The Reason I Applied For Music Potential Is Because I Have Been Unemployed For A While, Looking For Jobs And Doing Various Training Courses To Find Work. But Was Never Able To Find An Avenue To Get Some Sort Of Training Or Experience In The Music Industry.  Then One Night, When I Went Onto The Choice FM Website To Listen To The Slow Down Zone *Big Up Jenny Francis* I Saw The Ad For Music Potential And Thought, This Is Perfect For Me! I Would Say As A Producer/Musician/DJ My Music Style Is Me - Experimental, Perfection, Creative, Abstract, Powerful And Delicate. This Being Because I Always Try To Make My Music Different, So I Always Try Incorporate A lot Of Different Sounds, Styles And Music As Well As Always Adding Personal Touch. My Passion For Music Comes From My Musical Background Playing Steel Pan For 12 Years In A Steel Orchestra I Have Grown To Have An Ear And Heart For Everything Music. I Also Play In A Steel Band, Where You Learn To Play, The Hunger For Perfection Or Improvements By Expanding The Music And Being Even More Creative. I Am Influenced By Producers Such As Ryan Leslie, Dr Dre, Timbaland & Jahlil Beats. I'm Also Influenced By People And What They Look For And Love In Music. Which Is Why I Took Up DJ'ing Because I Have A Passion For Pleasing People Using Music. When I Was Selected To Come Back For The Workshop After The Taster Day, I Was Surprised Because I Thought That It Was Only Ever Going To Be A Taster Day. But When I Found Out That We Could Get A Week To Learn Even More And Meet Industry Professionals, I Was Impressed To Say The Least. Being On The Course Now I've Learnt From My Tutors And I Know I've Got A lot More To Come. My Highlight So Far Is Meeting Kojo, Angel, Abrantee & Jade. Kyroe Carrington-Mckenzie's MPXperience Day 2

I saw Music Potential on Facebook, advertising on the Choice fM page and thought it was a chance to perform with my music until I read it properly and learnt that this is exactly what I need, next to College, in order to know how to get in the industry and last in it. My musical style as a solo rapper, would be a hip hop rapper, with a big influence from American Hip Hop but with that London accent and has it's London point of view; stays true to the roots of where I am from. Energy, reality and honesty are all essences that I put in my music. Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, J cole, Kano, Kanye West (esspecially)all  Influence me in my work. When I got selected for the workshop it wasn't what I completely expected. I thought for Dj Skills, there would be more turntables and we were using vinyl turntables however there was only 1 being used between 5 of us and we had a lot of assistance by a tutor on CDJ.  We also had a chance to talk to people that are successful in the music industry which was extremely beneficial. Ciara's MPXperience Day 2

I learnt about Music Potential through a friend. I've always wanted to try DJing, so this seemed right. I really enjoy making playlists and choosing music, so I thought that this would take it to the next level. I like all kinds of music, from pop to rock to jazz. It's important to be open-minded and I think that is reflected in my musical style. I’m influenced by DJs such as Calvin Harris and Towa Tei, who have a cool, fun, electronic vibe. My highlights from MPX would have to be the actual hands on DJing and learning what all the different buttons do. A skill that I look forward to using in the future!

Devi- Asha Chundavadra's MPXperience Day 2

My name is Devi-Asha Chundavadra and I am on the DJ'ing workshop at Music Potential on day 2 so far. 

I applied for music potential after hearing about it on choice fm and straight away thought it would be a great opportunity to learn some new skills which I have always had an interest in. 

My musical style and musical tastes are a mix of Hip-Hop and R&B. I like to play music which gets people moving, dancing and singing along. This kind of music to me is like feel-good music. It's the kind of music which most people enjoy listening to, no matter what genre of music is their preference. 

One of my main influences is a female DJ called DJ Annie Mac and artists and producers like Missy Elliot and Timbaland. Missy and Timbaland make brilliant beats and their songs have stayed relevant for years, which in itself shows how well known their music is and how timeless their songs are.

Since starting this workshop it has been more then I imagined. The passion from Fusion wanting to help us pursue our dreams has been touching and the time and effort our DJ tutors (Funk and Joss) have put in, has been incredible. The work these guys are putting in to teach us is great and all I wanna do is learn as much as possible. 

My highlights so far have been talking to the Choice FM DJ's and listening to all their advice. I spoke to DJ Abantree one to one and he gave me some great advice on DJ'ing and I even got to play a short mix for him, that was nerve wracking but very exciting.

Meera Sharma's MPXperience Day 2

I applied for music potential after coming across the advert on Live Magazine. I have always had a fascination with DJ'ing and it is something I have always wanted to try. When I saw that DV8 training where offering the chance for us to do so I jumped at it! 

