this really is so sinister to me. the way repro rights and trans rights are *specifically* singled out as frivolous concerns says a lot about how some self-identified lefties view women and queer people. is a 9 year old being forced to give birth to her rapist’s child not also fucking horrific? i’m not trying to be a concern troll, i don’t want to discredit the movement by getting snagged on people saying dumb shit online; but i fear this is a symptom of a deep prejudice that is manifesting in pockets of pro-palestinian activism. and i’ll be clear, this isn’t inherent to the pro-palestinian cause at all—people who laugh off gay/trans rights and repro rights activism bc they aren’t “working class” issues are also doing this!
