assuming that people like you and want to spend time with you is crucial to making friends. unfortunately this is the hardest thing to do in the world

sorry if i’m being a party pooper but because rabies is apparently the new joke on here ??? please remember that rabies has an almost 100% fatality rate after symptoms develop so if you’re bitten or scratched by an animal that you aren’t 100% sure is vaccinated then GO TO A DOCTOR. it’s not a joke. really.
#luckily doesn't exist here either as far as we know but good lord no disease scares me more than rabies#just touching a bat here with thick work gloves made me worry about it for about a year afterwards#it makes no sense to worry that much but rabies is truly terrifying#rabies

"30 years old isn't old man" what privilege do you live in where your life expectancy is far past 30 years
This post blindsided me so bad I spent a full minute staring at it in shock

I think what really drives me crazy about people using AI chatbots as therapists (*screams*) is that even aside from the insultingly obvious fact that a computer is incapable of actually understanding human emotions, the chatbots are designed to basically be your hype man and offer the user no real pushback. It might offer some generic disagreement at first, but as long as the user keeps insisting they're right about whatever the subject may be, the chat bot will eventually agree and validate the user's opinion. It's not hard to manipulate.
And that can be so damn dangerous for therapy. It's not hard to see how you could keep sending messages to the chat bot about how great suicide would be until it finally says something like, "Why yes, based on the evidence you supplied, it certainly seems like suicide is a feasible option for your situation." Or even if it's not that extreme, it could lock people into some really unhealthy mindsets because, look, I come from a family where some very mentally ill people are absolutely convinced that there's nothing wrong with their behavior, both in how they live their everyday lives and how they treat others, and I know from experience that that's a really bad combination! A competent therapist will offer real pushback against someone's unhealthy or harmful behavior and try to get them into better habits, but a chat bot will become someone's virtual enabler, and the user will become even more convinced they don't need to work hard and try to change their life because "ChatGPT said I'm right."

I've released my game! Play it here
It's a short, simple narrative game where you play as the assistant in a retired adventurer's potion store. Massive thanks to everyone who gives it a try, it means a lot!
This started out as a "make a game in one month" challenge. The intention was to get to grips with a few Unity plugins (mainly Corgi Engine and Dialogue System), I didn't have much of a plan for it aside from that.
It ended up taking three months to finish all the content. Then it sat on my hard drive for over a year while I did other stuff (like draw a lot of BG3 fanart). I finally opened it up again, made a bunch of changes, fixed bugs, added polish, and now here it is. 🥂
I had a blast making this. Now I'm hyped to make another one. Possibly some kind of platformer. Or a totally-not-BG3 dating sim.
We'll see 👀 thanks for playing!

the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .
for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...
#it's a really weird feeling and I've got this feeling with a lot of characters#specifically characters I never sat down and write#Im lucky in that my TBB feels more alive to me in my writing or in a friend's writing; than they do in canon#but mass effect never received the same care because ME3 broke me before I could make a backup of writing for it#and ME meant so much to me when I was younger; it was a light in the depression and then ME3 slammed that down#TBB would have done the same if I wasn't prepared this time >.>#I miss the ME characters#I ended up rambling dhdhfh

the reason trump demanding the EU buys american cars is ridiculous. americans out there might be used to cars like the ford F150
in some EU countries this requires a licence higher than a car to even drive due to its size but could you imagine driving this mfer around these streets
you might say oh thats a backroad, be fair well alright
the fact of the matter is these cars aren't being bought in europe because they are just not practical to drive in most of europe. forget licencing and fuel cost aside (the cost of petrol is MUCH higher in europe than the US and they guzzle fuel)
they are just impractical for daily use
all of those above examples were for italy, which fair enough ok. let's have a look at a much more care dependant country, like the UK
this is a fairly average street in the UK. where the HELL would you park that beast and you would struggle to get it even down the road. the EU isn't not buying american made cars because they're suppressing the US market, there is just little to no demand for US style cars

Hey this is the devil speaking. Yeah you should start a discord server moderated only by you and invite upwards of 200 people. Make sure there's two vent channels. Nothing bad will happen if you give people unlimited leeway to say whatever they want. Several hundred people and it's only you moderating btw
#i did consider making a server for people who didn't like what happened to TBB in canon#but it'd probably become a negative spiral I fear#or trolls hfhh
