luffy pov

Luffy followed her outside and saw her walking towards the gardens in a rush. He followed her but felt the need to give her some space. He didn’t know why, as that’s not something he would normally do. Luffy sees that she is finally alone and she sees that too. She was looking around making sure. And then it happened.

She let out the most breathtaking laugh Luffy has ever heard. She couldn’t stop. She had thrown her head to the sky, laughing so hard and he saw her completely free for the first time. Luffy was in absolute wonder of her.

“My goodness that was absolutely hilarious. How am I supposed to even take these men seriously? ” She said. Luffy smiled widely, finally hearing her voice.

Once she stopped laughing, she looked up at moon and paused for a minute. She closed her eyes and was in deep thought, concentrating on something really hard. What it was he did not know.

*This is my chance.* Luffy thought almost taking a step towards her but then stopped.

She started swaying to the music, it seemed to captivate her. She was so fluid with her movements, Luffy was unsure if she was really dancing before inside. She melted into the song 100%. Watching her, he was put into a dream and did not want to wake up. Luffy then looked up and saw someone walking towards her. Something about him was vastly familiar and Luffy felt uneasy.

You finally set free your desires. All of the negativity your day threw at you dwindled. The music flooded the gardens from the palace and the moon and stars looked like a thousand candles.

*I never want to leave this moment.* you thought.

The next moment you hear someone approaching you. It was Lord Doflamingo.

“My Lord, what are you doing out here?” You asked him, hoping he didn’t see you dancing or laughing. (At him).

“I should ask you the same my Lady. Being out here without a male chaperone could get you in some trouble.” He said moving closer to you. You then hear something a ways away.

“Then perhaps you could find one of my brothers. I am sure they would be more than happy to accompany me.” You said hoping he would get the hint.

“What makes you think I don’t want the privilege for myself?” He says with a smirk, moving closer to you.

“Please, my Lord. This is entirely inappropriate.” You said without raising your voice the best you could.

“How come? You will be mine soon enough.” He said raising this arm to touch your face.

luffy pov

Luffy recognized the man moving in on her. Luffy hears the pain in her voice and feels that she wants him to leave. Luffy didn’t want to act foolish like Sabo said but needed more than anything to get him away from her.

“You’re not gonna touch her.” Luffy finally said stretching his arm out all the way until his hand found the strange man’s wrist. This stopped him as he was inches away from his hand on her. Luffy then him go and locked eyes with her for the first time. Luffy started walking towards her, not moving his gaze from hers.

You are shocked as you see an arm stretched over 20 feet, grabbing Lord Doflamingos wrist.

Robin had eaten the flower flower fruit when she was very young so you were familiar with devil fruit abilities. You had also studied all the devil fruit powers in your free time. Your Head Mistress would not approve of such literature. But you were drawn to learning about the world outside of the ton. You yearned to experience it. *The gum gum devil fruit* you thought, you knew right away.

You realize that he stopped Lord Doflamingo from touching you. The arm snaps back and you turn to see the owner.

He was a dressed in a black suit with a dark red tie. He was tall, toned and had jet black hair that was messy but somehow faultless. He walked towards you, his eyes not leaving yours. You begin to study the features on his face. He had a scar under his eye and his stare was so intense, yet secure.

“W-what? How are you HERE? I thought you’d left this place for good.” Doflamingo said, as he started to back away.

“Change of plans. I believe this Lady asked you to go find one of her brothers.” The raven haired man said confidently. He walked and spoke with such power. Such certainty. It was absolutely captivating.

You looked at Doflamingo and he basically scurried away. Whether or not he would return with Zoro or Sanji was almost out of the question. He then way turned back to look in disgust at the man.

You turn back to the raven haired man and let out a breath realizing how much closer he was to you.

luffy pov

*Okay. Okay. Don’t act like a fool.* Luffy thought.

“Hi! I’m-“ he starts to say.

“Thank you. you have no idea what that meant to me.” She said looking desperately in his eyes. “I do not know what I would of done if that man asked me to dance again.” She added laughing, then looking immediately regretful for saying too much.

“My Lord, I am sorry. I should not have said such a thing.” She said looking down.

Luffy felt a wave of heat come through his body. He would do anything to be able to hold her.

Just as he goes to say something else, the string quartet starts playing a new song.

*How could I have let myself say something like that to someone I don’t even know!* you thought, stressed as he still hadn’t said anything. He looked down and chuckled then back up at you.

