"Hold still." Xavier leaned forward and placed a chicken nugget shaped hair clip in her hair. It's very realistic, but clearly plastic. He pulls back when it's secure, clearly proud and admiring his work, as well as how cute she looks. "Cute."
“…? What’s in my hair?”
She felt a hair clip, but as far as texture was concerned, it was bumpy. And somehow glossy? She walked over to a mirror, taking a quick look before noticing the chicken nugget clip in all its glory. For being a novelty item, it sure was realistic, almost made her hungry for them. Grabbing her keys and phone, she walked over to Xavier. “Wanna go get some? I’ve got a craving now, thanks to you!” She beamed as she went to slip on her flats.

She had to contain the giddy laughter that was bubbling up in her chest, resulting in hiding it behind a shy smile as Kaia continued to fawn over her. Although a small part of her wondered why the divine higher ups allowed her free rein when it came to choosing a hair color. Chastising herself wouldn’t undo what was already done though.
“I don’t mind! It doesn’t sound forward at all. Well, to me at the very least. Maybe someone else might have a different reaction.” Putting a finger to her lips, she ran through a few choices in her mind of places they could visit. Despite living in Linkon city for a while, normally you’d assume she already familiarized herself with all the spots the city had to offer.
She’s been to the local outdoor market for their fresh produce and other food items, the bookstore which had an extensive collection of literature. Hmm, where else had she not been…..
She suddenly smelled a faint scent of ocean water. Was there a beach nearby? Pulling up the gps app on her phone, she typed in local beaches that were near her. Almost immediately, Whitesand Bay popped up, and it was just a short walk to the destination. It seemed like there were food stands there too, sweets included. Well, that was it then. “I’ve never been to Whitesand Bay, why don’t we head over there?” She said with a spring in her step, the gentle breeze seeming to guide them along.
With a clear of her throat, she reaches out— "Hey, hi!!!!! Saw you across the room and thought you were super cute..." From behind her back, she pulls out a little bag of muffins from a nearby bakery. "Sorry. This is so awkward, but—um—here, for you!!! I promise I'm not some random serial killer who wants to poison you or anything!! Scout's honor!"

She turned her head to the source of the sweet voice calling out to her. Almost immediately, a small bag of muffins were placed into her hands. She couldn’t help but giggle a little bit. A cute stranger, and a sweet treat? This must have been a rare lucky day of hers.
“It’s ok, I don’t think you’re the type to do that anyway.” Morgan said as she took a peek inside the bag, a sugary smell filling her nostrils. She couldn’t tell what type they were. Chocolate chip? Blueberry? She almost had a mind to hold back from opening it and eating one on the spot. Better save it for later, when she was at home. “These smell so good, thank you, uh….I’m so sorry, what’s your name?”

A small sigh escaped her lips, relieved that it was nothing to worry too much about. She took a sip of her drink that she almost forgot about, giggling as she found one of the kitties sniffing and trying to sneak a taste. Wasn't surprising to hear Maeve was going through the same thing in her line of work as well. But then again, it probably happens everywhere. "Not the 'go back to the kitchen' thing, how gross. Talk about being unoriginal, jeez." A grimace painted her features as she set her cup down on the nearby table.
"At least you understand how it is. There's not a lot of people like you who do." She wistfully smiled as she pet a nearby feline, watching as the cat purred in satisfaction when she scratched underneath its chin.
And then out of the blue, all the previous sadness she felt melted away when Maeve's compliment reached her ears. "Y-yeah, no worries, I'll let you know." And then she saw her hand, outstretched as if silently asking to hold hers. Maybe she already knew the moment I came to her for help, she thought as she reached out.

She is caught off guard, but her alertness kicks in when she spots the men that are pursuing the female. She immediately wraps her arms around her waist, pulling her closer to her body.
“Not as much as I missed you, darling,” Maeve speaks loud enough to ensure it carries directly to the men. She brings her fingers to gently card through the female’s soft indigo blue hair, inhaling her scent.
Once she pulls away, she spins the her around and smiles, a wink following after while mouthing an ‘I’ve got you.’. She turns to face the men, keeping the female behind her. Her head tilting a little to peer over her shoulder at her, but keeping her eyes on the men.
“These men have been following you for quite some time... Do you even know them?”

