i know complaining about fandoms and their inability to READ and THINK A LITTLE MORE is redundant but i saw someone say something along the lines of "what if mizi didnt actually love sua and it was just a part of her facade to survive" in reference to the latest comic and it just really pissed me off. granted i dont interact with alnst fans so it doesnt really matter to me but i just know this is going to spawn a whole new misinterpretation that villainizes mizi (which is funny because that is what she is doing to herself!). the new illustration doesnt help either (not to say its not gorgeous and full of symbolism) its just that alien stage fans most of the time cant handle shit thats deeper than a puddle. especially if it involves women, because many of them were complaining about how boring and underdeveloped mizi and mzsu were (with ivti being sooo much more interesting! you dont understand it has nothing to do with them being men!!!!! its just that they have so much more material!!!!!! my toxic yaoi!!!!!)

i dont know if ive missed something but im wondering ... why was baoyu specifically chosen to be the jade? his eye was shown not to be natural, and its mentioned that his arrival was awaited, so its not like they randomly picked a baby (plus he has the eye in every mirror world). like there had to be something specific about him that made the elders favor him?

good canto but i dont like the lei heng fight. his first appearance at least gave us ryoshu hints but the insanely annoying fight served no point in my eyes other than hype moments and aura. i get that its supposed to show us how much weaker the sinners are yadda yadda but IDGAF it was stupidly unfun too. zilu and jia qiu were goated as hell though

MORE COMPLAINING but daiyu references were everywhere from the season title to the flower burial to the opening quotes and yet daiyu as a character was so sidelined. once again yes dont expect 1:1 adaptations of the books but shes still a main character! not just that but her and baoyus soulmateism was so watered down to the point of it being funny. whatever. im still surprised that xichun of all people was the most relevant side character