“I ask that you dance with one more man tonight, only difference is this will be your last first dance.” The raven haired man stated, his gaze still locked on you with such intensity.

You inhaled sharply, surprised at the shear boldness of this man. You feel yourself blush. He put his arm out for you to take.

*Did he just say that?! This mans confidence is making me absolutely ravenous.*you thought. You didn’t know what it was about him, but you craved more. You had never felt this.

“Quite the bold statement there, My Lord.” You said with a smirk and a nod, taking his arm.

*I don’t even know if he’s a Lord or what his name is.* you thought. You learned who every single eligible gentleman was before the season but could not figure out who he was. But for some reason, you didn’t care.

The two of you start walking back into the ball. Each of you catching glances of the other when they weren’t looking. The crowd started to whisper at the sight of you two and began to part, making a path towards the center of the floor to dance. You didn’t even remember that your family was there or how uncomfortable you were mere minutes ago, dancing with the other two. You were entranced my him.

Once you make it there, he extends his arm out pulling you in front of him. He locks his eyes to yours and bows. You do the same back. You take a deep breath and he pulls you into him.

The two of you begin the waltz and quickly melt into each other. Moving effortlessly together. You felt as it were just you two when you looked into his eyes. As if you were back in the garden.

He would lift you up so effortlessly and bring you back down with such care. Like you were on a cloud.

luffy pov

*Noooo the song is almost over. I don’t want to let her go. I can’t…* Luffy thought.

*Ugggh I need her to be mine!!!*

The song was nearing an end and you were coming up on the last time he would lift you in the air. Every time your hands would be on his shoulders as he would lift you off the ground. This time though, you saw him get a little smirk of his face before.

He goes to lift you up in the air except this time, you soar. His arms stretch and raise you high to the ceiling and you felt as if you had started flying.

luffy pov

Luffy lifts her up higher this time and saw her face start to glow. She put her arms out and head back as if she would start growing wings. He saw her smile grow wide and she lifts her head back up. Her eyes meet his again. Her smile was so pure and genuine as she looked into his eyes.

Luffy took a deep inhale and begin to bring her back down, but didn’t want it to end. He needed more.

Looking back in his eyes made your stomach drop. You had never felt so in awe of a person. You had never felt a burning for someone before. And for someone you just met nonetheless.

As he brings you back down this time, he brings you closer into his body, your body dragging down his. His eyes still locked on yours. You feel your body slide perfectly down his. You had never been so close to someone, feeling so much of them. Your eyes still never leaving his, your feet hit the floor softly and the song finally ends.

Your soul feels like it is returned to reality when you hear a voice say,

“Y/n”!!!!

luffy pov

*How can I seriously be doing this right now. I can’t believe the rest of the crew couldn’t be here. This is so fucking stupid. And there isn’t even food here like Sabo said!!!!* Luffy thought.

“Sabo, there isn’t even any food here.” Luffy told Sabo.

“Luffy you just ate before we left.” Ace laughed.

“Look, Luffy, I may have lied to get you here. But now that you are here we must make a good impression on The Queen. Our first priority is to find her and thank her for the invitation. Then you can do what you want, relatively.” Sabo said.

“Like leave?” Ace asked hopefully.

“No! I mean then you can go mingle and talk with any Lady that catches your eye.” Sabo said winking.

“I have seen every eligible girl walk down that staircase and I haven’t found her.” Luffy say without hesitation.

“Found who?” Sabo asked.

“My wife.” Luffy said.

“Luffy! There are some more ladies that are still walking. And, you don’t just know by seeing her. You have to court her and get to know her. Do you not remember anything we told you before the ball?” Ace shouted at a whisper.

“Trust me I know I have not seen her.” Luffy said firmly, looking around at all the failed prospects.

“Do you understand that you won’t know with just a look?” Sabo asked. “Not to mention that people still don’t know who we are or our titles. Once they do, we will have lines of ladies to choose from.” Sabo added confidently.

“I will know when I see her. I will do this for you cause you’re my brother, but I will marry on my terms.” Luffy told him looking straight in his eyes.

“Aye Aye, Captain!” Ace said laughing and Sabo started laughing.

*She’s not here though.* Luffy thought.

It was now your turn to decent down the staircase. Unlike the other ladies you stopped for a moment at the top, looking around and taking it all in. The string quartet was just starting a new song.

*Nows my time.* you thought.

