Chocolate Explosion Birthday Cake I made this cake for my husbands Birthday. It was an 8" round cake which was 6 layers high! A super moist chocolate cake filled with Nutella and covered in a Chocolate Nutella Buttercream. Crushed hazel nuts around the top and bottom edges. I also made the bark which sits on the top of the cake. That was made with 60%, 75%, and milk chocolate, hazelnuts, broken Oreo cookies and coarse sea salt. I made this cake for my niece Maya who turned 1 years old. A two tiered cake. Bottom tier is chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling. The top tier is a lemon cake with a light lemon buttercream filling. All covered in fondant. Adorned with lots of fondant flowers with accent pearls on everyone of them. The borders were also make with individual flowers with accent pearls on each one. The topper is a little bird who’s base was made with rice crispies then covered in fondant with a heart shaped tail. A Bushel of Tomatoes! This is a cake I made for a 90 year young gentleman. Inside are 9" and 8" rounds of a white velvet cake with lemon curd filling. Which were first carved down. Dirty iced and covered in a sheet of fondant. Then the wooded slates were cut and textured by hand, put in place then airbrushed with edible paint. Scarf Hanger I made this scarf hanger for hubby for Valentine's Day 2015. Things you will need are: plastic hanger, closed shower curtain rings, fabric (I used a red polyester fabric I had sitting in a box for years. I used to make clothes for my Barbies when I was a child. This was the best choice as it would not fray), a glue gun, glue, sticks, a fabric scissor. Cut your fabric into equal strips and start wrapping them around the curtain rings and hanger, hot glueing as you go. I dabbed some hot glue at the beginning of each strip and at every third time around. The hanger was a little more tricky as I had to wrap the ends first. Once all of the individual pieces are wrapped, then place them as you would like. I hot glued the rings together first then I wrapped more strips around the rings for much needed added support. Then hot glued and secured again with fabric the rings to the hanger. First time trying this and I am very happy with the results!
