For the past week or so, we've been saying "wow, thank you Lord" at least 10 time each. Walking into this home humbles us daily because God far exceeded our expectations on so many levels. There are so many distractions in this world that will literally cause you to re-think where you are and where you are going. You must control what and who you allow to influence you or you will find yourself going in circles always doing this then that, never stable or consistent with anything. God recently shared with me that whenever I get distracted I need to ask myself "What REALLY matters in this moment?" This question causes me to re-focus and to stay on course with the assignment He has called me to. For me what really matters is: 1) Growing in my relationship with the Lord & drawing closer to Him DAILY. 2.) Having a healthy marriage & family (in every area) 3.) Loving on others Everything else including "my dreams" has to take a back seat to these things. My pastor preached recently when you give up your dreams for Gods dream, you win. Fulfilling Gods dream is what REALLY matters. That's my focus daily. Celebrate others but stay focused. There lane is their lane. What God has for you IS for you. Wait for it, pray for it, but stay focused on what really matters. 👆 #Christian #Inspiration #God #Marriage

Before we walk into a new season next week, we decided to enrich our marriage at @gatewaypeople and @marriagetoday XO Marriage Conference. This is our first marriage conference but our second major marriage event. We learn so much at these events. Marriage truly is an empty box when you kiss on the wedding day. The health of your marriage is what you allow to go into the box. We decided to keep God first during the 1 year and 8 months that's we've been married and have seen God do amazing things! Unimaginable things. I would like to share more but all in time. I've had to let go of my "me" dreams for "we" dreams and we both let go of any and all expectations that were not Gods will. He brought peace and a clear vision. Then He gave us patience to wait for it. Now, were enjoying each other and learning to love like Christ. It's a daily effort. I'm a huge work in progress. Lol, but as we take our time and take the limits off of God He reveals the greater purpose. Our goal is press into Him while loving on others. This Valentine's Day, love on someone. In 2006 I stood at this door on the coast of Ghana in a slave castle. You see, this was the last door the slaves saw before leaving the only home they ever knew. Imagine being stripped from your family, told to walk hundreds of miles in chains, thrown into dark pits. The last that you will ever see of your country is this door. Above it says, "The door of no return". Beyond the doors is the ocean where the slave shipped docked. Many didn't last the walk to the castle. Many died in the castle. If you made it past this door you had a slim chance of surviving the ship ride to America. Going to Ghana has taught me the blood that runs through my veins are those full of persistence and the refusal to die and give up. We are the Africa diaspora (Africans abroad). The locals ran up to us and said, "Welcome home". I about cried my eyes out. It was an emotion that I didn't know existed. People welcomed me back to home I never knew. In honor of black history, I post this as a reminder that we must never allow ourselves to forget how strong we are. Never put yourselves down or feel inferior. Hold you head high! Your black is beautiful! Your bloodline survived unimaginable circumstances. Celebrate each other, love ALL people in ALL shades and aim to spread the peace you would have wanted for those that suffered before you. There were some people behind the scenes that made it ALL come together that we want to publicly thank. @lynndrodgers for keeping us on schedule and watching over the speakers! You know your stuff girl! No one can do it like you! @mrjefftyler for your amazing gift of speaking and MC! Humble, willing to serve, we are so grateful for you bro! (Future tele-evangelist!) @christinarobertson for registration and for being my right hand girl, thank you for every encouraging word. It made a HUGE difference! To my husband (not in IG) for coordinating the sound, music, video and LiveStream. Without you I couldn't have done this. You're the air beneath my wings and I love you forever! Thank you for taking these adventures with me always supporting and serving others.