Her energy seemed to spike at Kaia’s enthusiasm, even more so when she mentioned the sweets that her little wings threatened to pop out again, and just when she’d managed to tuck them away too. The prospect of baking seemed to suppress them for now, as it’d take her mind off of focusing on the little troublemakers. “I gotta add that to my list of stuff to bake then, it sounds so good!” Bless the cafe with all their sweets menus, they’d probably hate to see someone with a ravenous sweet tooth coming.
And then she was caught off guard with the question about her hair. Guess it was uncommon for someone to have natural blue hair around here, as opposed to an ashy blond or white hair color that came with natural aging. Dyed hair wasn’t a taboo thing in Linkon, she’d crossed by some people that had looked like they stepped out of a magazine. “I’ve gotten that question so much, people just blindly assumed it was dyed off the bat before I could try to get them to understand it was natural. But if you look at the roots, it’s blue all the way to the scalp. My eyebrows, and, well, other places are naturally blue too. But that was probably too much information to just drop all of a sudden.” She giggled to fight off the blush that seemed to intensify in defiance. Why did she think that was perfectly fine to admit out of the blue?! “Oh, no worries, you’re not taking up any time, I live nearby, in the financial sector of the city. It makes it easier to commute to work each day. I was just heading out for some fresh air, maybe head to a cafe since you just so happened to coincidentally appear out of nowhere,” she jested, as she tucked away the muffins in her tote bag with great hesitation.
With a clear of her throat, she reaches out— "Hey, hi!!!!! Saw you across the room and thought you were super cute..." From behind her back, she pulls out a little bag of muffins from a nearby bakery. "Sorry. This is so awkward, but—um—here, for you!!! She was a little worried by her reaction, she genuinely didn’t know there were female hunters out protecting other people. She watched as Maeve continued to stroke the kitty.
“I’ve only ever seen male hunters lately, so I apologize for the reaction. I’m really happy there’s female hunters as well, equality matters in the workforce. Especially since most people tend to think being a secretary is so easy. I’ve had to bite my tongue a few times from how often it’s brought up.” She pulled away, fearing the distance was a bit too close for her liking. Her boss wasn’t even a piece of work, he was nice, had a family of his own he genuinely wanted to go home to at the end of the day. Most of her coworkers were all in good spirits, save for a few that won’t shut up and constantly find ways to spread rumors, obviously offended they weren’t considered for the position.
At the end of the day they were just that, coworkers. Nothing more, nothing less. They could be dealt with another day. Not now. She had dinner plans and a menu to whip up. As for the wine….
“Hmm, I’ve always had sweet wine, but I’m trying to broaden my range out a bit. Maybe some Pinot Noir if that’s ok?” She thought, putting a finger to her lips. “I’ve heard it pairs well with a few dishes!”

She watched as he took off his gloves, noticed how worn his hands looked. Those were telltale signs that he was serious about his job. She almost had half a mind to reach out and massage them, maybe subtly use a healing ability to help with the small cuts she could point out, but she withdrew herself. They just met, that wasn’t right. Maybe once they got to know each other more she could try.
“It’s not a job fit for everyone. If you’re used to attending the needs of someone who oversees everything at the top and you like keeping busy, then it’s a no brainer. It’s enough to pay the bills, rent, and have enough left over for anything else. I can’t really complain about that honestly.” She shrugged, keeping busy was something she’d been used to. She’d never seen herself as someone who could exterminate wanderers. Not that she didn’t want to, it’s just that she couldn’t really reveal herself like that to someone who thought she was just an office worker. How would that even go?
Oh by the way, I’m also an angel sent from heaven and I have a few abilities, want me to heal the callouses on your hands? Maybe exterminate a wanderer?
Yeah, don’t do that. “So a hunter wasn’t your first job huh? That’s interesting. I would’ve found a way to handle them, but since it was in a crowd of people, I couldn’t do much. I’m sorry you had to deal with that mess, you already do so much keeping everyone safe.” She smiled apologetically, not wanting to feel helpless. She’d worked hard to not feel the way she did in the past when people found it easy to point the finger in her direction and blame. That was then, the present time is different. She could still hold her own, and she’d prove it.

