Nothing ever happens in Hawkins, Indiana… well, until November 1983 when the town is smacked with a handful of mysteries that will force them to look in all their preverbal dark corners and hidden crannies, and maybe even shine some light on them.

Winona Byers has more at risk than her own secrets when her little brother and secret girlfriend are taken, Angie Keaton is forced to discovers more about her town and herself than she may have wanted to know while looking for one of her best friends, Diana Harrington is dragged into this mess by one of the tragedies happening right in her backyard and a crush on the missing boys brother, and Daphne Keaton is already in the middle by association— no need to add on an unexpected pregnancy or a shady doctor, but they are there nonetheless.

The more these girls look for answers, the more questions they have; about themselves and their town.

Freya Richmond and her friends were average teenagers living in a small town. One night while camping before the start of sophomore year, they are attacked by a group they could only describe as one thing; Ghost Riders, the main antagonist of the sixth season of their favorite TV show. And as if things couldn’t get any weirder, they all wake up far away from where they were knocked out.

So far in fact, science may describe it as an alternate universe. A world where Scott McCall isn’t just a character in a TV show, where the Hale fire caused real devastation, and one risky stomp through the woods could lead to more than a freaky murder scene. Which wouldn’t have been a problem, if Mackenzie Barnes didn’t wake up in the middle of a street with a bite already in her side.

Faced with their favorite characters and forbidden knowledge of the future, and seemingly forced into the main storyline by some deity with a bad sense of humor, they must decide how to play this out while looking for a way home. But in a universe where werewolves are real and the full moon is deadly, anything could be possible. And when anything is possible, even the supernatural, what does that mean for four girls from a universe where these things are just stories?

Four months after the death of her parents, Ava Gilbert is struggling to adjust to her new reality. She tries to find comfort in those still around her- her legal guardian Aunt Jenna, brother Jeremy, cousin Brooke, best friend Caroline, frenemy Bronwyn, estranged childhood friend Avery, and former boyfriend Matt. 

But the people she loves are waiting for the old Ava, star student and all-around fun girl, to return and Ava is having difficulty finding the appeal in the things she used to enjoy.
