Artists Beware

FA User TanglyLenny is doing a bunch of chargebacks on artists. He’s disabled his FA but you can find his Twitter here. You could see all the artists he fucked over on his page. He has chargebacked my gf, MissVTheLoser, for $25 (Over $45 and will put us in negatives if the dispute goes through) but other artists for a larger sum of money.

He has is phone number on his twitter which we’ve contacted before after he blatantly ignored his FA messages. Which he admitted to being a minor. So he’s underage and buying NSFW commissions which makes matters even worse.

He’s gone and disabled his FA and blocked MissV on Twittter

I am however not blocked and still trying to get answers out of him.

I’m aware we cannot accept his money anymore since he is underage. The money is the least of my issues. I’m making this post as a beware for furry artist to watch out and never accept this person as a client because he is underage and has scammed a bunch of artists out of large sums of money. 

I believe it may have been some kid who took his parents credit card. I have no proof of that but he’s bought some expensive stuff and the parents might have noticed and issued a chargeback. I can’t know for sure since he seems to just be blocking people and running away.  Sad he gets to keep all the art though :/ And artists are out of money they can’t accept even if they win the Paypal dispute.

Why do you get put on the “ignore forever” list of fursuit makers when you ask them how much suits or parts of them typically cost? Like if its not listed i dont know? And like ive never bought a suit and i dont know what prices should be. Idk it just seems not so fair to people who are newer and want to get into suiting. Like i get as an artist wanting to be selective and not wanting to get scammed, but i just think its kinda unfair to look down on new furs asking a reasonable question. Not trying to hate or start drama, I’ve just been really wanting a suit but its tough when theres “unspoken rules” that i dont even know about that stop me from actually talking to makers. Like i just want to have a cute suit thats all lol

At this point, I’ve accepted I’m not getting a refund, or a suit, so here we go. Birdtooth studios has scammed out of roughly $600 USD. They owe me a partial suit from 2018, which I paid in full, and even paid a rush order for. They have not finished my suit, and never post any updates except for them going to cons and working on their own fursuit. They constantly use “mental health problems” as an excuse not to work on what they owe. and have now vanished off the face of the earth. If im the first in their queue, I can’t fathom what the others are going through. Please do not commission them. Oh, and they also stick their bare feet into their fursuit heads!

Online businesses like DHGate were long used for this fraud, where you get a cheap copy of an existing character or fursuit from Chinese companies. Mostly new or young furries got scammed out of their money & getting in troubles within the fandom (some didn’t know that those were copies of other furries’ fursonas). Seems like scammers are trying something new, putting entire websites up, filling them with stolen photos and let you place orders, where you get nothing at all or just knock-off costumes.

Apart from reporting such websites, best is to spread awareness in the fandom or young furries about this fraud.

They steal other makers work to try and sell off as their own! Well known for doing this as well, not the first time I've heard of them doing stuff like this!!

So I rarely post shit like this but uh buyer beware I guess? Daena Schwartz (was going by chubbybunnycos on insta and TikTok then littlemeowxiao on insta and littlemeowwow on toyhouse and briefly on insta I believe and kittykatattackz on DeviantArt) has scammed me out of approx 100$ and many many others out of similar amounts. It's many 1000s$, and this person is still taking commissions on their DA. They promised refunds after ghosting everyone or giving periodic updates and reasons why things weren't shippable until after the PayPal dispute time had passed then ghosted. Some things weren't even customs just items she needed to drop in the mail! And she never did! Many of the people scammed were disabled and thought they were helping a struggling friend. She promised people refunds over a year ago and has yet again ghosted everyone. When people message her on social media she immediately privates or deletes the account. It's super uncool and I'll be making bewares posts on my other social medias but if people could help me spread this (I'm happy to provide proof I have tons I've attached her apology that admits all of this and a pic of the insta post saying she has a timeline for refunds. Originally I added a screen cap of all the people she owed on her Trello but I wasn't comfy showing everyone's name so I took it off) Please please please don't commission her she was super well known in the cosplay/fursuiter/Service Dog community and she took advantage of so many people and is looking to do it again.

Beware regarding Mea Gonzales aka Sakuracustoms_ on Instagram!

Man, I tried to do everything in my power to keep from having to make this post, but this is a beware on the maker Mea Gonzales aka sakuracustoms_ for unacceptable quality of work, cutting corners, not doing what was agreed in the commission, and blocking me after offering replacement parts.

I have made excuse after excuse for the quality of work that I was sent in my Sophie partial, which included fabric that wasn’t what I had approved, holes, unsewn seams, ink stains, a lack of any protective packaging that resulted in internal damage to the base, and an unusable pair of feet hooves. When this was reported to the maker, as shown in the screenshots, she agreed to make replacement feet, as well as a pair of arm sleeves and set of ears with horns to make up for the work I had to do myself.

The entire back of one ear was unsewn, with a sewing pin still in, as well as an about 3” hole at the base of the tail. I had to cover the horns with the correct color and type of fabric, as they came with white cotton and very visible blue stitching, which I couldn’t replace because it was the only thing holding one horn still in place due to the shipping damage. I also had to add the nostrils entirely, because she forgot. Multiple times through the process, she used products she had on hand before getting my approval, as shown on the horns and the “replacement” feet with the neon yellow foam. Receiving those images today of the feet hooves that looked absolutely nothing like the pattern we had discussed made my stomach drop.

After trying politely to ask if there was any way to fix the hooves, I did get upset with the quality of work, and was blocked, and as she said in her final message, I will not be getting any of my replacement pieces.

I will be taking legal action for the $1,500 I paid for this commission, which I didn’t even receive all the agreed upon pieces of as the feet I was sent are unwearable. I’m also still planning further modifications for the head and hands to make them more usable.

I felt as if Sophie was an unimportant comm for her as she worked, and the quality I received says the same.

Do not comm this maker, be wary or any work from them.

So, I am starting with a bang. I was looking up suit makers for future purchases and I stumbled upon this tumblr blog. I was curious due to the title being negative twords this praised maker, so I read it. It goes into the issues with DHC suits, some of which were major. Multiple accounts of heads being to small along with glue sticking out on the inside (which began to give one suiter headaches when worn) and from what I can tell 1 account of the eyes being made out of paper at least. From the blog I gathered that the customer service is not the best, spending weeks between emails, short fused, exc. The blog writer did point out some pros to counteract the cons though, so not all bad. That’s all I got for you as of now, and remember to do your research! Stay smart guys

don’t buy anything from “theshoujoprince” on furaffinity

this person. I paid them $40 + $20 shipping on fur for a commission for a pair of paws for my fursuit. the paws were a very simple design and shouldn’t have taken more than a month. it’s been NINE MONTHS NOW and I’ve recieved excuse after excuse after excuse as to why I don’t have my paws, and now they haven’t contacted me at all for the last 5 months, despite having posted a “ych” asking for commissions a WEEK ago.

I lost $60 plus a half yard of navy blue fur and a couple feet of uncommonly colored mint blue fur I really loved to this scammer and apparently I’m never going to get it back. DO NOT commission this person as I doubt they will ever deliver.