"Sorry we don't have time for questions right now. Can't you see we're in the middle of something? Go back to your own business." Xavier says coldly to the unwanted attention. As soon as they disperse, he turns to the woman, softer in tone. "You ok?"
It was a blur, really. She’d been minding herself, heading out for a lunch break and then she gets approached by some random interview group on the street, trying to get her opinion on something she didn’t really have time for. And trying to escape was out of the question.
That is, until this random stranger comes in and all of a sudden, it’s like it never happened. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just didn’t expect to literally walk into that of all things.” Morgan found herself laughing awkwardly to try and lighten the mood, but also fight back the blush trying to make itself known on her face. What was supposed to be a simple walk to get a pre made lunch and a coffee turned into one of those situations you’d probably see on tv. Except this was real life. And she didn’t need to pinch herself to prove that it was true. “Thank you for shooing them away. Do you want a coffee or anything? I was on my way to go pick up lunch, I can get anything you might like.”

A blink. And then another. Pretty?! Her?! Morgan couldn’t help the blush staining her cheeks a vibrant red, she hated being flustered so easily. She joined Maeve in cuddling the kitten that was currently in her arms, not meaning to brush her hand across hers in the process. The darling little kitty let out a small mewl, enjoying the cuddles from both women.
“Wanderers….you’re a hunter!!” Morgan exclaimed, she’d only read about them or seen programs about the famous Hunter’s association on TV, she didn’t think the person she ran into for help was a Hunter out of all people. Maybe it was fated, or maybe she was just drawn to Maeve, it was hard to tell. She couldn’t help leaning in either, hopefully Maeve didn’t mind the distance between them becoming shorter. “I’d really love to have you over at my place if you’d like. We can put on music, any shows you want, I’ll cook dinner. All I just want you to do is bring yourself! Oh, and some wine if you want.”
I hope I’m not being too forward, she’s so pretty…

“I almost forgot the whole thing happened, are you ok?! You don’t have any scratches on you, right?” She said as the previous events flashed in her mind. Those creeps couldn’t even be called human, not with those salacious thoughts seeping out of their heads like rotten sewage. If even one of them laid their hands on her…
She shook her head to clear those thoughts out of mind. Maeve seemed to be fine, and after a quick look over, decided there was no injuries that needed healing. But she’d ask again later. She couldn’t stop the smile that seemed to come out of nowhere as she watched her joke with the workers that seemed to know her for a lot longer. She tucked the wings on her head out of view as she felt the small breeze from them fluttering earlier. “I’m really sorry for putting you in that predicament though. If you’d allow me, I’d like to make it up to you. Anything you want. No limits.”

"I'm Morgan! Nice to meet you!"
She rearranged the bag of muffins she was currently holding, taking out one and popping it into her mouth, then shaking Kaia’s hand. Almost immediately small white wings popped out on the sides of her head, fluttering rapidly. “Goodness, these are so warm and delicious! Can’t get enough of these every time I eat them. This’ll probably last me till the end of the week. Well, if I manage to limit myself at least.” She giggled as she admitted her obsession with the sweet treats. Feeling the breeze come from her wings, she somehow managed to pat them away, under the guise of combing her hair strands, the little wings fading back into her blue hair. Feeling a slight blush coming on, she hoped Kaia hadn’t noticed, or hopefully the rambling had managed to distract her enough to hide them at the very least. “Café hops? You mean like going to a different cafe every day or every week? That sounds fun!” She mused, making a mental note to try that the next time she goes out for lunch. “Chocolate chip is my favorite, just like the cookies. You can blame that on my sweet tooth, she’s kind of the reason I can never stay away from bakeries long.” She giggled.
Maybe that sweet tooth was the reason she got to meet this cutie instead.
With a clear of her throat, she reaches out— "Hey, hi!!!!! Saw you across the room and thought you were super cute..." From behind her back, she pulls out a little bag of muffins from a nearby bakery. "Sorry. This is so awkward, but—um—here, for you!!! She smiled as she flipped through the menu, looking through what she was going to have. Maybe some Alfredo pasta would be a good switch up from her usual go to.
“I work as an accounting secretary at a financial firm downtown, directly under a ceo. I handle the basic necessities, scheduling appointments, taking care of his agenda, handling documents, that sort of usual stuff.” She sneaked a few quick looks as she pretended to still decide what she wanted. Still baffling as to how he came to her aid, but it’d be a shame to lie that she didn’t like being saved from impromptu street interviews. Plus, he was cute. And that uniform of his, the way his hand gently squeezed hers. She knew there was some type of squad dedicated to exterminating monsters, but she wasn’t too sure which one it was. “What about you? That uniform of yours seems pretty intricate. What do you do for work?”