My musical style is very broad I like most music everything from Drake, Rihanna to The Wanted and even Justin Bieber! I would say that these artists influence my musical work. 

The course was certainly more than I imagined it to be, it has been great from the hands on work to the industry professionals we have had come in and talk to us. 

I would say the highlight so far would be actually getting the chance to DJ and of course Angel coming in and talking to us.

Jay Abdul's MPXperience Day 3

1) I applied for Music Potential because it was exactly what I'd been looking for for quite sometime; an avenue through which I could learn more about my craft and the music industry as a whole, while also getting the opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals. 2) I am a Music Producer. My style revolves pre-dominantly around the Pop & Urban Pop genres, fused with a wide range of influences from other genres & other forms of media. 3) My biggest musical influences are Nate "Danja" Hills, Timbaland and The Neptunes. These are producers who have all built their brands on sustained Innovation, something which I greatly aspire to. 4) MPX has definitely impressed me, despite already having high expectations. Being quite a reserved person, I have particularly appreciated the steps the tutors have taken to promote comfortable interactions amongst us all. 5) I have really enjoyed getting to know all the tutors & my peers so far. I'm looking forward to the rest of the week!

Sara Teferi's MPXperience Day 3

1) I actually stumbled across Music Potential through an email I got from Choice FM. I didn't know what it was about or anything more than it was for young people getting into music industry. What stood out to me was that it was music and business related, great networking. 2) My musical style varies, from RnB, Hip Hop, to country music, and even house music. Just anything that makes my body moves! But my heart belongs to RnB. 3) Rihanna has been my biggest influences to date, her music, attitude, her swag. It has given me so confident in myself in the sense that I've notice a change in my style; I'm more bolder, my drive, my attitude to certain situations has changed. 4) MPX has impressed me. It has bombarded us with so much useful information, and kept us busy various activity! From interviewing, to editing, making our own choice; great responsibility. Since graduating this summer 2012, I'm finally gaining experience!! 5) The highlight for me so far, has to be when we interviewed Koko and Jade also Abrantee, and have met Angel, it was so simple, fun and informative. Building that relationship, and I never really considered radio as a career path so for me personally, Music Potential has opened my eyes into Radio production, which I'm so grateful for. James Mercer's MPXperience Day 3

1. I simply love music. Everywhere I am I have earphones. Music plays in background to every activity I carry out. 2. I can appreciate all genres of music, but I prefer hard hip-hop or sweet soul (neo-soul). Very different but very similar. I enjoy the extremes. 3. I am influenced mostly but Steve Stoute. I admire what he has done for music intellectually. He provides the bridge between urban music and the boardroom. 4. Joining the workshop I had no idea what to expect, however when I came across Choice FM DJ's and artists I knew I would learn a lot from the process. It has impressed me a lot so far. 5. The highlight for me since it started was the interpersonal skills workshop. It gives you a great insight into what to expect whilst being within the music business. This is doing any activity from being a singer to a researcher. Thank you very much for the opportunity, James Mercer

Joshua Grant's MPXperience Day 3

What made you apply for music potential?

I applied for music potential because I have a passion for the Radio industry and from the MPX I thought that I might learn new things and meet some of the right people.

How would you describe your musical style?

I'm not actually a musician, I'm more on the radio presenting and DJ side of things. The genre I play the most would be hip hop.

Who influences you with your work?

With my previous radio shows, I'd invite local musicians and interview them and end the show with a freestyle from that artist. my biggest influence for this is Tim Westwood, but also Charlie Sloth as they do a similar thing.

When you got selected for the workshop and you started, was it how you imagined it; or has MPX impressed you?

The workshop was similar to how I imagined, however it did surprise me when we had the opportunity to interview Kojo and Jade and also meet Angel.

Whats your highlight since you started?

My highlight so far was meeting Kojo and Jade as I've listened to them before on the radio, so meeting them in person was a great experience.

Day 5: Future's MPXperience

A good friend of mine (Dexter) mentioned the Music Potential event to me. From what he said it sounded very interesting so I attended the taster session in Deptford, which I enjoyed. So, when I was selected for MPX I made a decision to join the program. I'm part of a production team and our musical style varies to the particular mood we are in at the current time making the track. However, if I were to put our style into a category I would say it is along the lines of alternative urban pop, inspired by producers such as The Neptunes, Kanye West, Star-Gate and the likes of Labrinth. As a group, critics compare our overall style to artists such as Tinie Tempah, Rick Ross and Jay-Z. When the Music Potential team contacted me I was quite excited. I also felt lucky to be able to be a part of the experience and saw it as an opportunity to further my career. The workshop wasn't entirely what I had expected, although I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot from DJ Wonder within the five days. Also the Interpersonal Skills sessions gave me a better insight on how to come equipped into the industry. My highlights from this workshop was meeting everyone that was involved and all the contacts I have made so far. Hopefully there will be more contacts to be made at the next event on Dec 14th. Day 5: Maria Ferras MPXperience

I first heard of Music Potential through my course at DV8 and was told to spread the word. However, as a music lover I thought it would be interesting to go and see what it was all about.

