Screams from Within #4: MAY 18 ANNOUNCEMENTS
WELCOME BACK TO SCREAMS FROM WITHIN, NOW WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SCREAMS! WHY, YOU ASK? BECAUSE TODAY WAS ANNOUNCEMENT DAY AND EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ONLY 1 ANNOUNCEMENT, I’M STILL VERY EXCITED. SO LET’S JUST JUMP INTO IT
SET ANNOUNCEMENTS
There were only three announcements as to sets this time but all three of them are extremely exciting.
It’s all come down to this. The story has been building up to a grand showdown between the Gatwatch and Nicol Bolas. But where could it take place? Now we know.
First: Return to Return to Ravnica.
Also known as GUILDS OF RAVNICA!
(It’s not the best picture, I know)
Guilds of Ravnica(GRN) has 259 cards and it releases on 5 October 2018 and it will feature five guilds of Ravnica: Selesnya, Boros, Golgari, Izzet, and Dimir.
Second: Return to Return to Return to Ravnica.
AKA Ravnica Allegiance.
Ravnica Allegiance(RNA) has 264 cards and releases in January 2019. It will feature the five guilds not featured in the GRN: Azorius, Rakdos, Gruul, Simic, and Orzhov.
There is a third set that takes place on Ravnica, but its name/other details haven’t been disclosed.
In the article announcing these sets, however, the author(whoever it is) says that “While the setting will be Ravnica, the focus will be on the culmination of the story and not the guilds.”
OTHER PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Question: Why go back to Ravnica if you can’t rep your favorite guild? Come on WotC, immersion ruined. Unplayable.
ANSWER: WotC delivers with Guild Kits! Guild Kits will contain a 60-card deck with cards from Ravnica block, RTR block, and the GRN block! But not only that, they will also contain guild-specific swag like pins, stickers, and spindown d20′s! The five guilds in GRN will have their Guild Kits released on 2 November 2018 and RNA Guild Kits release in February 2019.
Question: Is that IT? I thought this was supposed to be exciting!
Answer: First of all: Wow, you don’t think Ravnica is exciting? You should try out the RTR block/set limited formats. Second: No, that isn’t all! There’s one more small announcement, this time concerning Battlebond! Yes, more early spoilers!
World, meet Pir and Toothy, the cutest pair to ever fight in Valor’s Reach on Kylem!
These are sweet cards, but you know what’s really cool about them? PARTNER. PARTNER IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE BABYYYY!
For those who don’t know, Partner originally came to be in Commander: 2016 Edition. It meant that any two cards with Partner could both be your commander! These cards act the same way, but they can only be partnered with each other. Packs of Battlebond will always have both parnter cards in them, so you and your teammate can choose them both!
Well, that’s all for today! My next article will talk about more Battlebond cards! See ya then and thanks again for reading!

Brand New Brawl Updates!
The most recent news article created by Gavin Verhey brought some amazing news for brawl players. Here are the updates:
Standard Banlist and Brawl Banlist Separated
The new Brawl banlist includes:
Baral, Chief of Compliance
Smuggler’s Copter
Sorcerous Spyglass
Colorless Deck Changes
When building a colorless Brawl deck, you may now use any number of one type of the five basic lands. This means you can finally make a Karn, Scion of Urza deck or a Hope of Ghirapur deck.
Starting Life Total Change
1v1 games of Brawl now begin with each player at 20 life instead of 30. Games with 3+ players are not affected by this change.