You take one last deep breath and start walking down towards the swarm of people looking up at you, but you looked straight ahead.

luffy pov

Luffy happened to look up cause a new song started and caught a glimpse of someone walking down the stairs. It seemed like everyone turned to look as well. It’s like his eyes were magnets getting pulled to metal. Luffy was immediately in awe.

“Her” Luffy whispered, absolutely captivated. The look in her eyes was so intense, so deep. He didn’t know if she was happy, sad, drowning in pain or felt nothing at all. But he needed to find out. No matter the cost.

*Her movements were like a wave. Effortless, yet commanding, smooth but with an undercurrent of strength. As if the ocean itself was woven into her very skin* Luffy thought.

Luffy took one step towards her as he saw her coming down the stairs.

“Luffy we need to find The Queen” Sabo said. Grabbing his wrist and dragging him away. Luffy didn’t take his eyes off of her though and felt himself get heated when he saw men approaching her.

*Wheres Zoro? How could he leave me here to fend for myself!!* you thought, your face still showing no emotion.

You look around and see a dozen gentleman coming towards you. Everyone still seemed to be staring.

*Here we go. I’m gonna have to get through this without Zoro.* you thought.

The first brave gentleman stepped forward and asked you for your first dance. You took one last look around to see if Zoro or Sanji were near to go towards but could not find them.

“Of course Lord Havendahs” You said with a smile and a bow.

You take his hand and begin your first dance of the night. You actually loved dancing and wanted to get lost in the beautiful music, but could not. You were completely uncomfortable, yet somehow managed to remember to smile and play the part. Just like you were always taught.

luffy pov

*Oh fuck no.* Luffy thought as he saw her take someone else’s hand and start dancing with him.

Sabo was still dragging him at this point, while he and Ace looked for The Queen. They finally found her.

“Your Majesty.” Sabo said bowing. Ace followed. Luffy finally ripped his eyes off of her and looked at The Queen, bowing.

“I am Sabo Bassett, this is my brother, Ace Bassett and my other brother, Luffy Bassett. And we are the new Duke’s of Hastings. We would like to thank you for extending the invitation into this season.” Sabo announces almost yelling for people around us to hear. Whispers immediately started within the crowd.

“Welcome my boys.” She said with a velvety voice. “I’m sure the ladies of the ton will be more than thrilled when they found out there are three young eligible Dukes.” She added, matching his tone with a smirk.

*Duke of Hastings, that’s almost as good as Captain* Luffy thought. But hated being called a Hastings. That was his fathers last name. Luffy and his brothers went by Bassett, as it was their mothers.

Suddenly, Luffy remembered her. Luffy quickly locked his eyes on her, his heart skipped a beat. Traveling with her every move. He didn’t even know who the guy that she was dancing with or even looked at him. He didn’t care. All he cared about was getting to her.

The Queen looks at Luffy then at her.

“I see you have your eyes on this seasons diamond.” She says to Luffy. Sabo had to elbow him to shake him out of this trance.

“This seasons what?” Luffy asked, now interested.

“Each season I pluck one lady and deem them as the diamond. This one is perhaps the picture of perfection. And Your Queen knows best.” She said grandly. “If you truly want to enter into the fight for her hand, all I will say is good luck.” She added with a wink.

Luffy looked down and chuckled at the thought of losing a fight.

“I appreciate it, Your Majesty.” Luffy said bowing with a huge grin on his face. Ace and Sabo bow after him completely speechless and start to follow Luffy.

Luffy focused on her again, walking with intent through the crowd.

“Luffy!” Ace called. Luffy stopped but didn’t take his eyes off of her.

“What.” Luffy said.

“What do you plan to do? You can’t interrupt a dance.” Ace asked. A new song had started and Luffy saw she was in another mans arms. Who he was still didn’t matter. Luffy found himself getting more jealous. This was a new feeling for him.

“She’s the one. I know she is.” Luffy turns and says to Ace desperately grabbing his shoulders. Ace paused in shock but Luffy turned his head back to see her. Luffy was magnetic to her.

“Then you must act with pose.” Sabo said. “A girl like that won’t respond to foolishness.” He added.

*Damn, he’s right.* Luffy thought. Luffy peeled his eyes off of her and looked at your brothers. He let out a sigh as he hated waiting.

