swiss army man (2016) is excellent, as is there will be blood (2007) and the fabelmans (2022). being flynn (2012) and dumb money (2023) are pretty good too and you should watch all of them several times until you are what we in the business refer to as “too far gone”

today is a big day for me. one year ago today i got back into collecting transformers.

i’ve loved transformers for as long as i can remember and have quite the collection from when i was a kid, but it had been quite a few years since i last acquired a new one.

one toy that i had always wanted was a TFA earth mode optimus, as i had the rest of the main cast except for him. i never ended up getting that figure for two reasons. the first was that he was always a bit more money than i could afford, and the second reason was this guy.

i found him online one day in april and subsequently yapped about him so much that my dad bought him for me behind my back. and one year ago today he arrived, filling the TFA optimus shaped hole in my soul.

this last year has been simultaneously been of the best and worst that i have ever lived. i’ve grown a lot over this last year, learning a lot about myself and who i am but also being the unhappiest i have ever been. we’re working on it, but i am definitely not ok right now and it’s going to take a lot of time and effort to be ok again. but regardless of whether i’m ok or not, the important thing here is that i acquired 20 additional toys.

yes they were expensive (fortunately lego optimus was a christmas gift from my parents so i didn’t have to pay for him myself) but honestly i don’t care. i love them all and they make me happy.they are so so incredibly special to me and seem on my them on my shelf every day brings me more joy that most things these days. sure half of them may have the result of oomf making me drive her to the mall, but everything i just said still holds true. i love each and every one of them and wouldn’t trade them for anything.

i don’t really now how to end this post since i usually just post silly pics of my toys and little jokes, so i’ll end this things with my favorite lyric from Faith No More, which also turned out to be my grad quote for high i submitted before all this happened:
