HUGE STORY UPDATE!
Now I don’t know why nobody has been talking about this but this is huge and I want you to see it.
Tumblr media
So this woman is chanting demonically and chanting the name of a very specific horror, keep this in mind.
Tumblr media
Upon chanting a second time, with her hood down so her face is revealed, we see her pupils flood with glistening black and watch it spread to the rest of her eyes.
Tumblr media
Our first time seeing Avacyn in the Avacyn Restored set has her with her gothy emo eye liner but pure white eyes.
Tumblr media
Seeing her again, albeit much weaker, we see her in a core set with her eyes still very white.
Tumblr media
Notice something? Her eyes are pitch black in their entirety, just as the woman possessed with demonic power from WotC’s story “Under the Silver Moon” So maybe our deranged, “kill all sinners” style Avacyn is not just an Avacyn gone mad but more realistically an angel who has been possessed by the horror that has been gaining power through their followers. ~Mishra
Hello, new admin here, Ashnod!
I wanted to take the opportunity to add on to this theory with additional supporting evidence as taken from the image below:
Tumblr media
Here we see Jace in possession of Tamiyo’s journal, in which is written an incomplete (as suggested by the ellipsis) entry that reads: Entry 434: There’s more to Avacyn’s madness…
Could it be that Avacyn’s affliction is not madness at all, but possession?
It is known that Tamiyo was studying the effects the moon has on the inhabitants of Innistrad “from werewolves to angels.”  Once the natives started displaying increasingly irregular behavior (e.g. madness, delirium,) Tamiyo must have noticed that there is something deeper going on than simple moon phases.  Avacyn was once held in high regard, as such it is safe to presume that an angel of her caliber would not be susceptible to madness nor delirium, being a victim of her own mind, but rather having her body consumed by another entity.  A more effective way to infiltrate the “mind” of an angel.

Photos of mine from GP Detroit!  I know they’re not the best quality, but it was great to help run another GP in my local backyard. :)
Note:  The two overhead pics are both saturday, but the last one is much later in the day! Side evens winding down, and the main event much smaller.

So does Vines of Vastwood just give a creature hexproof? If not, what's the difference between the two different abilities?
Not quite.
Tumblr media
Vines of Vastwood protects the creature from being the target spells and abilities of opponents of the player that cast it, not necessarily of opponents of the creature’s controller.
When you cast Vines of Vastwood on your own creature, then the creature has hexproof in all but name.
Not actually having hexproof can matter, though. For example, the effect of Bonds of Mortality’s activated ability won’t remove Vines of the Vastwood’s effect from a creature.
Also, if you lose control of of a Vines-ed creature before Vines’ effect wears off, you’ll still be able to target it and its new controller won’t be able to.
This leads to the biggest distinction between Vines’ effect and hexproof: You can use Vines to counter spells that your opponents cast that target their creatures. For example, if your opponent goes to play Become Immense on their Blighted Agent, you can cast Vines targeting the Agent, which will make it an illegal target for Become Immense and thus cause it to be countered.

Magic: the Gathering - Hanweir Chronicle
Interesting link just put up by our fav MTG fiction writer Doug Beyer on his Tumblr Page (http://dougbeyermtg.tumblr.com/) linking to a new Tumblr account called ‘The Hanweir Chronicle’.
If you recall, the two of the main villages in the Nearheath are Estwald and Hanweir. Estwald is the center of woodworking in Gavony and part of the Wittal Parish. Hanweir is the agricultural jewel of Gavony. Hanweir is the site of the largest open-air market, the place where livestock are traded and trappers from Kessig bring their wares. Hanweir is in Videns Parish, and the River Kirch runs through the village, making it a bustling port where goods are brought in from the other provinces before being transported up to Thraben by horse and cart.
It appears from this lovely fictional newspaper article, things are not very pleasant in the countryside at all.  Love to read more when Doug (or the mystery writer) posts more.  For now, here’s some awesome artwork from the double-sided Hanwwier Watchkeep and Ban of Hanweir.

SO much content in the MTG fandom today.
First, FTV: Lore was announced, with this cool set symbol and art:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next there’s a countdown clock on the Shadows Over Innistrad homepage set for 3 days from now with the headline “Unravel the Madness”.
Tumblr media
Also, there’s an official tumblr page called @hanweirchronicle that seems to be a sequel to the letters from Innistrad campaign.
Tumblr media
And finally, there’s an official pronunciation guide for several cards that will hopefully become a long series:

Hi, I was wondering if you can search for Wastes with Myriad Landscape? A friend believes that you can, but I don't think so since Wastes have no basic land type.
Thank you for the intriguing question. I actually had to check with quite a few people to make sure that I got the right answer. (In the end, I had to email @tabakrules himself to get the answer straight from the rules manager.)
Tumblr media
So… Wastes doesn’t have a land type. This means we can’t search up two Wastes with Myriad Landscape since they don’t share a type with each other.
This leaves the big question of can we search for one Wastes? The ruling on the Gatherer page for Myriad Landscape makes it clear that you can search for a single basic land with a basic land type, but is having a basic land type required to be found at all?
The answer to that question is no. The land type requirement is only a comparison metric and thus only matters if you’re attempting to put two basic lands onto the battlefield with Myriad Landscape, so searching for a single Wastes is allowed.
TL;DR - You can find one Wastes with Myriad Landscape, but not two.