Brawl Brew #2: Jodah, Archmage Eternal
Welcome to another Brawl article! Today we’ll be talking about Jodah, Archmage Eternal. Not only is he the only WUBRG general in Brawl, he is also the Infinity Gauntlet on a stick! This guy interested me when I watched the Brawl episode on Game Knights(the game took 5 hours before editing!). The deck is all about cheating big-ass stuff out before you should be able to cast them normally. Let’s go over Jimmy’s deck from the Game Knights episode.
(Note: Jimmy’s deck actually has 61 cards instead of 60- the actual amount of cards in a brawl deck is 59 plus one general.)
Jimmy Wong’s Stupid Pile of Cards that do Broken Things
Find out more about this deck, including statistics and other nerd stats HERE
The Game Plan
Step 1: Get Jodah on the battlefield ASAP.
This deck wants Jodah out as soon as possible to start doing broken stuff. It’s possible to get him out on turn 3 and play the stupid game on 4, although it’s not very likely.
Step 2: Play stupid stuff
Once you have Thanos on the battlefield, you can start playing stupid stuff. Zacama, Primal Calamity is amazing on turn five. Here’s an example of a god turn:
Untap, Upkeep, Draw
Main 1: Drop Zacama, Primal Calamity, untap all your lands. Then play Karn’s Temporal Sundering, giving yourself another turn. On your second turn, drop a Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh if you feel like it. Boom! It’s a just-add-Bolas Instant Board State™! Now on sale for the low, low price of your eternal commitment to Bolas, may his return come quickly and be found worthy.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: PROFIT!
Look, this deck either goes off or does nothing for a long time. If you like glass cannon decks, play this deck. If not, try something else.
The End
I’m not sure if I’m gonna do a lot more Brawl content going forward, with the whole Baral takeover(#BrawlIsOverParty) but I’m probably gonna play a lot of Baral-less Brawl with friends. Thanks again for tuning in and I’ll see you soon!

A Shanna Brawl Brew
OKAY. I’m convinced that Brawl is awesome and now I want to play it. So today, I’m gonna go over my first Brawl brew: My WG tokens deck featuring Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy.
(Note: I’ll be referring to the leader of a Brawl deck as a General.)
Another quick note about brews: The decklist in the screenshot below is subject to change for as long as I keep testing the deck. That means you should click the link right after the screenshot to see the current decklist.
The Deck
View the deck’s statistics, probabilities, and other stats for nerds HERE.
The Game Plan
This deck’s game plan is simple: Make tokens, play anthem effects, and swing in with Shanna and Friends for the win! But how exactly do we do that? Let’s find out.
Step 1: Play a 1-drop spell that either is a creature or that makes creatures.
This step isn’t as important as some other steps as there are only 3 cards in the deck that fit this criteria, but it is still great if you can get a creature out on turn 1 so that Shanna won’t be a 1/1 when you play her. If you somehow get a god hand, the best turn 1 I can think of is:
Forest, Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter, Mox Amber, Llanowar Elves (or Legion's Landing), pass.
The next turn, if you played Llanowar Elves, you’ll have 4 mana on turn 2, enough to cast Shanna and something like Servo Exhibition to make a 5/5 for 2. If you played Legion’s Landing, you’ll have 3 mana, enough to cast Shanna and Cartouche of Solidarity, to make a 4/4 for 2.
Step 2: Get a turn 2(or 3) Shanna.
This step is important because it allows us to get our commander out and start our onslaught ready.
Step 3: Play token creators and make Shanna huge, and then play permanent anthem effects.
This deck contains 13 cards that either create tokens or create tokens and give anthem effects. Use these cards to make an army and pump them with permanent anthem effects like:
Benalish Marshal
Oath of Ajani
Strength of the Pack
Wild Onslaught
Ramp into these if you need to.
Step 4: Ramp into something big.
This deck has several top-end creatures, and you’ll want to cast them as soon as possible. Some cards you may want to ramp into as early as possible include:
Ghalta, Primal Hunger
Approach of the Second Sun
Angel of Invention
Verdant Force
Shalai, Voice of Plenty
Step 5: Build into a huge swing.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to create a critical mass of tokens.
Step 6: ATTACK!
Finally, wage war with your opponents and attack. Give your biggest creatures trample with pump spells. Then move to attacks and win the game!
Playing Around your Opponents
This deck has one huge weakness: board wipes. If an opponent plays a board wipe or a sweeper, it becomes very hard to stabilize. That is why you bribe your opponents to not play white need to kill your opponents quickly.
The End
This post was a longer one, but you pulled through! Thanks for reading!

