Have yall ever touched on the connection between Arthur and Are You Afraid of the Dark? I’m a big fan of both noticed a lot of familiar voices! Off the top of my head--Jodie Resther (Francine) played Kiki (OG Midnight Society member), Vanessa Lengies (Emily), played Vange (2nd gen Midnight Society member) and Arthur Holden (Mr. Ratburn) had roles in 3 different AYAOTD episodes. Muffy, Buster, and OG Arthur made AYAOTD appearances, too! ig it makes sense since they're both 90s canadian kids shows

You know, we never did, those are great observations! The universe of 90s Canadian kids productions was a small one lol

gosh… it’s so hard hard to believe Arthur has been going so long and is now ending. even thought i kind of thought it would keep going forever, it’s still really impressive to keep a kid’s program in the air for 25 seasons!!

anyway, i grew up with these guys and will always love them. this program more than any other was so important to me, and i have now have that bittersweet feeling of watching a childhood friend grow up and move away. i will miss them, but i’m so glad they were in my life and i’m grateful that they were always there for me.

congrats to marc brown, pbs, etc on a record-breaking run, and thank you to everyone who made this show what it was for me and so many others 💕

It always annoyed the hell out of me how they completely retconned the fact these two were friends in Nemo’s intro ep in order to opt for a generic Cat vs Dog dynamic later on.

I’ve been holding onto those feelings of bitterness since I was 6 and now I get to draw them being friends as much as I want.

Considering this from the vantage of Arthur writing this as graphic novels... I accept as canon that Muffy and Francine have twin girls.

They are canonically together anyway, as further evidenced on this sick hoodie available from PBS Kids. The art isn't astounding since it's the Flash style, but I can't help but appreciate their audacity/(loving) in this time. <3

i can’t stop thinking about arthur’s nightmare in “arthur rides the bandwagon” where adult versions of his friends and their kids teased him for not having a woogle and francine and muffy were implied to be moms of twin girls
