Nothing new, but I have some old stuff I never got around to posting. So here's a concept of the mountain tribe's home

Eye of Stars was also partially a rewrite to include more worldbuilding. One aspect of that is that precious minerals are the best to use when communing with spirits. The entirety of the interior of the tribe's caverns are made of the stuff.

Fun fact: it's the same mineral the quarry that later makes up Thunderclan's camp was for. The people were looking in the wrong place and missed the whole ass mountain full of it.

One of the ways that people make fun of originalist interpretation of the constitution is "séance with the founding fathers", but damned if I don't think that's the coolest possible premise for a legal system.

There are a bunch of guys floating around in the afterlife, and the government has a whole branch devoted to communing with them to get their interpretation of an increasingly-distant society that has moved on in terms of science, culture, and demography? You have to explain to Madison what a router is? You sit Hamilton down and break the news of 9/11 to him?

So many places you can go with the idea, it's really solid from a worldbuilding perspective. There's even a term for it, necrocracy, rule by those who have died. And it bakes in all these conflicts about the direction of the world and who has the ultimate say in what happens next.

And every time I see someone deride originalism with "séance with the founding fathers" I get distracted by the worldbuilding of it.

Scrolling through my old Dark Mirror Au work instead of studying and damn. I was really having fun then. I see why I changed it, but still.

I need to make Firestar unapologetically evil again. He was so fun like that. In fact, maybe he should try to take over the clans with Misty. Have you seen them when left to their own devices? Tigerstar would've destroyed them if he wasn't there.

Let them maim. Let them kill. They're staying friends instead of being mates, but I want them to make each other worse. Mistystar builds up his paranoia while he makes her more prone to violence.

I am still getting rid of Firestar being born with those traits, he becomes like that through a lot of factors.
