I'm a twenty year-old college student in New York City. Fascinated by vintage clothing, culture, and movies and especially New York Society of the 1920s-1960s.

“John, if I may fight through the dense jungle of your rhetoric, I’m getting a yes. Is that it?”

I keep Lucky Strikes in my case from time to time. Good tobacco, just a short smoke.

I tried to get his autograph several times in the later years of his life, unfortunately he must've been in poor health and unable to respond to my letters. It's a shame, he was a wonderful television personality!

The World is grand, awfully big and astonishingly beautiful, frequently thrilling--- But I love New York. -Dorothy Kilgallen
The last part of this quote is missing! So I added it... "But I love New York"

My latest purchase - Fifty “Bab” Ballads by W.S. Gilbert (of Gilbert and Sullivan fame.), printed in 1878.  Flipping through, I found this little gem. This is a great antidote to the Romantics..
"To Phoebe.  'Gentle, modest little flower,  Sweet epitome of May, Love me but for half an hour,  Love me, love me, little fay.' In your tiny shell-like ear, I should always be exclaiming If I loved you, Phoebe dear.  'Smiles that thrill from any distance Shed upon me while I sing! Please ecstaticize existence,  Love me, oh, thou fairy thing!' You'd perpetually hear,  If I loved you, fondly, madly; -  But I do not, Phoebe dear."
