Gwen: *beating up some guy*
Ianto: what did he do?
Jack: he called her English
Ianto: ooh, big mistake. He’ll loose teeth.

I love Jack so much because everyone in Torchwood always has this dilemma and is hesitant to shoot anyone meanwhile this bitch in any given situation just

Reason #1473 for loving Gwen
Thinking about Gwen at the end of Miracle Day. She has lost Owen and Tosh and Ianto, been abandoned by Jack, got Jack back, met and found friends once more in Rex and Esther, and her father’s life is hanging on only because of the Miracle.
In ending the Miracle, Gwen is going to lose so much, after having already lost so many people she loves. Once more, she is going to be left behind to deal with the guilt and the trauma. And this time, the blood will be on her hands. As if she didn’t have enough survivor’s guilt.
And not only does she stay calm, she stays kind. She talks Rex through the next steps when Esther gets shot, reminding him why they need to carry on, and pulls the trigger on Jack herself so he doesn’t have to be the one to do it. Increasing the culpability she will feel should everyone die, as is highly possible. But she does it anyway. She does what is best for the world then what is best for her team and I. Just. Love. Her. So. Much.

Unpopular opinion. Torchwood: Miracle Day was actually really great and Esther Drummond deserved better.
These unpopular opinions people are sending me all seem to be designed to get my total agreement.

20~ for the Torchwood asks
Honestly, you can say about Miracle Day whatever you want, but Esther Drummond was such a great character imo. I loved her and I also loved her interaction with Jack so much. Really sad that she found the classic Torchwood end - dead.

Ok, so here is my deep dark fandom confession.
Miracle Day is my comfort tv.
The nostalgia of season one and two makes me sad.
Children of Earth is five days of torment.
Miracle Day is ten episodes of Gwen being badass, lots of snark, scary violent ‘not deaths’, Gwen and Jack being bffs, Rex grudgingly getting into the Torchwood groove, Gwen and Rhys being parents to adorable Anwen, Esther being a sweetheart, and Gwen being badass. Like, she is so feral it is beautiful,.
It makes me happy to watch. Miracle Day just makes me happy.
