This is my piece for the @southlandszine, which will be coming out later in the year! Grian's final kill on Mumbo and Jimmy at the end of last life rots my brain on the daily and I was so happy to get to draw a full piece representing it.

realised people might also be interested in the designs i did while sketching out stuff for my southlands zine piece . i didn't end up including most of the southlanders (and i changed jimmy's trousers) but they were neat ideation :D, wanted to make them all somewhat unified in like uniform-adjacent wear but with varying silhouettes and stylisation

oh crud i was gonna post this 4 hours ago, ANYWAY

I have been drawing the same two pieces for the entirety of the last month and I can feel burnout creeping up to me over the horizon so i am opening the floor to any sketch requests any of you folks have

it'll likely take me a couple weeks to get around to them as I finish off my two current pieces but I really need some fun stuff to draw to ease off from these two massive endeavours - happy to draw any life series / hermitcraft / AU of those characters stuff or other fandoms ive been in if you're somehow following me from the before times- you're all my only hope against the threat of burnout 🥺

A break from your regularly scheduled minecraft posting...

I've always been really uncomfortable with backgrounds, it's not that I couldn't draw them, just that I had no flow in my process of creating them meaning they always took forever and thus I always avoided doing them whenever I could.

So end of last year I decided to try and change that. I set myself the challenge to spend ~1 hour drawing a background each day and just see what happened.

I didn't actually manage every day and I only actually ended up with 19 days (unpleasantly unround), but I do think I'm in a much better place art-wise after doing this.

I followed this prompt list I found online by @/uusikuuu on instagram, which I really liked the variety of environments of:

Anyway yeah, full 19 backgrounds in order below, enjoy:

Many of these are quite unfinished as I did stick to the hour limit for most, but some I did go over (in particular the ones I put at the header of the post were more like 3-4 hours)

A lot of these were pretty heavily referenced so I'll make a post on main with all the refs on and reblog with a link to them (as you can't add more than 30 images on a tumblr post </3) but yeah that's what I've been up to. I realise this isn't what most people followed for but it's been the big art thing I was doing for a lot of December and it was a meaningful process for me so you're all getting it on your dashes, sozzles!
