Tata Curvv SUV Unveiled – All Key Features & Launch Details

The much-awaited Tata Curvv has finally been unveiled in its close-to-production avatar for the Indian market. The carmaker says that it merges “the toughness and durability of an SUV with an elegant and sporty silhouette of a Coupe”. It will be the first mass-market coupe SUV from the home-grown automaker that will come with both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric powertrains.

he electric iteration of the Curvv underpins the brand’s new Acti.ev architecture and features signature split LED headlamp clusters, a new grille with piano black and body color finish, bumper-integrated fog lamps, larger air intake, and a pronounced faux skid plate at the front.
The interior of the coupe SUV will share features with the Harrier and Safari. It will have a 10.25-inch screen setup for the instrument cluster and digital dials, a floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a Harrier-like two-spoke steering wheel, Head-Up Display, ventilated front seats, an electric parking brake, wireless charger, connected car features, dual-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera. The higher trims will be offered with some exclusive amenities such as a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS tech.
Specifications of the Tata Curvv EV are yet to be revealed. However, the electric SUV is likely to deliver a range of around 450km – 500km. The SUV’s ICE version will use Tata’s new 125bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and Nexon’s 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel engines. It’s also reported to be offered with a CNG fuel option at a later stage.

The Tata SUV-coupe’s back feels tall and the boot lid is positioned a lot higher than the bonnet, which has likely been done to increase the luggage space on offer (422 litres claimed).
Its key styling detail here is the wraparound and connected LED tail lights. The tall bumper – having a faux skid plate with silver finish at the bottom – mimics the split-headlight setup, which is replaced by the reflectors and reversing lamps here.

Hyundai Exter With Tata Punch-like Dual CNG Cylinders Launched

Hyundai has taken a leaf out of Tata’s book as it has also now introduced its dual-cylinder technology for the CNG powertrain. The first model that is being offered with this setup is the Hyundai Exter whose prime rival, the Tata Punch, also gets a similar tech. Hyundai is offering the split-cylinder tank setup on the same three variants of the micro SUV that get the choice of the CNG powertrain.
With the introduction of the split-cylinder setup for the Exter’s CNG variants, Hyundai has also increased their prices by a nominal Rs 7,000. The Korean marque is offering the micro SUV’s CNG powertrain option with the newly launched Knight edition SX variant as well.

biggest advantages of providing a dual-cylinder CNG technology is the availability of increased boot space on offer. The updated Exter CNG also comes with an integrated electronic control unit (ECU), which enables switching between petrol and CNG modes while on the go, as available on the latest Tata CNG offerings. With the dual-cylinder CNG technology on the Exter, customers are entitled to a 3-year warranty as well.

Mahindra Thar 5-door Images Leaked Online Ahead Of August 15 Debut

The Mahindra Thar 5-door is the next major launch from the Indian automaker. The SUV has been spotted in heavy camouflage multiple times, and recently, new undisguised images of the Thar 5-door have surfaced on the internet, revealing its fascia and side of the SUV for the first time. The extended version of the Thar will make its debut this Independence Day, i.e., on August 15, 2024.
The first noticeable change on the Thar 5-door compared to its 3-door version is the new six-slat grille, divided into two parts. Another new feature is the headlights, which, unlike those on the regular Thar, appear to be LED projector setups and also integrate circular LED DRLs. The positioning of the indicator and fog lamps, however, remains the same as that on the 3-door version of the Thar. We also got a glimpse of the newly designed alloy wheels on the extended Thar, which have also been spotted earlier.

From the profile, the Thar 5-door retains the same boxy design as the regular Thar, however it now looks bigger due to addition of two-doors which have increased its wheelbase. It gets C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and in the image, the ORVM on the Thar 5-door can be seen with a camera, confirming it will feature a 360-degree setup. Additionally, the interior reveals a panoramic sunroof fitted into the roof, with seats covered in beige upholstery.

The Mahindra Thar 5-door is expected to go on sale shortly after its debut on August 15, 2024. Mahindra could price it from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