“Fine. Now stop getting in my way.” Luffy snarl, but found her again. His heart skipped a beat. She still looked to be dancing with such grace, yet he somehow felt she wasn’t completely free. Something about her was absolutely ethereal. Luffy continued to journey through the crowd. Slow and steadily.

y/n pov

*I can’t do this. I can’t do this…. Snap out of it. I have to.

I cannot believe Zoro didn’t keep his word.

I can think of nothing less I would like to do than to be here listening to these men boast about themselves.* you thought.

You were dancing with a fine young gentleman by the name of Lord Doflamingo Donquixote. He was from a good family, with extreme wealth, had fine dance moves and could give you an exceptional life.

Thankfully the song stops. You couldn’t help but get a little giddy. You bow to him.

“Thank you Lady y/n.” Doflamingo says with a bow. “I’m sure this will be the first of many dances for us.” He added pulling you in a little closer. You hear a groan, almost growl, from someone near you but couldn’t turn to see.

You almost couldn’t keep a straight face. Somehow you found his boastfulness hilarious.

“Thank you, Lord Doflamingo. Please excuse me, I must get some air.” You said, leaving without waiting for him to respond.

You quickly walked out to the gardens to catch some needed fresh air. You couldn’t wait to feel some release from the grips of the night.

luffy pov

*That was the longest song of my life* Luffy thought as the song ended. Luffy saw her bow to the man she danced with and him back to her.

*Now walk away, dude* he thought.

Luffy saw him pull her in closer and say something to her. He let out an almost growl on accident.

*Shit! Hopefully no one heard that* Luffy thought, looking around. No one was looking weirdly at him so he was in the clear.

Luffy watched her walk outside and without hesitancy, advanced after her.

luffy pov

The carriage approaches a magnificent castle. The air smelt different here.

*Home* Luffy thought as he took in a deep breath.

Being at sea all these years almost made him forget the smell of the place he spent his childhood. He looked out as they arrived at the steps and saw his brothers walking out to greet them.

The carriage barely stops and Luffy leaps out of it and tackles his brothers. Knocking them to the ground.

“ACE!! SABO!! I missed you guys!!” Luffy yelled.

“Good to see you too, Luffy.” Said Sabo, rubbing his head.

“Luffy why do you got to do that every time?! ”Ace snarled.

“I can’t help it! It’s been forever!” Luffy shouted.

“When did you get back, Ace?” he asked.

“This morning. Whitebeard set sail to the East. I told him I would find him and the crew whenever I could.” Ace said.

The rest of the crew put the Mini Mary back along with the horses. Luffy followed his brothers inside his childhood home.

Luffy smiled looking around, thinking of all the memories made… but the bad ones suddenly came flooding back. He shook his head to reboot. That was the past.

They entered into a grand sitting room and Luffy’s brothers immediately sit down on one side of the room. Sabo laying on the couch and Ace sitting on the top of the chair with his feet on the seat. They motion Luffy to sit down.

“So what’s going on? What’s with the Garp energy coming from you two?” Luffy asked jumping on the couch opposite to them.

“Luffy.. father is dead.” Sabo says blatantly.

“Huuhhh, what finally got the old geezer?” Luffy questioned. He felt nothing.

“You’re kidding right. That is how you respond?!” Sabo said with a puzzled look on his face.

“Heart attack.” Ace stated. Sabo shot him a glare.

“Mhmm. Weird. Far as I knew that bastard didn’t have a heart.” Luffy said.

Ace couldn’t help but laugh.

“Finally!! A laugh. Come on guys. He was sick for years. Something was bound to finally be enough for him. Now can we quit with the serious? That man didn’t care about anything but perfection. He demanded it. Who would have thought we couldn’t give him that huh?? We were kids and that guy treated us like dirt!! Mother too. He will never get any emotion or sympathy from me. Even in death.” Luffy let out, feeling like a weight lifted off his chest.

“Luffy is right for once in his life.” Ace said.

“See!! W-wait what? I have been right more times than you think” Luffy said crossing his arms.

“I guess you must have if you’ve made it this far, Capitan.” Ace said mockingly. Luffy got up and got in Aces face ready to say something when he heard.

“DO YOU GUYS HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS FOR US NOW???!!! YOU IDIOTS!!!” Sabo yelled as he jumped up and banged Ace and Luffy’s heads together.

“Sabo what are you talking about? We are free!” Luffy shouted rubbing his head.

“In case you forgot our status, it is now our duty to fill his shoes.” Sabo said looking out the window. “and I need my brothers help. Although that guy was a right old bastard, he left a hole that we must now fill.” He added looking down this time. Luffy had never seen Sabo ask for help.

