lightly against the cabinet beneath her.

“They’re cute. Why? Don’t you already have like, three of them?” Your fingers curl around the lip gloss your best friend offers to you. You thank her before you lean forward, uncapping the makeup and spreading an even, glossy coat over your lips.

“Not on me!” She taps her manicured fingers against her thigh rhythmically. “Actually, maybe on me. There’s a really good sale going on at Madewell right now. Maybe I’ll get one.”

“Another night of drunk retail therapy?” You pucker your lips, angling your face slightly to check that you had applied enough of the shimmery gloss. You quickly adjust the satin white crop top you have on that makes your boobs look phenomenal. Perfect. It’s the first party of your final year at university, and you would very much like to start it off with a bang and leave with a cute guy tonight.

“Sober me will thank me tomorrow.” She waves her hand dismissively before taking back the gloss from you and shoving it unceremoniously into her bra (because one hand holding a purse means one less hand holding a drink) before pushing herself off from her counter perch. “Anyway, you’re missing the point! You narrow your eyes at her, scrutinizing her fidgeting figure through the mirror. “Alright, spill it. Who’s this about?”

“I overheard Mark telling Yukhei that Jeno was asking about you.”

You temporarily pause in place, horror flashbacks already playing like a montage at the mention of him, before facing your friend, who’s already looking at you expectantly. “Did he say why?”

“Who knows? He started throwing up on Yukhei’s shoes, so I had to move away from the target zone.”

You wince at that. Poor Mark was always a lightweight and yet, he always accepts whatever drink Donghyuck hands him. And the latter always mixes concoctions with cheap vodka making up at least 40% of the contents.

“Isn’t this exciting though? The Lee Jeno is interested in you,” she squeals, grabbing onto your arm excitedly.

“I’ve been there. Freshman year, two minutes and beard burn. Literally, the worst experience of my life. Zero out of ten, no stars on Yelp, would swipe left on Tinder, maybe even report him to save other people from the horror.”

and in reality, everything he does is just to see you smile

he can barely keep his hands off of you most of the time

his love language is definitely touch

Whether it's cuddling, hand-holding or just your knees touching, whenever he's near you he just needs a physical connection

he says you're his personal charger lol

and when you stay over, he'll cling to you like a koala

one time you woke up early and he refused to get up so you involuntarily carried him to the kitchen with him clinging to you

but he'll play it off like it's annoying

He LOVES sharing his interests with you

he teaches you soccer, and even if you're hopeless, he'll still let you win

but he'll still whine and ask for a kiss after LOL

he's defo the type to send you playlists

most of the time they're full of dumb songs he found

or just Michael Jackson's whole discography

but occasionally he'll send you one full of songs that remind him of you

and sometimes you catch him humming them to himself, taping his leg gently to the beat

When he misses you, he listens to those playlists and just pictures you

he'll also text you little explanations for why he chose the songs sometimes out of the blue

He defo has a terrible picture of you as his lock screen

but his home screen is his favourite photo of you that can't be his lock screen because "it's sacred"

you think he's joking when he says it but he's not

having it as his some screen makes it feel like his little secret, something he can cherish

but he won't admit that lol

he's not also afraid to be vulnerable around you

he's pretty sure of himself most of the time but in those moments when everything is a mess he knows he can come to you and you know you can do the same

which is something he appreciates so much

he won't say it, but he loves how you can see him for who he actually is

you see past all the jokes, the insults and overdramatic behavior

you know him inside and out, no filters

NCT made my teen years and now i’m turning 20 (!!!) very soon and i’m getting back into NCT it feels nice to return to this blog and its kinda a full circle moment :,)) I have a few drafts that are from 2018 and i’m actually still really happy with them so i want to finish and post them soon!!! I also have a few requests in my inbox although i doubt the people still care since its been 2 years LOL but if you want to request anything feel free!!! I'm going to overshare LMAO in the time i've been gone life has actually been a bit wild😳 I graduated school in june of last year (which was cut short bcause the no no virus :(() but i ended up making it into my dream school!! (i know!!! INSANITY!!) I've been there since september and i unfortunately struggled for a while but oh my god??? i love university so much??? I'm studying chemistry and its honestly incredible!!
