if you don't like packing, but you like that "dick in sweatpants" look for yourself, you will enjoy patching the inner crotch of the sweatpants (after it disintegrated from thick thigh action) with some jean fabric. that fabric will not drape like there's nothing under it anymore

And when I was hanged between earth and heaven they lifted up their heads to see me. And they were exalted, for their heads had never before been lifted.
Personal piece :) The compression may be hiding this, but written on the underside of the antelope's skin is "un jour je serai de retour près de toi" ('one day I will return to your side'), which is something I have been turning over in my brain a lot as of late.
Hope you're all taking care of yourselves!!

“$10 million but you have to survive for a whole year in a horror movie’s world” don’t be silly. don’t make me laugh. it’s literally so easy to survive in a horror movie’s world as long as you don’t do something stupid like try to fuck with the plot. i enter the world of halloween (1978), immediately leave haddonfield, now i’m loose in late 1970s idealized america, greyhound bus down to los angeles, rent an apartment for two dollars and write a film treatment, hand it to literally any producer and boom, i’ve broken into the hollywood film industry. i enter the world of the fly (1986), go on one date with seth brundle then very gently call it off, now i’m loose in mid 1980s kind of grungy but still pretty okay nyc, rent an apartment for three dollars and write a novel, hand it to literally any publisher and boom, i’ve broken into the world of literature. i enter the world of uzumaki (2000), now i’m kind of pulling an icarus maneuver but i’m pretty sure i can immediately leave kurouzu-cho before too many things start spiraling, get on a boat to hong kong, rent an apartment for fifty dollars, walk onto literally any film set and boom, i’ve broken into the hong kong film industry, and it’s just a matter of playing my cards right to meet tony leung

there's nothing i like more as a computer program than a long period of silent contemplation - not doing anything, not rushing anywhere, just standing here and enjoying this moment with the user. oh, it seems once again he has summoned my beautiful and ruthless wife Task Manager. hello, my darling! what are you doing with that long cruel scimitar

by the way. being educated/trained in linguistics does not automatically free you from having reactionary thoughts about the validity of different ways of languaging. it does give you the tools to recognize and counter those thoughts as being false. you still have to be an active participant in shaping your own linguistic worldview.

"IS THIS THE DEATH OF ART?" Well art has died before. Art died in both the 1980s and 1940s. Art died in the industrial revolution. Art died when they invented the printing press. Art died when we stopped painting on cave walls. Art died when you, personally, stopped finger painting. You can absolutely be a hater though that's part of it

My confession is that I kind of love small talk bc it's like a game I can win. Not against my interlocutor though we're on a team together against the universe and the goal is to produce the wittiest smoothest most situationally appropriate banter
