Looking out my window this morning, I was a little pissed. There’s no snow. None. We should have a nice blanket of the stuff covering everything, but we got nothing. I was invited out to Kaarin’s family cabin known as The Butterfly on Newman Lake that her great-great grandfather built in 1910. It may be their last summer in the cabin, so they wanted some of the spaces and moments documented. The family tradition of the children helping with the dishes after dinner, playtime with Aunt Coco, and even a small moment of comfort from Kaarin after her daughter Lexi hit her head on a table, are all but a small sample of the moments that have taken place in this cabin over the past 109 years. Independence Point in downtown Coeur d’Alene was a popular place for me this afternoon. I started with a headshot session that had to be rescheduled due to wind. But then there was my kite boarding neighbor taking advantage of windy conditions. Then I saw my buddy Matt and his two boys.