Major influences in the industry have helped me to continue my growth as an artist throughout my life. Right now artists such as Jhene Aiko and Aaliyah play a huge part in inspiring my musical style. After hearing I got through to MPX, I was so humbled by the opportunity to share what I love doing and took the chance to get back into performing.

On the first day of the workshop I was so impressed and overwhelmed with the amount of talent in the room. I loved the atmosphere and the vibe everyone was giving off. We felt like a team after just a couple days in. It was awesome. My highlight so far for this week definitely has to be building my confidence to the point where I can perform in front of an audience. MPX has helped me get through my struggles and I'm so glad I decided to take part. Also just meeting so many different people with the same passion as me made the experience a whole even better!

Day 5: Darlene Charles' MPXperience

Music Potential seemed like a good opportunity to meet new people with similar interests and be inspired. The fact that Choice FM was involved made it more appealing.

I would describe my style as soul/pop/jazz/rR&B. The artists I love are Robyn, Regina Spektor, Lykke Li, David Bowie, Pink, Ella Fitzgerald, Kanye West and Grimes.

I was really happy and excited that I was selected to be part of something so great and positive. Basically, it was a lot more real life rather than hypothetical. The music that is being created around me could realistically be successful and do well in the charts.

To be honest there hasn't been a specific moment that I can pin point, it just feels like a constant stream of positivity and loads of fun.

Day 5: Kyle Simon's MPXperience

I applied to Music Potential because I felt it could help me gain more knowledge of the music industry, network and meet new people that do different types of music and have different abilities.

My music style is very similar to Drake. I think my main influence in music is Usher, because I love performing and I have always been dancing since I was a kid. Tracks like 'U Remind Me', 'Pop Ya Collar' and 'U Don't Have To Call' made me jump into singing and performing, but in the last six years I have been listening and writing lyrics about my life. Since hearing Kanye West and his old music I was inspired to speak more about my life.

I was a footballer in the past, I was playing semi professional football since the age of 14 and was offered to play as a professional at 16. However, I got into a lot of trouble with the crowd I hung with at the time and got stabbed in my knee with a screw driver. The incident almost led to my leg being amputated.

I spent the next 18 months wondering what to do, so I turned to my music again and here we are today. To be honest, I felt I wasn't gonna be picked as there were far better people with music abilities and different types of singers and rappers, but when I was picked I was exceptionally happy, because it gave me the chance to improve and show what I'm about.

I have achieved things in my life but it showed that when one door closes, another opens. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and I would love to recommend this chance for anyone. Honestly, it surprised me because in the first day I only knew one artist, but by the end of  that day I spoke to everyone and made a track with all the artists and it was a banger! lol

I have made a lot of friends and people that I would look out for and help if they ever needed it. There is too many highlight to calculate to be honest. I have love for everyone and the tracks that we made and the way we all connected was amazing.

MPX was literally a once in a lifetime for all of us as we were blessed with the skills and were here to help each other. We all created a bond and would love to have a reunion every so often.

I would love to thank everyone in Music Potential for giving us the opportunity and getting a great idea and being determined to pull it off. It showed that you were 'IN THE ZONE' let's make Wembley a success so we don't end up "FLOATING AWAY"

Day 5: Sabelo Jako's MPXperience

Music Potential was introduced to me by a friend who is in South Africa. He sent me one of the picture ads and, since I wasn't doing anything at the time, and was new to the country, I thought I'd give it a try.

I attended the workshop which was in Brixton and that was good; it helped me with my music writing techniques. And then came the MPX course... First of all, I was excited when I found out I had been chosen to join the group because I felt I really had something to offer. My influences include artists such as Eminem, R.Kelly and many more, because I pretty much listen to anything.

I honestly didn't know what to expect when the course started, but I was seriously blown away when I realised the amazing talent I shared the room with. I've really learned a lot from them in fact. Even the tutor, ShezAr did the her thing "BALANCE". She made me realise a lot of things when being an artist and I'm very thankful for that, not forgetting Fusion and Jammin though... If I was given the opportunity to make a request, I'd ask for one more week. Other than that, I think the experience was just too good for words.
