Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda
by: Becky Albertalli
Sexuality is a huge concept in society today in America. This is a huge cultural topic and is addressed in Simon’s book since he is the main character. What I really like about this book is that Simon is human, he has faults and gets embarrassed just like any other teenager.
The story also doesn’t focus on just Simon. Becky did a great job making this story about Simon but have the people around him have their own lives. I thoroughly enjoy having smaller stories interwoven within the book.
I had some what of a hard time to sink into the story since we jump right in which hardly happens when I read a book. We are literally jumping into Simon’s life, the excitement of his life didn’t start right when we started reading. Like with Leah all the conflicts began before and are drawn back on.

Follow Me Back

Follow Me Back
By A.V. Geiger
Confusion is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this story. Especially the ending, but I’ll get to that later with a warning for those of you who don’t want to be spoiled.
First I want to congratulate A.V. Geiger, I’ve seen this story so many times on Wattpad and I always wanted to read it so when I was at B&N today I say it and almost flipped and had to buy it. So well done.
Now this is a great book, very light hearted at most times and I just love the humorous banter. This books is about Tessa Hart who is obsessed or projectiles this popstar Eric Thorn. However getting to concerts is a problem with agoraphobia. So she fangirls over twitter and seems to be the only one to really see who he is, trapped and scared but most importantly fearing for his life.
The romance in this novel is beautiful and I can’t connect to it fully but on some level I can like being scared of relationships much like Tessa however not on her level. I think everyone with anxiety can relate to the fear of relationships on both ends of the affection since this book does so well in shaping the thoughts and feelings of not just the female character but the male character.
Okay I can’t wait any longer so: SPOILER ALERT!!!
The ending makes me want to rip my hair out! The last three pages made me so confused! Did Tessa kill Eric in her bedroom like the fangirl did to Dorian Cromwell? Maybe she was the fangirl? The suspense of this is killing me because the couple I was rooting for since I read the back of the book could have been a lie. I would have much rather have had Eric be stabbed and then have then run off into the sunset to Mexico together without having to worry about Eric’s contract. I need answers!
Also the page after that! Will there be a sequel of this book or not? It is nessecary for me to know how it ends because I read this book in one sitting. Holy crap what if Tessa’s anxiety went to far? I really need to know.
SPOILERS ARE OVER
Rating: I give this book a six out of ten stars mostly for the ending since it didn’t tie up and I’m not sure if there will be another book. The characters seem developed and have their issues like human beings.
