a single brow raised as she rose to her feet, arms swiftly crossing over her chest. when it came to the older male, the femme was all too well versed in knowing just how untrustworthy he had the tendency of being. typically, kiara would be the first one to try to be as understanding as possible. nonetheless, rafe made it difficult for her. part of her wanted to believe him, that maybe he was capable of change. while the other half of her continued to repeat at an obnoxious volume of every bad thing he has done to her friends, to his own sister who just happened to be her best friend. "why should i?" she spat only to find herself taking a step back, finding comfort in the space between them. "i'm going to REGRET this... but you have five minutes to explain. and it better not be any bullshit lies either."

Licking his lips, he shakes his head and reaches up to pinch the bridge of his nose. "Kiara. . ." A breath is exhaled slowly. "Give me a chance to EXPLAIN why I'm upset and maybe then you'll believe me and understand why." Rafe knows that she doesn't trust him, so why would she believe him either? Maybe this is a dead end, but out of everyone - - - maybe she'll be the one to listen.
