Protection in a bag
If you’re like me, you may not always have time to prepare a ritual to protect a person or item I want to keep safe. I might consider an informal way to cast a shell, but I wouldn’t consider it less effective than performing rites.
I am making a small spell bag to protect and cleanse my sacred space.

Ingredients:
Sea salt - to cleanse the area your bag will be in like a filter, constantly keeping energy clear.
Patchouli oil - to protect and ground.
Rosemary - to purify and protect.
Bay leaves, basil, and/or cloves - for protection.
Sage - for cleansing, and warding.
Mint - for purification.
Cinnamon - for protection and spell power.
Purple, black, and white cord - to bind disruptive energies.
Rose thorns, stems - for protection from harm.
Obsidian - for absorption of negativity.
Selenite - for cleansing and protection.
Fluorite - for psychic and energetic protection.
Candle
Spell bag or satchel
Note: I’ve listed a few options if you would like to include a stone or crystal in your own spell bag, but you certainly don’t need all of them. However, they can provide a punch of protective power!
Process:
Light your candle with intent to protect.

Grind your herbs and incorporate them into the sea salt and last, add the thorns. (I used a pair of garden shears to cut up the thorny bits, but the rest was done by hand.)

Pour the mixture into your bag.
Add a few drops of patchouli oil into your bag of salt and herbs and gently toss, careful not to spill the contents.
At this point, you can add any crystals or stones to the inside of the bag. I chose obsidian.
Use melted wax to seal your spell to the thorny stem.

Tie knots down the length of the rose stem, binding someone or something from doing you harm.

Place the stem upright in the bag of herbs and salt. Tie shut.
Leave the bag wherever you need it.

Bonus: Add a sigil! You can draw one on a whole bay leaf to put inside, or draw one on the bag.
I hope you find this craft useful!
As always,
Many blessings!

“I Banish You From My Life”
Draw this sigil on a picture of your target (or just a piece of paper with their name and date of birth on it) Then burn it or activate it in another way that destroys it.

We are getting so close to this life altering solstice gateway which opens on the 12th of December and culminates on the 21st. This is the tail end of clearing the past. Whatever comes up, breathe, release it and step into the light. The darkness isn’t coming with you.

Below is an excerpt from Ecopsychology and the Psychedelic Experience by David Luke.
On my travels in Mexico many years ago, last millennia in fact, I came across a psychoactive plant, known locally as ‘the shepherdess’, which was used by indigenous people for divination and healing! I was given the opportunity to try this foreign foliage and doing so had an incredible and entirely unexpected experience! Within moments of consuming the herb a strange sensation began seeping through my toes and fingertips and moved towards my core turning me rapidly into some kind of thorn bush! The metamorphosis spread quickly up my arms and legs, across my body and up to my head until I found myself completely transformed into a small spiky shrub! I was quite literally rooted to the spot and could not move! Simultaneous to this, all the trees and all the plants, in fact every blade of grass across the large field within view, began laughing hysterically! Anything and everything before me that photosynthesised was in side-splitting fits and they were all cracking lines like “now you know what it’s like to be a plant, ha, ha, ha”, swaying back and forth, shrieking and howling with laughter! I didn’t find this particularly funny though, because I was absolutely convinced of my transmutation, and furthermore believed it to be permanent! Oh how the plants laughed! Then a disembodied voice spoke! Loud, deep and stern! A woman’s voice! She said something like, “you stupid humans think you run the show around here, you’re so arrogant, but you haven’t got a clue”! And then she proceeded to lecture me on species-centrism and our lack of harmony with others on Earth! I was terrified and ‘bewildered’ — in the literal sense too — for although I had hypothetically reasoned that everything might be inherently conscious, I had never expected to be chastised by the spirit of nature or publicly ridiculed by grass! The experience, mercifully, only lasted ten minutes, and quickly subsided as the voice drifted away and I turned back into a slightly more aptly named homo sapiens. The immediate psychological effects had gone, but the ontological shock remained indefinitely! I would say that this was my first serious shamanic experience with plant or fungal psychedelics, and since then I have never considered ecology in quite the same way as before.
Luke, D. (2013). Ecopsychology and the psychedelic experience. European Journal of Ecopsychology, 4, 1-8.
What a great read for anyone following the poison path!

Buddha Statues’ Heads: What it actually means.
Yesterday, I went shopping at Homegoods with my mom for some interior decorations and a few gifts. And what do you know: Buddha’s heads, either in brass and sold as “antique” or dipped in bright neon paint. My mom shook her head in disapproval and laughed. This really got my mind thinking that shoppers have literally no clue what these statues’ heads are really about.
This really got my mind thinking about that Thai movie “Ong-Bak“ about how a group of thieves decapitated a Buddha statue’s head & how a Muay Thai skilled warrior volunteered to return it before it is sold in the black market. Cutting off that religious statue’s head is seen as an act of vandalism & violence. It is one of the utmost disrespectful marks one could do in the religion. The original heads were stolen from respected places of worship. Cutting off Buddha statues’ heads have been happening for who-knows-how-long originally by greedy thieves.
And now they are replicated into fashion statements or interior decorating. They really have such a dark history behind them that nearly a lot of people had forgotten. (None of those pictures belong to me.)

Activated Charcoal = ineffective meds
Friendly reminder that activated charcoal, even when put into food as a black colorant, binds to medication and can make it ineffective. Yes, this includes birth control! I thought I’d put this PSA out there since people are making spooky “black” versions of normal foods.