SfW #3: State of Standard(Pre-Dominaria)
Welcome back to Screams from Within! Are you tired of Dominaria yet? Well, I hope so because this isn’t another Dominaria article. It’s about Standard.
(I’ll be using stats from GP Seattle 2018.)
GP Seattle was a HUGE event, and it held a big ‘first’ for Magic. The top spot of the entire Standard event was Red Deck Wins(RDW) piloted by Gan Yan. The fact that he was piloting RDW isn’t the point here, though. Gan Yan is now the first player in history to go UNDEFEATED at a Grand Prix.
Gan Yan’s Mono-Red Equivalent to a Bat with Barbed Wire
Find out more about the deck, its probabilities, and other stuff HERE
Coming in second is a new version of the God-Pharaoh's Gift deck, UR Gift.
Grayson Robert’s UR Gift, aka. The Most Interesting Deck from GP Seattle
Find out more about the deck, its probabilities, and other stuff HERE
Finally, in third came a BR Aggro deck.
Gerry Thompson’s BR Aggro: It’s not Red Deck Wins, but it did get 3rd Place
Find out more about the deck, its probabilities, and other stuff HERE
Now, you may assume from these results that RDW is an oppressive deck in the format. However, Standard is actually way better than it was before. Today, RDW is about 10% of the meta(according to mtgtop8). Now, let’s go back to March 2017, and GP Barcelona.
A whopping HALF of decks were CopyCat/Mardu Aggro. This is, in my opinion, the worst period in Standard since Caw-Blade. RDW now is not even close to that dominant. Keep in mind that this is all before Dominaria. I don’t know how it’s going to change the format, but all I know is that it can’t possibly be that bad, can it?
Right?
The End
Well, that’s all I have for today, but I do have a Modern article coming soon for me to talk about, and it’s gonna be great because Modern is my favorite format. Thanks for reading SfW, and see you next time!

Screams from Within: Dominaria
Dominaria Prerelease weekend has passed and I can say for certain that Dominaria is a SWEET set. Call it a set review, call it just discussing Dominaria. Let’s talk about it in today’s article in Screams from Within.
Aesthetic/Rules Changes
Legendary Title Bar
These look AWESOME. I really enjoy these and I LOVE them in foil. Great change.
Flavor Text Separator(The Portal Line)
I appreciate this and it’s a nice little addition to the graphic design palette. It’s not subtle, but not Portal- levels of not subtle. Thumbs-up from me.
They/Their/Them Templating
I’m going to leave out the fact that using him/his/her/hers aren’t inclusive to genderfluid/nonbinary/etc. people because this discussion has been had a lot and I personally believe this is a good change. That aside, this is a good change solely because this new templating takes up less space on a card. Another good change.
“Add” Phrasing Changes
This is the only change I’m not completely on board with. I think this’ll grow on me in time, but right now it doesn’t strike me as necessary. However, the Llanowar Elves Open House promo with the centered text looks SWEET and I NEED THREE MORE FOR MY PLAYSET.
Planeswalker Redirection Rule
I am so happy to see this change. When I was first learning how to play, I was told I couldn’t Lightning Strike an Ashiok(I started playing around M14), but then I started to play Burn in Modern and I learned about Planeswalker Redirection. It’s too complicated and cards like Leyline of Sanctity stops you from bolting a Jace when it shouldn’t. A great change.
“This spell” Templating Changes
Another change that frees up space on cards is always welcome. It doesn’t make anything confusing, so another thumbs-up.
The Actual Set
Dominaria has become my favorite set in recent years, even before its actual release. The themes and archetypes are all viable and unique. The saga cards all look awesome and they’re fun to play with. Yargle alone makes the set a 10/10 in my book, but since the rest of the set is so good I’ll give it a 20/10.
In Conclusion...
Dominaria is awesome and you should play the limited environment this weekend for Draft Weekend.
I hope you enjoyed this installment of Screams from Within! I have multiple more ideas for SfW going forward, and most of them aren’t about Dominaria. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