“What needs to be done.” Luffy said unwaveringly. He didn’t need to ponder what this meant.

Sabo and Ace looked at Luffy in shock but he stood still. Knowing he would do anything for anyone he cared about if they asked for help. They sat down and Sabo looked at his brothers almost knowing how they were going to react.

“It is our time to finally take place in society.” Sabo stated.

“What? You know I cannot be in the same room as anyone that thinks that living like that is a life worth living.” Ace said. Luffy said nothing.

“We don’t have a choice. We must.” He said now gaining his confidence back. Sabo, as the eldest, has always been the peace keeper and tough as a rock.

“But why though? Why can’t we just do what we have to do without getting involved in that crap?” Ace expressed.

“How else would we find wives this season?” Sabo asked.

“WIVES?! THIS SEASON?!?!” Luffy and Ace shouted in unison. Luffy couldn’t believe what he was hearing. *No. No. No. This was never my plan. I never wanted this. What I want is to be King of the Pirates.* he thought. Luffy still stood firm, not wanting to let his brother down.

“Yes. Plain and simple our duty is to further our line. All of us. How can you expect to find an eligible lady anywhere else?” Sabo questioned. “It’s done, I already stated that we will all be making our debut.” He added.

“And when will this debut be exactly?” Ace said raising an eyebrow.

“Tonight.” He said gaining a smirk.

“TONIGHT?!” Luffy and Ace again said in unison. Luffy couldn’t even comprehend what Sabo was asking of him.

“There is a ball tonight at Her Majesty’s. We are all going.” Sabo said.

“What are we supposed to even do there?” Luffy asked.

“Oh yeah I forgot Luffy doesn’t have any clue on societal standards.” Ace laughed.

“HAHAHA oh shit we have a few things to teach you.” Sabo laughed, finally showing the side Luffy knew, most of the time. “We must be looking like the best dressed set of brothers out there tonight alright?! Oh yeah and Luffy do you remember any of the dances you learned in finishing school? Wait how did I forget who I was talking to. Of course you don’t. Let’s add that to the list of things to go over.” He added.

*Oh shittt* Luffy thought.

*After what had already been the longest day of my life, how could I manage to get through tonight?* you thought sitting in the carriage on your way to the ball.

You spent the last few hours hearing your mother say “My daughter! My daughter, named a diamond by Her Majesty, the Queen!!” about one millions times. You could not believe it and even more did not know what to say to Nami. You knew that she was crushed. You couldn’t even look at her when Zoro got you out of there. You also couldn’t believe that for once you thanked Zoro for getting you out of there so quickly and for the advice he gave you.

“So what does this mean now?” You asked Zoro, your mother, Sanji and Robin.

“What, my dear?” Your mother said grabbing your hand.

“It means that all the men will be ready to take your hand and all the woman will be scheming of ways to destroy you. Neither of which I will let happen.” Zoro said without question, knowing exactly what you meant. You didn’t want to be a diamond and didn’t even know how to act.

*Everyone will found out that I am far from perfection. And I will let down Her Majesty and my family. I can’t do that. I won’t let it happen. * You thought.

“That is the point, for someone to want to take her hand, Zoro” said Robin.

“Not without my permission.” Zoro stated.

“Well don’t you think I should have an opinion too?” My mother asked. You took a sharp inhale and Sanji noticed. You couldn’t think of a word to say.

“It’s about what y/n wants.” Sanji said looking at you.

“My goodness, you are right dear, how silly of us. My only wish is that you find someone you are in love with. ” My mother giggled. You rolled your eyes.

“Not without my permission.” Zoro said again.

“What does that have to do with it?” You asked him.

“I will not let my sister marry someone that cannot provide her with what she deserves. Simple as that. I will not be questioned again about this. This is my duty.” Zoro claimed looking completely un-phased.

Once again your mother looked at you like he was right. You looked out and saw you had arrived to the castle.

You took a moment and thought about how Zoro must feel. You had your duty, but so did he. Father left a hole that he now has to fill. He was now the Viscount. You would always see him as your annoying, know it all older brother. But today, you felt connected to him more than you had in a long time. Except you were a polar opposite ends of what was expected of each of you.

“We are here!” Shouted Sanji raising his hands. Getting ready to soak up all the beautiful woman.

