Guys I have no research or basis for this but you know how Sam says he “wasn’t chosen”? Even though we don’t know if the Horrors are in this world the way they were before, I can’t help wondering if it has something to do with this universe’s Jonah.

Like, it’s still called the Magnus Institute, so he existed, and probably had the same interest in the Horrors.

Anyways, what if it’s a whole search for a new body? In TMA he just kinda chooses a twink to hijack but maybe here he goes through this long process of choosing the perfect candidate, preferably a young child who has a lot of life left. Maybe it’s a good thing Sam and Gerry weren’t “chosen”?

something something mr bonzo killing people (and as an oiar hitman of some sort) … burying a body and/or burying evidence(perhaps via murder)… “you got berried” being a strange and specific choice of word/phrase to use/coin when pranking someone (unless its a reference to something i missed/dont know about but still)

I've seen some people speculate about a connection between The Buried and being berried, and I'm curious if this is a Jared/Gerard situation.

(i’ve only listened to tma and tmagp so i’m shouting out tma fans specifically)

to y’all who like stories of spooky and supposedly paranormal/supernatural phenomena(narrated by a british man), i highly recommend the youtube channel:

the tape library

all of their videos are well produced and thoroughly researched, most of which are documentary-style about a different real-life paranormal story (ie the enfield haunting, the sallie house, borley rectory, etc).

i quite enjoy their content so i figure some of y’all might as well :)

i keep forgetting that Super Skeptic Jon isn’t just a meme and every time i relisten to tma i have to take a moment to process the fact that he literally read out a statement about a guy being terrorised by a ghost spider, said very sarcastically that professional help was certainly in order, then proceeded to casually mention that the guys dead body was found encased in web without any tone change at all like go off king process nothing

So, I just had a thought about a certain thing we learn towards the end of season one in TMA

Jon covers up his emotions with anger and skepticism. He says he doesn't acknowledge his actual feelings about the real statements and is more vitriolic about them than the others because it feels safer than being honest with himself and being emotional. It's a safety mechanism

Now, which character is Jon vitriolic to at first, even more so than the others, and later shows extremely strong and overwhelming feelings for?

The fact that Jon even has that conversation with Martin just adds even more to this. I absolutely love this little bit of foreshadowing. It's so masterfully done