The Dominaria Prerelease Guide
What’s a prerelease? A prerelease is an event where you get to open six packs of the new set a week early and build a deck. You then play in a tournament. Sound good? Great. Now let’s get on to the archetypes of the set and what else you get at prerelease.
What You Get
What do you even get at prerelease?
This is a prerelease kit. With it, you get 6 packs of Dominaria, a spindown d20, a foil date-stamped rare or mythic rare from Dominaria, and a random foil date-stamped legendary creature from Dominaria.
How to Build a Deck
A deck at prerelease(or at any limited event) can be at least 40 cards. When you open your packs, separate the cards into piles based on color. Then you need to find out what to play.
Archetypes
In White/Blue or Blue/Black, you have Historic. For WU, you want Raff Capashen and a bunch of historic stuff/historic payoffs. In UB, you want cards like Cabal Paladin.
Then in Black/Red, you have Aggro. You don’t need payoff cards for historic or kicker, just spells and creatures that help you turn your dudes sideways.
Red/Green: Kicker. In this deck, you want cards that ramp like Llanowar Elves and payoff cards like Hallar, the Firefletcher.
Then you have Green/White Tokens. Play Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy or similar cards that care about you having creatures. Then, play cards like Charge and Wild Onslaught to swing in for the win.
Legendary creatures are in White/Black. If you get a lot of legendary creatures, play this deck. Arvad the Cursed is great in this deck, but sadly Yargle is not.
Blue/Red Wizards is my favorite archetype in the format. Look for cards like Adeliz and Wizard’s Lightning/Retort.
Black/Green has Saproling Sacrifice, and Slimefoot, the Stowaway is one of the best cards in this deck. Play it only if you have a lot of the specific cards.
Red/White uses a lot of Equipment and Auras. Play Danitha Capashen, Paragon, Valduk, Keeper of the Flame, and/or Tiana, Ship’s Caretaker in this one.
Finally, Green/Blue Ramp is pretty decent but only if you have a lot of payoff cards like Tatyova, Bethnic Druid is good but only if you can actually get them into play.
For more information about Archetypes, go to this link.
Ideal Deck Builds
Here are some infographics from Wizards that I took from them to show you. Here’s where I found them so you can read more about specific deckbuilding:

^(This one will be in your Prerelease Kit.)^
Good luck at prerelease and may you draw well. See you next time!

Screams from Within: Legendary Sorceries
Welcome to Screams from Within!
Screams from Within(or SfW for short) is a new series I’m starting where I give my opinions about different topics in the Magic world. There won’t be a set schedule or set topic, but I’m going to start out with different mechanics, and there’s no better place to start than with Dominaria! Today I’ll be talking about Legendary Sorceries. Let’s get started.
Spellshock
What the heck even is a legendary sorcery? Well, I have one here to show you, in case you’ve been living under a freaking rock:

Urza’s Ruinous Blast 4W
Legendary Sorcery
(You may cast a legendary sorcery only if you control a legendary creature or planeswalker)
Exile all nonland permanents that aren’t legendary.
A legendary sorcery acts just like a regular one, with one exception: You may only cast one if you control a legendary creature or planeswalker. Once you pay the cost and cast it, it doesn’t matter what happens to your legendary creatures or planeswalkers. Your opponent can’t kill a legendary creature or planeswalker in response to make the legendary sorcery fizzle.
Legendary sorceries are powerful spells(well, at least, some of them are) and they all feature amazing art by the endlessly-talented Noah Bradley. Even if the card isn’t bonkers, at least the art is.
Nagging Thoughts
Legendary sorceries are sweet. I just have one problem with them: there aren’t as many as I’d like. However, I can respect the fact that all of the cards in the cycle needed to have historical significance on Dominaria. For example, Urza’s Ruinous Blast is depicting Urza using the Golgothian Sylex. I know that there have been a TON of historic events that have taken place on Dominaria, but not all of them would make sense to new players.
Glorious End
Well, that does it for now. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time.
This is Mr. Fascismo, signing out.

Dominaria Spoilers: Dominaria’s Greatest Hits
Alright, here we are. I’m done discussing the mythics but before the full set releases, I’d like to go over my favorite cards in the set.
Mythics
These are my favorite mythics in the set. Since I’ve talked about all of them, I’ll just provide a Scryfall link.
Muldrotha, the Gravetide
Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain
Mox Amber
Karn, Scion of Urza
Rares
Okay. These are ones I’ll discuss. Not exactly at length, but I’ll discuss them.

Steel Leaf Champion GGG
Creature- Elf Knight
Steel Leaf Champion can’t be blocked by creatures with power 2 or less.
5/4
One eye open to see the truth of the world. One eye covered to gaze at the goddess within.
This card is part of a cycle of 3-cost creatures that all cost 3 of the same color and this is my favorite of the bunch. A 3 mana 5/4 with upside, no matter how aggressively costed, is extremely good. There’s definitely a mono-green beatdown deck in the works from me, and this card is a 4-of.

Marwyn, the Nurturer 2G
Legendary Creature- Elf Druid
Whenever another Elf enters the battlefield under your control, put a +1/+1 counter on Marwyn, the Nurturer.
{T}: Add an amount of {G} equal to Marwyn’s power.
Midwife to mothers and leader to all.
I play elves in modern and I’m super interested to see if this card is as good as it looks. You can CoCo into it, you can reasonably Chord of Calling for it, and it makes a lot of mana. What more do you want?

