They replaced a single storey shed and address the busy road junction with robustness and decorum. . . With little land available for front gardens, precedent is sought in the areas late Arts and Crafts influenced buildings, which contain a rich wealth of architectural invention that deals with this condition of proximity. . . . This scheme on Burbridge Close in Dagenham is a row of eight socially rented cottages arranged along a new mews street for people aged over 60. North Street is a terrace of 14 dwellings designed to GLA/National Space Standards as a minimum. Twelve are designed to the current equivalent of Lifetime Homes, while two are designed to be fully wheelchair accessible. The Hong Kong Wetland Park comprising a 10,000-square-metre Visitor Centre, Wetland Interactive World and a 60-hectare Wetland Reserve demonstrates the diversity of Hong Kong’s wetland ecosystem. . This world class facility has a variety of themed exhibition galleries providing interpretation on wetland areas the world over by combining a unique mixture of architectural and theatrical treatments. BECK was responsible for the complete fit out, including all exhibitory, from setwork, audio visual and dioramas through to display cases and graphics including external exhibits. BECK was also responsible for sourcing some of the live species throughout the project including the importation of many of these species. . The recreated environments were achieved following research field trips to Borneo in the heart of the wetland regions. .
