Diving away from my usual posts, but I love my mom. And my M2. My M2 was my dad's wife, and she's known me since I was little. For years, I thought she stopped loving me because we never saw her. She now lives within walking distance, and we've met up a bit. Hearing the nickname she used to call me, feeling her hug me tight, seeing her look at me like I'm still 9. All these things I've missed. All the things I haven't experienced in years.

Same thing can be said about my mom. There's a few moments here and there that I don't remember but what I do remember is her undying love for me and my siblings. She's been nothing but kind to me and she's been a big support to me. She's one of the kindest people I've met and I'm happy to call her mom.

Icarus is scared to love. That's been apparent for a while. But they shouldn't have to be, their father loves them a lot and they aren't afraid of him! Right? He wouldn't show them affection and care if he didn't mean it right?

Icarus is scared to love. As said by themself, they kill everything they've ever loved. Willingly or not, everything, everyone they have ever cared about has died by some way of their hand. Centross died attempting to protect them, ending up dying by their father's hand. Haley and Momboo however, both died by their hand directly. Icarus showed care and kindness to the both of them and ending up getting them killed.

Icarus doesn't want to love Ven. Icarus doesn't want to show them kindness or love or care because he knows that the moment that happens, Ven will die by their hand. "Oh but Moss how??" Fable. You think that man is going to let his child not only not have a love interest but that he especially won't want that love interest to be his assistant? Love distracts people. Love leads you blindly. He can't have that. Not when he's this close to having what he wants, having all the power he needs. He's not letting his son get distracted by something so silly as love.

Icarus hasn't reciprocated any of these feelings he's been getting because he knows that the moment they do, the plan and action, the motion of killing Venear will have already been set in place by As It Was. They know this. Hell, this internal monolog is probably already written in that book and there's no way to change it.

They can not love no matter what world, what narrative they live in. There will always be a force stopping them from loving.

They are doomed in every narrative.

"Do you see how Kai is gentle with her son? How Wanda is gentle with her family? How much kindness they show?"

"No you're not. Look at how Icarus is with you! I don't think there's been a moment where he hasn't been disassociated in the time that you have been here."

"You have never been kind or caring to them. You've used them, hurt them. You're a bad person. And an even sadder, sorryier excuse of a father."

"I swear to the gods that remain if you say Rae and Enderian, I will shove my trident where the sun doesn't shine."

"My children you mean."

"I meant what I said, you goblin shark. When you look at Rae Morningstar, what part of him makes you think he has EVER wanted to be your son? What part of him has EVER looked like you?"

"He got those from his mothers. And as a matter of fact, what happened when he called you dad? The one and only time he's ever done it? What happened to him, Fable?"

ULYSSES DESERVES TO BE UPSET

Spoilers for today's lore-

Icarus fully wanted to hug Rae again. Hug him like how he was once able to do when they were young. They want to miss their brother, they want to go back to before Fable, before corruption, before all of this.

Before Fable, Icarus was able to wrap up Rae's knee when he scrapped it. They were able to cook meals for him, provide for him while Isla was gone. When Fable came into the picture, that was taken from them. For Fable needed a fighter, a potion maker, a warrior against his sister. He got what he wanted at the cost of tearing two siblings apart.

With Fable gone again, they were finally becoming friends again, becoming the brothers they should have been so many years ago. They were mending.

When Rae dropped Vanda off, Icarus wanted to thank him, hug him, and talk with him in the rain. They wanted to, in the screaming back of their mind, make things right. But that's not what they thought in the moment, no. They've shut off all emotions, all connections they might have had to others. They're their fathers warrior, their father's son. Their fathers son wouldn't care about a hug.

Icarus wanted to burst forward, no weapon in hand, into his brothers arms. They continue to want that hug in every doomed narrative they have together. They knew they wouldn't. They knew Rae would've hugged back instantly if it meant he had his brother back.

That hug will never come in the doomed narrative of them as Rae's brother.

In every doomed narrative in which Rae and Icarus are brothers, the version of Rae will always ask the version of Sherbert if they'd like a hug.

They want that hug more than anything.

In every doomed narrative which these two reside in, Icarus wants to hug his brother and hold him close like they wish they wanted to when they were young.

And in every doomed narrative, the force in which stops them from ever getting that hug, stands behind Rae as a warning to Sherbert. Sending a glare that shivers their spine and rattles their nerves.

In every doomed narrative of these two, they never get that hug.

Ulysses discovering he’s basically a father is so funny to me because like,,, I feel like now he’s suddenly realized has words for most of the other parents on Fable. He didn’t get to have an opinion before but not he does and those opinions are strong akgsksgsgaks

Rowan despises chocolate oranges

Neph can handsew

Kieran taught Kite how to bake some of Nancy's favorite things

Kite ties rude guests shoelaces together

Dan is good at knife throwing

Nancy always adds a dash more sugar to Kite's pancakes

Neph and Rowan share a mutual hatred for rice pudding

Dan prefers crispy bread over soft bread

Similarly, Kieran prefers soft cookies rather than crunchy

Neph doesn't like the smell nor taste of spearmint/peppermint

Kite has never once had to trim his claws. With all the walking he does, they file themselves down

Dan has a pattern of freckles on his arm that Neph says reminds him of a lightning bolt

Kieran is covered in freckles

Rowan has freckles on her face that resemble a river

Neph has very few freckles but, Dan still says they remind him of a galaxy

Nancy has a few minor scars from either Kite or baking equipment

Kite won't admit it but, he looks up to Rowan like a big sister or aunt
