back from the dead! how about a mini update!

well, i'm calling it "mini" even though a lot of things were added... that's because i haven't made a full progress report or posted this to reddit or sent out the email newsletter. i'll make a big update about it a little later. for now, have a looksee! here's a list of everything that has been added in this video:

Group stuff

- i put in tabs on the homepage that let you filter your feed to only show posts from certain groups. the plus sign button takes you straight to the groups directory to look for more groups to join.

- there is also a "post in" dropdown at the bottom left of the post form that lets you choose which group to post in.

- groups on this site will be important especially for building community with early adopters, so i also made them easy to get to by adding a "my groups" section in the site sidebar.

- the groups have a number of features beyond just the group feed, including a private forum, private gallery, privacy settings, and cosmetics like changing the group icon and banner.

Profile Stuff

- unfortunately, i can't do full html customisation like Tumblr can, but i'm still trying to add as much as possible! cosmetically, you can change not just your profile image and banner, but the background image of the entire website (when someone is on your profile).

- i'm also working on developing a robust bio section with a lot of fields for people to fill out. almost none of them are required, so anyone can pick and choose what information they have on their profile, and visible to whome (just yourself, people on your friends list, or everyone).

- the bio has a lot of conditional fields to avoid getting too cluttered, so certain fields only show up if they apply to you as based on your answers. please let me know what kind of things you want to put on your bio! i'm a little uncreative when it comes to what sorts of things should be fields...

- in the future, i'd love to add a feature for system littles to be able to easily switch between different profile information, but that's not in a mini update like this. maybe it would also be fun to extend changing the website background to group pages too. just some stuff to think about.

i was quiet for a long time, but please don't give up on me! even if i don't say it, i'm still working on this project. :] it is something i truly wish to come true, even if it takes a long time.

Message to all littles!!!

PLEASE be careful about strangers on the internet!!! I know, I know you’ve gotten this conversation probably a million times by now… but seriously. Listen to me VERY closely.

You should not be sharing (or at least shouldn’t have to feel like you have to be sharing) all these sensitive and private parts of yourself.

A HUGE reason why most people don’t talk about the ugly parts of their age regression (Such as accidents, tantrums, meltdowns, etc.) is BECAUSE of weird people on the internet who sexualise those aspects of others or themselves. It’s painful and upsetting, yes. But that includes being safe about posting caregiver applications.

I (unfortunately) still get HUNDREDS of NSFW accounts and DDLG accounts interacting with my posts! Which, sucks, but my posts are rarely related to my age regression itself (at least the posts that those accounts interact with.)

Think about it. Do you REALLY want and feel comfortable about your most vulnerable and innocent part of yourself being left alone with a total stranger on the other side of the screen?

(The answer to that should be no, Little ones.)

I am a bit of a hypocrite to this as my caregivers are online and whilst they have proven themselves to want what is best for me and we have both shown our vulnerabilities to each other, it does not change the fact that these people are still strangers on the internet.

Posting “looking for a caregiver!” Applications is essentially saying “Would someone be okay with a child/teen/a vulnerable and younger version of myself messaging you?”.

Age regression does not necessarily mean that you have to be naive or overly trusting. Think about it like this, would you feel safe showing or asking someone to do an activity with a physical baby? If the answer is no, you shouldn’t request it for your own age regression!

So, again, PLEASE be careful! You do not need to post sensitive information about yourself or your safe space!

Chell as a Regressor with GLaDOS as a Caregiver from Portal

Since Chell already doesn’t speak, it’s rather difficult to tell at first glance when she regresses. However, GLaDOS is familiar enough with her testing methods to notice the difference. She gets distracted more easily, and once had a very close call when she apparently tried to play peek-a-boo with a turret.

Ever since, GLaDOS has kept a careful eye on Chell’s testing speed and focus, and whenever there is a significant dip below average, she will make a point to either replace any turrets in upcoming tests with defective ones or remove them entirely. Acid pits will also have to go, just in case.

The aerial faith plates stay, though! In fact, they are added in excess. Chell loves flying through the air and bouncing on them like a trampoline.

Once GLaDOS set up a testing chamber that was just one really long chain of faith plates going back and forth across the room and it honestly was hours and hours before she could convince Chell to move on to the next one.

GLaDOS had to install a wireless override/child lock for the portal gun to turn it off herself because little Chell will make those infinity fall tunnels and then get stuck and make herself sick.

Every cube becomes a companion cube to Chell when she’s little. She’ll go to them or spawn them right from the beginning of the chamber and then carry them around the room as she solves the test, then pitches a fit when she can’t take them with her to the elevator.

GLaDOS is still adamant about the testing rules even when Chell is little, so these tantrums over the cubes get very tedious. It’s partially a safety issue, and partially that GLaDOS doesn’t want to set a precedent that Chell can get whatever she wants just because she’s little.

Whenever Chell throws a particularly bad tantrum over the cubes, GLaDOS makes sure that the next test doesn’t have any cubes at all. If Chell can’t be safe and follow the rules, then she doesn’t get to play with the cubes, simple as that.

However, whenever she is good about leaving them behind, the next chamber always has more cubes and even the special mirror cubes with (alternative, non-lethal) lasers to play with as a special treat.

Chell notices this pattern over time and starts “putting the cubes to bed” at the end of each test, tucking them safely right next to the door and pretending to tuck them in for nuh-night. It helps her cope with having to leave them behind.

After a while of good behavior with the cubes, GLaDOS surprises Chell with an extra-special treat in the next chamber: all the cubes ARE companion cubes now, complete with the little heart design! Chell gets so excited over it and ends up playing with them in the chamber for hours, stacking them up and climbing on them and everything in between.

When she finally does finish the test properly and gets ready to leave, she almost throws another tantrum when GLaDOS reminds her that she can’t take the cubes with her. She’s huffy over it for a minute, but eventually tucks all her cube friends in the corner to put them to bed like she learned to do.

She’s happy to discover that every cube in every chamber she’s little in after that continues to have the companion cube design.

Are we all aware of what a coping mechanism is??? Are we all aware that involuntary regression doesn’t care how big and tough and strong you are on the outside??? The difference between regression in most media and what we make is that we explore the idea to its fullest potential and let them use regression as a method to heal without judgement.

If you think only characters who look “cute” are allowed to be small I am begging you to understand that it doesn’t work that way in real life either! All littles deserve to regress!