You took a deep breath exiting the carriage and Zoro reached out to grabbed your arm. Sanji taking your mother’s and Robin’s. You all started walking inside the doors. You looked around and saw what you could only describe as pure luxury. The Queen demanded nothing less and since this was the first ball, everything was made to perfection.

“How are you feeling.” Zoro asked blankly as you two walked towards the entrance. You look at him with surprise.

“Can’t I care how my sister feels walking into her first ball? Shouldn’t this be a magical feeling for you?” Zoro added.

“Everything is quite beautiful, but all feeling has been buried deep for today.” You said.

“I know this isn’t exactly what you want but as you know, sometimes life isn’t exactly how we want it. But you still need to make the best of it. Okay? Now head up and..”

“Act like I have owned this place for years” you interrupted. You knew he wanted the best for you. He just showed it in his own way.

He smirked and we walked into a marble staircase leading down to the ball. You looked around to find Nami, but couldn’t see her.

You were reminded that the young eligible ladies of the ton had to walk down the staircase alone, showing the ton who was eligible. You let go of your brothers arm and he grabbed you one more time saying, “You’ve owned this for years now alright. Now I’ll be right there when you get down there. Do not dance with anyone without my permission. ” you nodded and a smile came out of your mouth, the first real one today. You felt safer, knowing that you wouldn’t have to dance with someone right away.

You walked towards the staircase. You looked down at your dress. It was a white silk dress that hugged you perfectly and the only one you were interested in wearing, as all the eligible ladies had to wear white. Your hair took hours to do by your lady’s maids and you had on your mothers jewelry but yet.. you felt a hole. You were familiar with nearly every eligible bachelor of the ton, as you were taught in finishing school, and nearly all of them are vapid, awkward or so egotistical it was painful. You didn’t know what was coming for you… or who.

Hiiii my one piece and bridgerton lovers! This is my first fanfic so plzzz be kind :) Please read this to help explain some background into the story! This will not be a perfect crossover, obviously, but I am mostly switching characters from Bridgerton and replacing them with one piece characters, not all of them. You thought as you starred up at the ceiling. Today was the day that the eligible ladies of the ton were presented to Her Majesty, The Queen.

The moment you moved a muscle, three of your lady’s maids entered the room. One opening the drapes, the other drawing a bath and the last, coming to the bed ready to change your linens.

“Good morning ladies” You said with an exhale, creating a smile on your face.

“Good morning Lady y/n” they said in unison.

You got up knowing that your brave face had to be put on now, but didn’t know when you would not need it anymore. The future was clouded with smoke.

The next few hours were spent meticulously preparing you and your my sisters to be ready for her Majesty. But only you would be noted as eligible to wed this season.

After being presented to Her Majesty, there would be the first royal ball of the season, tonight. Today is the day your mother has been waiting for. It’s what she’s always wanted for you.

What you wanted was no longer in question.

luffy pov

Luffy hears two horses neigh and is shaken awake as his hand slips from holding his chin.

“W-what’s going on? Are we there yet?” He utters.

“Sorry buddy! There was a SUPER big hole in the street. We swerved er though! Couldn’t get a scratch on the Mini Mary.” Franky says patting the seat, leading the carriage.

“We still have a ways to go though, so be quiet so I can get some more sleep.” Yawns Usopp.

“Why did we have to come here again?” Brook asks.

“My brothers requested my presence this season. Or something like that.” Luffy said nonchalantly.

“They didn’t say why?” Asked Chopper.

“Nope. I’m sure I’ll find out when I see them though” Luffy smiles.

“Besides!!! We get to see the rest of the CRRREEWWWW!!!” Luffy shouted throwing up his hands.

You step out of the carriage and behold the Royal palace. You saw it a few years ago and even after some traveling it still took your breath away. The way the flowers and plants intertwined with the stone and up the castle walls was perfectly deranged. You loved it you thought with a smirk.

“Ahhh finally you decide to join us” your mother says to a green haired man riding up on a horse.

“Zoro!!” Robin, your younger sister, says and runs to hug him.

“Baby brother and sister will be so happy to see you back at home!!!” She tells him as he hugs her.

Zoro walks towards you but gets a swift kick to the head by Sanji, your second eldest brother, who had a cigarette hanging from his mouth.

“Nice of you to finally join us moss head.” He mentions to Zoro.

“Seriously Sanji??” He said rubbing his head. “Didn’t know you would be back so soon. How was France?” Zoro asked Sanji.

