Your daughter is a very naughty girl, how do you feel about it?
“It breaks my heart so very much. Before I wanted nothing more than to perish from this earth forever…but a kind soul has given me the strength to try to show my daughter the path to redemption. I must do it; she is my sweet baby girl and I will not let her continue this way.”

“Blahdy blah, amen.” Marcus crossed himself then dropped his arms by his sides. “Mumble all the prayers you wish to, but this town has demons roaming around whether you like it or not, it’s our home too.”
Still unable to look Marcus in the eye, the ghost remained in her spot on the ground. “H-home,” Hannah whispered. It all felt surreal. The place with so many kind, happy souls was also shared with creatures like him. Vile, evil beings that wanted nothing more than the ruin of God’s creations. “B-but why?”

“It doesn’t matter, you’re a ghost.” Alec shrugged his shoulders. “Could be fun to see people’s reactions to you.”
She perked up slightly. “You don’t think I’ll annoy anyone? Okay! I’ll stay!” Hannah gave a wide grin, her excitement radiating off of her. “I’ve never stayed in a hotel before.”

“Huh.” Kira nodded as well. “So you were a single mother back then? That must have been very hard. What about your parents? Did they know you had a kid?”
She shook her head, gaze dropping back down to the ground in shame. “No. I...had her out of marriage. I lived states away from my family, so they never met her, and I never mentioned her in my letters. Our ward sent a small sum of money every now and then to help me support myself, since all anyone knew was that my fiance passed away.
My parents...they were the ones that set it all up, and if I told them the truth they would have ex-communicated me. We relied so much on that money, but I felt so guilty. I was lying to my own family. It was horrid.”

Ashlyn frowned, she never asked herself these questions and didn’t know how to answer them. “I don’t know what you want me to say. I didn’t question it, I did what I needed too to have the life I live.” She said, knowing that it’s probably not the answer her mother wanted to hear. “I’m not good mom. I’m not the perfect child you would have raised.”
Her heart only broke further, if such a thing were possible. “T-there was no reason? It was all in selfishness?” Hannah shook her head, gripping her dress in anxiety. “I-I never wanted you to be perfect. I just wanted you to be the b-best you could be.” Her voice kept wavering, sobs interlacing with her words.

Cassandra moved hair from Hannah’s face. “It is easy to feel lonely and lost. Father does not just abandon his children. He just knows that you are strong and you will get through this.” She smiled. It hurt just knowing that she is no longer an angle. “You are not a burden. You can lean on me.” She stated.
She pulled the other woman into a hug, a smile finally breaking her lips. “You are a true angel. I’ve never met anyone so kind and understanding. Thank you, so much. I was close to loosing my faith, but you brought me to the righteous path once more. I owe everything to you.”

Ioannis was sure the blonde had no idea what he was talking about, but that only made it that much more fun. Her insults kept coming and they didn’t stop, Even as she displayed her distaste for him, the demon was stepping closer to her with each word, tauntingly slow. He couldn’t help but play with this one, it was too much fun. “Well, it’s easy, sweetheart. Would you like to find out for yourself how little shame I have?” He let his true nature overtake for a split second in the form of his eyes, which seemed to spread his pupils out until his eyes were nothing but pitch black.
She tensed once it dawned on her that he was moving closer. As he called her sweetheart Hannah felt a vile chill run down her spine. She wanted to back up, to run away, but fear had her frozen in spot. “Y-you’re one of those monsters. Those demons,” she whispers in a mixture a fear and disgust.

Ashlyn couldn’t look at her mother, she didn’t know how to make her mother understand why she did it. “The spell that I found when I first started looking to become immortal needed the witch to perform a curse to continue their immortal life.” She said, knowing that it didn’t make sense, and she couldn’t help what a spell asked for, she just gave it to it. “It needed to be performed within 100 years of the first spell.”
She shook her head, still not understanding why. “But why would you do that? H-how could you hurt so many just for a longer life? Why would you want that?” Hannah continued to cry, her heart continuing to break.