Helm of the Host 4
Legendary Artifact — Equipment
At the beginning of combat on your turn, create a token that’s a copy of equipped creature, except the token isn’t legendary if equipped creature is legendary. That token gains haste.
Equip {5}
Forged out of flowstone for the queen of Vesuva.
If you equip this to Aurelia, the Warleader, you win the game.
If you equip this to Combat Celebrant, you win the game.
If you equip this to Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, you win the game.
If you equip this to Godo, Bandit Warlord, you win the game.
If you equip this to Timestream Navigator, you win the game.
Verdict: Another card that goes infinite with Kiki-Jiki.

Haphazard Bombardment 5R
Enchantment
When Haphazard Bombardment enters the battlefield, choose four nonenchantment permanents you don’t control and put an aim counter on each of them.
At the beginning of your end step, if two or more permanents you don’t control have an aim counter on them, destroy one of those permanents at random.
This card is another crazy bonkers red enchantment in commander. Enough said. Verdict: Bulk card.
Uncommons

Damping Sphere 2
Artifact
If a land is tapped for two or more mana, it produces {C} instead of any other type and amount.
Each spell a player casts costs {1} more to cast for each other spell that player has cast this turn.
A Thran relic, it has spent ten thousand years doing absolutely nothing.
This card is some AWESOME Modern sideboard tech. Here’s a list of decks that it hoses:
Storm and its variants
Tron and its variants
Elves(Although it only really gets Nykthos)
Any other deck that wants to cast more than one spell each turn
Oops! All Spells!
Legacy Elves
And more!

Adeliz, the Cinder Wind 1UR
Legendary Creature- Human Wizard
Flying, Haste
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, Wizards you control get +1/+1 until end of turn.
2/2
The passionate intensity of the Ghitu tempered by the cool insight of Tolarian training.
I am in love with the wizard tribal theme in Dominaria. This card is a sweet build-around in limited, giving all your wizards pseudo-prowess. The flying and haste parts are cool too.

Raff Capashen, Ship’s Mage 2WU
Legendary Creature-Human Wizard
Flash
Flying
You may cast historic spells as though they had flash. (Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic.)
3/3
THIS CARD IS BONKERS IN THE HISTORIC DECK. Especially at uncommon. Here’s a cool list of mythics you could flash in with this(in WU):
Karn(The new one)
History of Benalia
Lyra Dawnbringer
Mox Amber
Teferi(The new one)
Weatherlight
I rest my case.

Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy GW
Legendary Creature- Human Warrior
Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy can’t be the target of abilities your opponents control.
Shanna gets +1/+1 for each creature you control.
0/0
“I am heir to many treasures. None is as precious as knowing how my ancestor lived her life.”
It’s not Sisay, but she’s extremely good in tokens.

Wizard’s Lightning 2R
Instant
This spell costs {2} less to cast if you control a Wizard.
Wizard’s Lightning deals 3 damage to any target.
“The study of magic began when the first mage taught herself to throw lightning.” —Naban, Dean of Iteration
This card is unplayable.
Unless you’re in wizards. This card is just Lightning Bolt if you control a wizard. Lightning Bolt hasn’t been in standard since M11- SINCE 2010. It was considered too powerful. Now it’s back. But worse.

Wizard’s Retort 1UU
Instant
This spell costs {1} less to cast if you control a Wizard.
Counter target spell.
“The second mage learned to dissipate blasts of lightning. Threat and response: thus did the study of magic progress.” —Naban, Dean of Iteration
This card is Counterspell if you control a wizard. Counter target spell for UU. No restrictions as long as you control a wizard. This card is bonkers.
Commons

Arcane Flight U
Enchantment- Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has flying.
This card is awesome if you just want to get in there, especially with a card I’ll talk about later. Plus, it has a flying kitty!

Artificer’s Assistant U
Creature- Bird
Flying
Whenever you cast a historic spell, scry 1.
1/1
Another great card in the historic deck. Not much more to say here.

Broken Bond 1G
Sorcery
Destroy target artifact or enchantment. You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
This is Naturalize with upside. Could it see play in pauper? Probably.