“Filled with the most amazing chefs and most beautiful women!! It was possibly the best place in the world!! I learned a lot of skills I’m sure our Captain will be fond of.” Sanji said with heart eyes. “How is our Captain?” He asked.

*Captain?* you thought.

“Same as he always is.” Zoro laughed.

“Waiting for his Chef to return to cook for him?” Sanji asked.

“What do you think???” Zoro added.

“Of course. Forgot who I was talking about.” Sanji said then took a drag off his cigarette.

*What are they talking about? I guess I never really thought about what they were doing since they left a few years ago..” you thought.

“Hello big brother” you say as Zoro approaches you.

“Well I am certainly pleased by your company, what are you doing here?” you said sarcastically.

“What you think your big bro would let his sister out without his guidance? HA! Not happening.” He shouts then laughs.

You turned to my mother who looked for once that she agreed with him and back to Zoro. He had a satisfied look on his face that made you roll your eyes.

“Come on, let’s go. Wouldn’t want us to be late for Her Majesty, now would we?” He says with a stupid smile. He grabs my mother’s arm and they walk ahead, followed by Sanji and Robin, then you.

You take one step after another as that is all you can think about at the moment.

You approach a gigantic room with a number of screeching young ladies, their nerves almost palpable.

You pause for second.

Zoro sees this a turns around, having Sanji take your mother’s arm in his place with Robin. He falls back to be in line with you. “Y/n I know how you are feeling..”

“You don’t” you interrupt. “You absolutely, positively do not know how I am feeling” you add.

*I’m not even sure* you thought.

He looked at you almost shocked, which surprised you. Zoro was never shocked. He didn’t say anything after that just grabbed your arm and started walking to find your place.

“Y/N!!!!” You hear a familiar voice shout your name.

“Nami!!” You sigh with a slight relief as you see her.

“You look perfect as always!” You told her. Nami was the picture perfect Lady. She knew exactly how to act in every situation.

“Y/N!? Are you kidding me?? You dress like this once and are almost stealing my thunder” She winked.

“Nammiiii! Oh Miss Nami!!” Sanji rushed to Nami’s side with beating heart eyes.

“Hi Sanji” she smiled. “It’s good to see you!” She added.

“You look like the most beautiful, delicate flower I have ever seen.” He whispered to her. She got a little blushed and gave him a quick kick in the foot, then walked towards you. Sanji was always obsessed with Nami and you always thought she felt the same.

“Are you ready to be in the presence of Her Majesty?” She asked. You gave her one look and she already knew, regretting asking you that. You know that she has been dreaming of this moment her whole life so didn’t want to ruin her spirits.

“You know what I am ready for? Seeing Hancock faint when the Queen names you as her diamond.” You said quietly to Nami.

Hancock was a very beautiful but shallow Lady whom we went to finishing school with.

Nami laughed. “Y/n don’t you dare jinx me. Let’s just say if she is named the diamond, I will show her coal core.”

“I don’t doubt it in the slightest!” You laughed.

“If the eligible ladies would please take their place in line, Her Majesty is ready.” Stated a man in a royal uniform.

“Good luck!!” Nami said to you squeezing your arm as she returned to her family. You nodded and said “You too! Find me later tonight.”

We were nearly the last in line. You felt every other ladies nerve stick to you as if you were a fly trap over fruit collecting the nerves like flies. You tried to shake them off.

You hear Nami’s name get called. *Good luck girl. Please pick her, Your Majesty* you thought.

A few moments later you look up and the great doors were in front of you. Zoro gave the man in the royal uniform your name. You felt a ball swell up in your throat.

*Please y/n just get through this. You know what you need to do.* you told yourself.

Before they opened the doors, Zoro grabbed my arm and whispered, “Head up. Walk in there like you have owned the building for years. I will be waiting when you are done.”

You were confused at first but once those ostentatious doors swung open, you understood what he meant. Out of pure instinct, you listened to your brother.

You make eye contact with Her Majesty and hear your name called.

“Lady Y/N Bridgerton. Daughter of the Late Viscount Bridgerton and Viscountess Bridgerton.”

You take one step and another not breaking eye contact with the Queen. You reach the end of the carpet, bow and curtsy, just as you were taught. You look up one final time at Her Majesty and she is staring back at you, getting up from her throne. She walked towards you with her hand out and touches your chin.

“Perfect” she let out in a whisper.

“Ladies and Gentleman, we have this seasons diamond”. She stated.