“I think so.” Kira smiled then leaned against the counter, watching Hannah. “No, come on… when were you alive? What did you do back then? What was the world like for women?”
She slowly loosened herself up from the scrunched up form, her focus turning to her memories of so long ago. “I was born in 1885. Things were very simple then. I never had any male friends....or many friends I suppose. A man only talked to you if he was interested in courting, and even then my brothers kind of scared off a lot of them. Being a single mother...was hard. Other mothers looked down on me, and single women thought I was too boring. I was a seamstress. That’s how I supported the two of us. I wanted to be a teacher, but God’s plans don’t always follow our dreams. He knows what truly is best for us.”

Elijah looked down at the ghosts hands passing through his leg (it was like having ice pressed to your skin) and sighed softly. “I’m sorry, I can’t. I haven’t actually figured out that whole thing yet.”
She shook her head, tears still falling. “It hurts. It hurts so much. I-I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to feel this anymore. Please.”

Cassandra’s heart warmed and pulled at the same time. She hugged the other back. It was nice to know she still had a connection with God even after she had fallen. “Of course, dear. You are not alone.”
New tears burst forth at this woman’s kindness. Pulling back slightly, Hannah shook her head. “But I feel so alone. I have for such a long, long time. I pray to Him every night, but sometimes I feel like even He has given up on me. I...I don’t know who I can lean on. I don’t want to be a burden to anyone.”

Marcus shrugged. “Fine. If we must play this game…” He rubbed his hands together and produced some hellfire from his fingers then threw it past her, setting a tree on fire for a moment before it put itself out. “This is a place for us to live in harmony, whatever you think of demons, I don’t give a damn.”
She screamed in pure terror, dropping down to the ground as the flames shot past her. Hannah trembled as she was frozen in place, unable to run. The ghost began mumbling bible verses, praying for His love and protection. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” She couldn’t even bring herself to look Marcus in the eye, her fear was too great.

“You show them love. You show that despite everything they are loved and with love is goodness.” Cassandra rubbed Hannah’s hands. “You have so much strength. I can see it in you.” Cassandra always thought the ghosts coming to town was against God, but maybe maybe God did want these spirits to help bring goodness. “And you are not alone.”
With watery eyes she stared at Cassandra, not know what to say. “You...are so kind. When I prayed to God I hadn’t expected he would send you in response. Thank you. Thank you so much.” With that, she embraced the fallen angel.

Elijah just stood there helplessly, not really knowing what to do or say to her because he had though everything was going okay for her. “But… you have Ash back, what else could it be?”
At the mention of her daughter the ghost crumpled to the ground, sobs leaving her as the pain in her heart only grew. Desperately she grabbed on to Elijah’s pants leg. “Please...please send me back. I don’t want to be here anymore.”

“Oh… well, that’s pretty cool actually. I bet you have some great stories to tell of the bygone ages.”
Hannah blinked at the other woman in confusion. No one had ever called...this cool. “Y-you really think so?” Suddenly she got a bit bashful, her gaze looking down and her shoulders up, as if trying to scrunch up into a ball. “Oh no, I’m really boring. I don’t have any interesting stories.”

“You can, ghost or not. But not… permanently though. I know ghosts like to stick to one place.”
Hannah was a bit confused. “W-wait, you would let me stay a night? But...I don’t have any money.” She didn’t think she stuck to one place, but she did love her home...or used to.

It was as if as soon as he exited the church, a woman was upon him, demanding how he could do such a thing, but he found himself excited and amused by her shouting instead of afraid. After a few moments, he broke into a wide grin as he pulled his shirt back on. “Don’t worry, sweetheart, your lord wasn’t the only one who got a face full of love.” A low chuckle escaped his lips as he examined her expression, arching a brow. “Perhaps he should thank me, I did show that lovely woman what true religion could be while I was inside of her.” He couldn’t help but add the last sentence in, finding her rage all too amusing not to be taken advantage of.
Raged boiled in her stomach at how cocky this man was. He didn’t seem to care at all for the disgusting acts of immorality he completed in that church. Hannah didn’t really understand anything he was saying, but it didn’t matter. The intentions were still clear. “You are a vile man. How could you do such a thing? Have you no shame? No remorse?”