She could faintly hear the chime of the door opening from the cafe entrance, signaling that another customer was coming in. All the meows and purrs of the kittens and cats crowding her seemed to almost drown out the surrounding noise. “Hehe….yes!! T-the drink I mean. I ordered a latte. I’m sorry, these babies are so adorable, I act like I’ve seen them for the first time always.” She stuttered as she found the strength to place the kitten down and direct her attention to the woman currently sitting beside her. “This place is a literal safe haven, I can’t believe I haven’t been here before.”
A few minutes pass and Morgan’s latte is finally brought to her. As she thanks the worker for their hospitality, she takes a sip and her little wings flutter in bliss again. “I don’t think we’ve really introduced ourselves after that whole mess, I’m Morgan. And it’s such a pleasure meeting you. What’s your name?” She says as she offers her full attention.

“Cafe….oh right! Yes, there’s a nearby cafe where I usually get my lunch, they might have something you might like in there. And no worries, it’s on me. No exceptions either.” She said in mock seriousness. Slowly, they weaved their way through the busy streets, the cafe a short 3 blocks away from the office building where she works at. It was normally busy around this time, but ever since she had visited that cafe, orders seemed to be done quickly, and with enough time to sit and eat before her break was over.
“I go for their salads, but they also serve a bunch of other dishes. Ramen, burgers, rice bowls, I think they even serve hot pot if I’m not mistaken, or maybe that was another place I mixed it up with.” The front of the cafe was slowly coming into view, with flower pots and leaves on vines hanging from the front of the restaurant. A few tables were outside, some people out in the front taking advantage of the nice weather to sit and eat. A host who was working out front spotted Morgan and welcomed them inside, handing her and Xavier menus to look through.

She noticed when Maeve flashed the knife. This lady definitely meant business. Her warning was clear and swift, and it seems they heard but didn’t heed it, figuring she was all bark and no bite. Boy were they in for a surprise. “Good luck”, she whispered and made her way out of there. There was a scream as she got away from the scene, but she couldn’t tell who was the source.
Per the instructions, there indeed was a cat cafe as she turned a right. She walked inside and was greeted by one of the cafe workers, who asked for her name and gestured to a menu of food and drinks nearby. She ordered a latte, deciding to sit next to a cat on a sofa who was lazily flicking its tail in its sleep. She ran her fingers through its fur, relishing in the softness. Not long afterwards, she felt a nudge against her thigh, and to Morgan’s complete and utter amazement, there was a baby kitten nuzzling up against her for attention and cuddles. Unable to resist the charm, she gently picked the kitten up, cradling it in her arms like a baby and letting the little creature bat at her fingers as she played with it.
She was so absorbed in playing with the kitten, she didn’t notice a small pair of white wings on her head suddenly popped out, vibrating in happiness as she paid no mind. Hell, she even forgot what happened to her just a few minutes ago. More kittens and cats started to crowd her, all vying for her attention. This is utter bliss, Morgan thought, as the wings on her head fluttered in joy.

The proximity of his face from hers almost threatened her wings to pop out the sides of her head and cover her face in embarrassment, he was so close and it was hard for her to concentrate on his words rather than his features.
“Yeah, I’m fine, I promise.” She says while pretending to brush nonexistent dust off her suit. What a day it’s been so far.
“That’s a good idea, and perfect, we’ll be going the same way then!” She smiled as she held onto his hand, for reassurance and to hopefully keep that pesky group away.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Morgan.”

A sudden sigh of relief escaped her lips when the beautiful stranger played along with her plan.
Her wings were rustling through her shirt, trying to form and break free from the sudden intimacy when she had to remind herself she was in a dire situation, and immediately they stilled and phased back into her body.
In the blink of an eye, she’s suddenly whirled around, and protectively shielded against her back while she faces the incoming group of men. Gently, she puts a hand on her shoulder, watching them while silently reciting a quick prayer meant to give her savior a small boost of protection, she didn’t know what those creeps were carrying, and she didn’t want to find out.
Morgan could’ve taken care of that group herself, but seeing as unleashing her power would’ve drawn unwanted attention, she had to deal with it another way. Which led her to seeking out a stranger for help.
“No, and I don’t even want to. I was minding my business and they just surrounded me, thinking I was alone or asking for their attention.” She recoiled in disgust, their thoughts clear as day without any word. It didn’t need a mind reader to figure it out. “Please be careful, I don’t want you to get injured.” She whispered as they got closer.

I was on my way to go pick up lunch, I can get anything you might like.”
