Azriel in canon thinks he deserves nothing [“it doesn’t matter what I want” - his actual words in acosf] so he couldn’t even dream of her reciprocating his feelings. And when he finally got the confirmation in the BC [“offer and permission”] he nearly rolled his eyes and groaned out of satisfaction.

C’mon, I bet he’s gonna worship the ground she walks on in the next book and we all gonna love it 😌

"His shadows hide from her/scared of her" they literally helped Azriel gift Elain the necklace and smartly took the box from his hand so he can put the necklace on Elain and hold/touch her with both hands like...!

"But they love Gwyn" no, they don't. Show me one textual proof that the shadows love gwyn. Headcanons don't count.