Gideon’s Reproach 1W
Instant
Gideon’s Reproach deals 4 damage to target attacking or blocking creature.
I don’t actually have anything to say about the card itself, I just want to say that I love the art. More Chad punching people in the face, please!

Healing Grace W
Instant
Prevent the next 3 damage that would be done to any target this turn by a source of your choice. You gain 3 life.
This is just Healing Salve but you get to choose both modes. Has power creep gone too far?
just kidding this card is terrible

Llanowar Elves G
Creature- Elf Druid
{T}: Add {G}.
1/1
This is a sweet reprint because not only is it a 1-mana dork(A card R&D has been actively avoiding recently) but it is also at common. Not only unexpected, but nice as well.
Wrap-Up
Well, it’s finally here. The final spoilers post is here. Thank goodness. It took me a while, but I finally finished. Thanks for reading! But before I go, I’d like to show you my favorite card of the set. Here it is:

The Best Online Tools for Magic: the Gathering
The Beginning
A lot of people use a lot of different apps/websites for Magic. Here are some awesome tools to use. All of these are free(I’m a cheapskate) and they’re all awesome. So let’s just jump into it.
Scryfall
You may have noticed that I provide links to cards that I mention in my other posts. These links all go to scryfall. Scryfall has a great UI, it’s fast, and it can use almost any search restriction you want.
MTGGoldfish
This website is where I look at the metagame in almost any format. There you can also find articles from great people such as Seth(Proooooooooooobably better known as SaffronOlive) and more recently, Magic Arena articles by George Gondim. I adore MTGGoldish and I think y’all will too.
Deckstats.net
Deckstats.net is a neat deckbuilding website that, once you build your deck, shows you everything from mana distribution to the probability of drawing a certain card on a certain turn.
/r/magicTCG
The Magic subreddit, as harsh as its mods are, is the single best place to find spoilers for any set besides the sources themselves. You can’t check everywhere at once, but you can with this subreddit.
Other awesome Magic subreddits:
/r/pauper
/r/EDH
/r/ModernMagic
/r/MagicArena
All of these are awesome tools to help you improve.
If you want more of these tools, or just want to hear more of the same stuff I literally just told you, watch the Professor’s video.
Thanks again for reading!

Dominaria Spoilers: Colorless Mythics
HERE WE ARE, THE LAST POST FOR MYTHICS. I’M FINALLY DONE. LET’S JUST JUMP INTO IT.

Karn, Scion of Urza 4
Legendary Planeswalker- Karn
+1: Reveal the top two cards of your library. An opponent chooses one of them. Put that card into your hand and exile the other with a silver counter on it.
−1: Put a card you own with a silver counter on it from exile into your hand.
−2: Create a 0/0 colorless Construct artifact creature token with “This creature gets +1/+1 for each artifact you control.”
5 Loyalty
HE’S BACK AND HE’S NOT BROKEN THIS TIME. Look, people won’t like this Karn as much because he isn’t Karn Liberated, and that’s understandable. This version of Karn, however, is still really sweet. He can ultimate right away, and he draws you cards using his +1 and -1. He also uses exile, which is something both Karns do. I’m really not sure how this is gonna do in Standard, but I can say for sure that I love this card.

Mox Amber 0
Legendary Artifact
{T}: Add one mana of any color among legendary creatures and planeswalkers you control.
A moment in time made tangible, it has the power to realize epic visions.
Guys, this is another Mox. For those who don’t know, this card is a callback to the famous Moxen; Mox Pearl, Mox Sapphire, Mox Jet, Mox Ruby, and Mox Emerald. These are all 0-cost mana rocks that tap for white, blue, black, red, and green respectively. With them, you could have 2 mana on turn 1, which is a huge advantage. This one, however, isn’t as powerful. It’s still a 0-mana artifact that taps for mana, yes, but it requires you to control a legendary creature or planeswalker. In the right deck, this could almost always be on. In Commander, this card essentially says “Tap to add one mana of any color. Activate this ability only if you control your commander.”
Verdict: If the legendary creatures deck is a thing in Standard, this card is an auto-include. If not, it’s still great in commander.

