i have been away from this account for a while, trying to figure out what it is i really want out of it. originally my intention was to create a place for exploration + process. lately i have noticed that i want to go beyond my poetry and express my journey in additional ways. so as of this post, you will find here not only poetry, but... well, i'm still not quite sure. a voyage. you will find a voyage. - you will find exploration + process. - you will find words, colors, shapes; patterns, textures, elements; mystery, shadows, medicine; pathways, freedom, imagination; movement, cycles, momentum; spirituality, sensuality, abstractions; nature, stillness, wild echoes; joy, sadness, release; questions, answers, contradictions; spirit, soul, and courage; and anything else that i discover along the way. - i hope whatever you may find here on my voyage speaks to you on yours. --- #thisartsoundslike ... play • a child-like spirit • imagination • bravery • a light heart • whimsy • wonder • curiosity - what does it say to you? --- "and if the earthly has forgotten you, say to the still earth: i flow. to the rushing water speak: i am." —rainer maria rilke --- art: anja art https://www.instagram.com/p/BPJkiemAleSfp4XCco277BNflRJc_bAjQ5DYT40/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1q07rjnh0q59m

Intuition is a beautiful thing, but it must accompany the discernment of intellect. There is an art and a craft; a moon and a sun; a yin and a yang. Intuition is pure surrender to the soul of life. It is the feminine principle dancing fluidly through us. Intellect is the craftsmanship that refines what raw beauty arrives on the heel of surrendering. It is the masculine principle anchoring us with the sacred work of structure and form. To honor both is to complete the circle of what it is to be a creator. Listen to the current of the inner stream, but harness its flow and shape it with your able hands. ▫️ Image credit: “Balance” by @studiominimalista

I’ve been experiencing a lot of nostalgia this week. Peering into lives that once were or that could have been. ▫️ I’m finding that a very good cure for nostalgia is attention. Making space for gratitude and taking in the warmth of what’s offered to me here and now. Sitting patiently with the feelings but staying in relationship to the knowledge that what is meant for me will always find me. ▫️ I have had trouble trusting this in the past, and I’m under no impression that I may have phases of the same in the future, but lately I find trust to be my natural state, and it makes things like nostalgia much easier to be with. It keeps me connected to what I have always believed in my heart to be true: everything has a purpose.

The sky glows golden; later, the swell of silence enlivens my heart. ▫️ I am led by youth: phantasmagorical path, bright stream of senses. ▫️ In the dim evening, recalling joy in fragments, my spirit is light.

This morning I was thinking about following the flow of emotion and was reminded of these words I wrote last week. ▫️ I’m working with sharing the things I write/make in a more timely manner, but just warning you now, get ready for lots of “I wrote this three months/six months/a year/five thousand years ago and forgot to post it” 😏

I haven’t been sharing much of my personal practice lately and I miss doing it, so here are my cards for the week. ▫️ The Three of Pentacles is mainly a card about teamwork, but it can also be a reminder of enjoying the process. Completion and the sense of accomplishment that comes with it are important (especially if you are a chronic non-finisher who tends to wander distractedly away from finalizing projects *raises hand*), but there is power in slow and steady. In pursuing the work diligently but blissfully, with a happy heart. In doing small tasks with great joy because you are taking the time to feel connected to their greater purpose, to the way it all intertwines. ▫️ Decks: #tarotmucha & #wisdomoftheoracle

Number four. | #magneticcollages | I still have no idea where I should post these... My goal was to post visual art things at @rhythmandresonance but this particular project is more like a spiritual practice for me. But it is also technically centered around poetry, which I usually post at @lionesswords. Help I need opinions to make this insignificant decision 🤯

My card for February is The Moon. I wrote this a couple days before I checked my year-ahead spread. I forever adore the eventual intertwining of everything. ✨

Lost in a sea of hair/lioness mane (I know, lionesses don’t have manes, humor me). 🌊🦁 This was from a couple years ago. I always miss my long hair, even when I’m enjoying it short. 💇🏻‍♀️

I’ve really been enjoying adding this little practice to my morning routine — magnetic collages. Slowly sifting through all the ephemera and paper goods I’ve amassed throughout the years and, guided by my intuition and pretty music, choosing pieces that fit together as a visual story about my morning reflections. It is the tidiest collage art I have ever done, of which my Virgo heart is very appreciative. 😛 Happy eclipse/full moon in Leo! 💛

A heart is a dreamer, a roamer, a wild one, happiest when it knows freedom, when its rippled strength carries itself steadily across vast, open fields, following the wind.

“To be without some of the things you want is an indispensable part of happiness.” Bertrand Russell // Been thinking about instant gratification and sacred emptiness. The more-ness that we fall into and how it isn’t inherently bad. // We don’t plan for more unless we feel there is more to be had. And we don’t feel there is more to be had if we already have everything we want. Happiness can stem from that sense of looking forward to something, of engaging with possibility, and in order to do those things, we must have the experience of absence in our lives. It’s not about a sense of lack, something being missing. It’s about desire, and recognizing that desiring something is at its essence a wonderful sensation, and only the narratives and attitudes we choose to revolve around that desire determines if we can access this perspective. // We can hold space for wanting without slipping into yearning, let the buoyancy of it settle into our bones until it feels more solid. We can honor our desires without immediately acquiring them. Perhaps dreamers will understand this best: the wanting can be in itself the reward. It means we dare to listen to the vast abyss of potential and, to it, extend our hand in partnership. It looks always for a conduit, we look always for a dream; together, magic materializes. Life is shaped. But first, we must be in the empty spaces. First, we must want. And oh, what a beautiful beginning wanting is.

I have a lot of tea tags! I cleared the collection of duplicates tonight. I use them like an oracle deck sometimes, sifting through the bowl they‘re kept in and choosing a random one. After putting them all back and doing just that, I got: “In the beginning is you, in the middle is you and in the end is you.” 💛
