As phones are getting smarter, we are getting dumber. The amount of injuries resulting from phones has been drastically increasing over the past decade. This reminds me of a technology dystopia

This article discusses how Pichai becoming the new CEO of alphabet is ushering Google into its third era.I really like this quote from the article: “If the first era of Google was developing the technology, and the second era was growing to a massive scale, the third era is contending with the effects of that scale.”

With music not being the differentiator between streaming services anymore, its interesting to see what music streaming services are coming up with to entice users. I love spotify and would not switch to Apple music, but it is interesting that Apple hasn’t done something like this considering Apple is known for having exclusive product features

Google’s black friday deals will include discounts on the PIxel 4, Pixel 3a, and nest products among others. These discounts will begin on November 24th and last until cyber monday. A lot of these products are heavily discounted which is nice for consumers, but I don’t necessarily like how a lot of these deals are beginning before thanksgiving

This article raised a lot of good points about Alexa like how people still don’t fully trust Alexa and why it has not moved onto smartphones. Alexa is probably the best known voice assistant but if it doesn’t work on its functionality it might get overshadowed by Google

I really like the size of my mac book air but I want to try typing on this macbook and see if it really is better. Also I think it would be cool to have better graphics and better speakers. However, apparently it is already on sale; I wonder if it will be profitable for apple or not

big big big yikes on this one. Obviously its not a good thing when anyone feels depressed or lonely but we need to look into other, human resources instead of replacing human interactions with robots. Right now robots are not developed to replace interactions with friends or loved ones and I hope we never reach the point when they do.

Kinda salty that Disney has made its own streaming service. I like a lot of the shows that are available on them and will possibly get Disney + but I wish I didn’t have to pay for yet another streaming service

Android changing text messaging could actually increase their competitive standing with Apple. The green text messages and inability to be in group chats are probably the #1 reason why people choose Apple over android so if this changes it will be interesting to see the impact

I wonder if Whole Foods and Amazon Go are not as profitable as Amazon expected them to be and how this will compare

This article states that the trust issues “follow a number of episodes of employee dissent on issues ranging from workplace culture to Google's projects for the US military to efforts to build a censored search engine for China.”I generally think of Google as a wholesome company so I really hope it doesn’t become like facebook in terms of trust issues and moral bankruptcy

This article says that by 2029, we could have human footprints on Mars, an established base on the moon, and possibly know which worlds besides Earth host life. It is interesting to think how a lot of the things that we think of as science fiction can become reality as technology advances

Based on this, it seems like 5G is not where it needs to be yet. I think its cool that companies are working on providing 5G but honestly at what point do we begin to not notice these improvements

kinda crazy that the Pentagon is using cloud storage. When I think of the Pentagon’s information I think of top secret information and the cloud seems kinda sketchy

This article says that researchers have found ways to get personal data from users using their standard development interfaces. Most people joke about smart speakers eavesdropping on you, but it actually is a real threat to privacy that we as consumers need to be aware of.

I’m not opposed to technology making things easier such as letting you forgo lines and pay online but for some this may be frustrating. Many people in older generations either do not have smart phones or do not know how to use them correctly.