Weatherlight 4
Legendary Artifact- Vehicle
Flying
Whenever Weatherlight deals combat damage to a player, look at the top five cards of your library. You may reveal a historic card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. (Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic.)
Crew 3
4/5
And here we are. The final mythic that I go over is the Weatherlight. Look, I haven’t been playing for long enough to fully appreciate the awesomeness of this card flavor-wise. But if I know one thing, it’s that this card is so much better than Skyship Weatherlight. R&D definitely learned their lesson when designing good vehicles(See: Heart of Kiran), but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t done designing cool ones. Weatherlight is a sweet card regardless of its power level. And guess what? All of the new Weatherlight crew(except Slimefoot, the Stowaway and Shanna) can crew it alone! Flavor win! Verdict: This card is sweet and I want it.

Dominaria Spoilers: Multicolored Mythics
Here we are; the second to last preview post on mythics. This time, we’ve got 4 cards to go over, and I’ll go over them all in one post.

Teferi, Hero of Dominaria 3WU
Legendary Planeswalker- Teferi
+1: Draw a card. At the beginning of the next end step, untap two lands.
−3: Put target nonland permanent into its owner’s library third from the top.
−8: You get an emblem with “Whenever you draw a card, exile target permanent an opponent controls.”
4 Loyalty
He’s back. Teferi is another sweet card that I just love. He protects himself, draws you cards, and just gets rid of things once you hit his ultimate. At 5 mana, he’s probably a top end in a WU control deck if he’ll be played at all. However, since you can use him as a commander in Brawl, I think that’s where he’ll be best. Verdict: Cool card, good in Brawl.

Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain 2UR
Legendary Creature- Human Artificer
Whenever you cast a historic spell, draw a card. (Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic.)
As she took the wheel of the Weatherlight for the first time in a millennium, Jhoira knew she’d been right to restore the ship. Anything was possible now.
WHAT THE HECK NO WAY
So I don’t know how much of a splash this is gonna make in Standard but OH MY GOODNESS GRAVY IT’S A UR ARTIFACTS COMMANDER. Jhoira makes this deck a reality. People have wanted a commander for UR artifacts since... forever! But now that this card is here, players can finally create the UR-tifacts decks of their dreams. I’m not sorry. Verdict: UR ARTIFACTS COMMANDER YEAAAAAH BOI

Darigaaz Reincarnated 4BRG
Legendary Creature- Dragon
Flying, Trample, Haste
If Darigaaz Reincarnated would die, instead exile it with three egg counters on it.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if Darigaaz is exiled with an egg counter on it, remove an egg counter from it. Then if Darigaaz has no egg counters on it, return it to the battlefield.
7/7
Okay. This card, if I’m being honest, isn’t that great in most constructed formats. A 7 mana 7/7 is cool in limited, but not really anywhere else. Verdict: Maybe good in limited?

Muldrotha, the Gravetide 3BGU
Legendary Creature- Elemental Avatar
During each of your turns, you may play up to one permanent card of each permanent type from your graveyard. (If a card has multiple permanent types, choose one as you play it.)
“My child grew from rot and ruin, yet she bloomed.” — Multani
6/6
Again, this card is not great in standard, or limited even. But this is the multicolored mythic that I am most excited for. I really want to build a commander deck around this card. Think about it! Strip Mine-ing something and then re-playing it and doing it again! SO MUCH VALUE! Verdict: This card is mostly for commander.
Wow, I actually got this done faster than I thought I would. Well, see you next time, when we go over the last three mythics in the set. See ya!

Dominaria Spoilers: A Green Mythic
Hey, I’m back! Today I want to discuss the only mono-green mythic in Dominaria:

Multani, Vavimaya’s Avatar 4GG
Legendary Creature- Elemental Avatar
Reach, Trample
Reach, trample
Multani, Yavimaya’s Avatar gets +1/+1 for each land you control and each land card in your graveyard.
{1}{G}, Return two lands you control to their owner’s hand: Return Multani from your graveyard to your hand.
This card likely won’t see play in standard but it will definitely be in any commander deck that cares about lands(Omnath, Locus of Rage and Gitrog Monster, for example). Often it’ll be a 6/6, but in the right commander deck, it could be a 10/10 or maybe even a 15/15. Verdict: This card is sweet in commander, but I don’t see it going anywhere else.
There we go!
More spoilers up ahead. The next post will be about multicolored creatures(or my favorite other spoliers, or something else, I don’t know) but I’m not sure how many cards I’ll be able to write for in one post. We’ll see how it goes.
