hey all, swear i haven't vanished lol. the queue ran dry and i didnt notice for a while. Not gonna be posting here frequently for the time being as my tumbleweed brain kind of blew away in the wind.

To be frank this post is mainly for me to remember what my major plans were when I do come back to this. Those being reference sheets for Avery and Berk, and the episode ranking and review.

And another good update, a coworker of mine recently revealed they're also a fan and have been for years! I've managed to hook them back in lol. The neverending quest to expand the fanbase and get season 5 continues

Antauri actually does(did) have purple fur, it was just so dark that it doesnt look like it unless under dramatic lighting, much like how some black cats look brown under certain lighting. this is why his color theming is purple

i dont know why i just remembered this but also realized theyre not even speaking english theyre speaking monkey language how the Hell do they have accents. what does that imply. Otto gets a british accent when he becomes hyperintelligent in the Wigglenog episode also.

Reviewing my childhood cartoon, I saw the "Episode Thingy" I fell in love with the animated series and saw the characters from a new angle. Like the infected Gibson's design, but I'm still unhappy with his neck (he's not)

What is in these orb rooms?

It's a mystery.

One episode, it could be Gibson's lab.

And the other the Neutron generator core.

One episode it's the Sick Bay.

The other, there is no sick bay, they are just...

... LAYING THERE. With the gurney's as far away from the wall of course...

(And for some reason an IV in the head. I never noticed that as a kid. I mean it makes sense, but STILL.)

Other episodes, it's the lab again.

Other episodes it's the generator room.

What room is it today? You'll never know.

But seriously.

WHY DID THEY DO THIS?

(Look, I've hated this thing with the gurneys since I was a kid and seeing THIS and Yu-Gi-Oh's weird thing with beds being in the middle of really large rooms instead of against a wall, has legit been an endless source of mild irritation.)

was there ever a reason given as to why they need those little breathing apparatuses underwater, but need nothing in the vacuum of space despite being cyborgs and not fully robotic? i might be reading too much into this lol

(dont even get me started on the spatial impossibilities of the super robot. where does the lab go when theyre in the separated vehicles. where are their bedrooms. where is the training room. inquiring minds want to know)

here's a compilation of all the scenes removed from the HD release of srmt! I rewatched all 52 episodes twice for the footage above : ] sorry some of the scenes only have low quality uploads available.

there were over 50 scenes cut, nearly all of which were under 3 seconds long.

between all of season one and two, only 4 scenes were cut. in contrast, every episode except two of season 4 had content cut.

Immediately upon meeting Mandarin for the first time Avery instantly ascertains that he's Antauri's terrible toxic ex and tells the team as much. which is a surprise to everyone but especially Antauri as they never told the team they'd been together. When asked how he knew Avery simply answered "his rancid vibes" which clarified nothing and left Antauri more distressed than when the conversation started.

I feel like one of the ways the monkey team shows affection is by linking tails with each other. Probably most common between Otto and Antauri, Otto pulling Antauri around while he's meditating/floating (he looks like a very shiny balloon and Sparx will not let him forget that) because they want to share space but aren't necessarily doing the same things.

Gibson is probably slightly touch-averse and would rather they ask first while Otto's pretty much open to anyone just grabbing on if they need a little support. Sparx doesn't like admitting he wants someone to hold onto until someone (usually Nova or Otto) takes the initiative and then he just refuses to let go for ages. Nova will just do it casually, not for any real reason other than she likes being around them. Antauri, like Gibson, is touch-averse imo and would rather talk and sit together than maintain contact.

(also pulling my oc into this on the occasion Gibson is seeking physical comfort he'll wrap his tail around Avery's super carefully, trying not to pull seeing as Avery's tail is nowhere as prehensile as his own. Avery also would rather people ask first before touching him so all their interactions are just "please can i hold your tail" "is it ok if i hug you" "i'd like to kiss you if that's alright" spontaneity is not in these nerds' vocabulary)

Since the monkey team can't speak human language until the end of season two, how would his application work? He definitely has the knowledge of a doctorate, or even multiple, but he decidedly introduces himself as Mister Hal Gibson. He's the kind of guy who would absolutely not let anyone forget he had the title of doctor if he had one officially. Allow me to offer a counter solution: he's in the vents sitting in on every class, watching and learning and stealing books from the library (but always returning them before they're due), sneaking into the labs and trying and retrying the studies currently being done by the various classes at the university. The science department suddenly has a problem where someone they can't identify is now correcting Their work with cited evidence. He probably did multiple PhDs at a time like this.

Also this is how Otto earned the knowledge of an engineering degree, and how he studied mechanics.

He'd probably still go back once humans can understand him and actually get his degree though, if just for the fancy title.
