Life Found A Way

A category 5 hurricane slammed into Isla Nublar, destroying much of the infrastructure on the fledgling park. Power was taken out, and much of the park’s security systems were destroyed, allowing the ancient abominations living there to run amok. Dinosaurs ran loose on the island, and in the chaos, most of InGen’s Jurassic Park committee and several others were tragically killed/eaten alive.
It seemed the park may have been doomed from the start, given that many members of the committee seemed to have their own selfish desires that undermined the integrity of the ambitious project:
-InGen’s own VP was secretly developing gases to try and turn everyone into lizard people that she could control (she was herself a lizard person)
-Albanian terrorists turned out to be the main source of labor on the island, calling into serious question InGen’s hiring practices and perhaps explaining why so much of the construction on the park couldn’t survive a hurricane.
-One member of the committee was too distracted by their attempts at romancing John Hammond to do their job
-One member attempted to buy out the entire continent of Africa, then just Madagascar
-Many of the park’s Japanese investors were infighting, threatening to withdraw funding and buy each other out
-There was an ill-fated attempt at creating a breakaway corporation to make its OWN Jurassic Park knockoff
-Committee members were in cahoots with Pablo Escobar
-Deliberate attempts to sabotage BioSyn, as well as a plan to hire someone to assassinate BioSyn’s CEO
-The Pachyderm Portfolio was STOLEN by a committee member!
-Attempts at leaking the Portfolio to the press multiple times
-Brain chips to mind control animals were being developed
-Attempts to overthrow Melissa Schenken
-A lot more tomfoolery

Hot Sauce Diplomacy
Your launch of NCT Hot Sauce was wildly successful! NCT Hot Sauce was a huge hit in Costa Rica! The sauce’s popularity meant the Costa Rican government had no choice but to get off our necks lest they enrage the population even further, so everything is back to normal! I applaud you all on such a creative solution, this is the business acumen John Hammond likes to see from his employees.
Also, your secretaries are pleased with their new working conditions. Their threat to unionize has paid off, and now that they’ve been paid off, the unionization movement has subsequently lost momentum.
Construction is moving forward at the park at a rapid pace! Progress is being made very quickly, which means it’s probably time for a time jump...

Trouble, Here and There
Evidence is piling up from Chile as eyewitness testimonies as well as previously undiscovered bits of physical evidence tying BioSyn and BioSyn executives/employees to the deliberate release of a genetically modified strain of rabies onto Chilean farms. This, in combination with a number of somewhat shady and under-the-table efforts from a number of unknown (wink) sources have tied BioSyn up in such a complicated legal and financial web that the company has no choice but to file for bankruptcy!
InGen’s biggest domestic competitor is no more.
This does not mean, however, that InGen is entirely out of the woods. The Costa Rican government has been tangled up in a number of domestic controversies, ranging from corruption to human rights abuses to suspicion that Costa Rican government officials have been aiding in Pablo Escobar’s drug trade. The Costa Rican people are furious, and their government desperately needs a scapegoat. That scapegoat, unfortunately, is foreign businesses...
Figure out how to get the Costa Rican government friendly with you again so progress can continue on Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna.

Chapter 3: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

TIME JUMP! We’re now in the middle of 1988.
The advertisement campaigns laid out in Dinos Make Dreams and
Also! John Hammond invites (but y’all really don’t have a choice) the committee to relocate for the time being to the newly built Isla Nublar headquarters. He figures stewardship of the park’s construction and development on Nublar as well as development of the facilities on the newly acquired Isla Sorna will be quite a lot easier if the committee in charge of it doesn’t have to worry about geographical distance. Starting with this next session, this committee’s location will be Isla Nublar.
Message for Megan Odell from John Hammond!
With Botch BioSyn, an aggressive but measured smear campaign has been launched against BioSyn detailing the extent of their crimes against the people and government of Chile. Initially, the claims were as baseless as all other previous attempts at placing blame on BioSyn for the rabies epidemic had been, and BioSyn was gearing up to sue. However, a breaking eyewitness testimony from Chilean government representative Sebastian Castillo has shed light on what BioSyn has done, starting things down the path of hopefully forcing BioSyn to face justice for their crimes against Chile.
The Rise Above initiative also had a lot of success in keeping the heat off of InGen in the aftermath of things. (At least in the public eye. BioSyn is obviously still angry)
Also, Construction at the park is well underway thanks to your park readiness directives! We’re getting closer and closer to having a real physical park we can show off, which is very exciting.
Now is the time to invest in expediting our bioengineering tech so that we can have display-ready dinosaurs ASAP! We need to be figuring out how to get ahold of such information like dietary needs, ideal habitat conditions, and things like that. We have to give the dinosaurs an environment to thrive on the island! Also, now would be a good time to figure out how to ramp up operations on Isla Sorna to take some of the pressure off of Nublar’s operations.

Chapter 2: Chaos Theory Pt. 1

An explosion has occurred at a major Southern California power plant in the early hours of the morning, knocking power out across a wide and densely populated area. Affected by the explosion was InGen’s headquarters. Power outages are one thing, but this one appears to have been deliberate sabotage.
Against InGen.
Not only was power knocked out at InGen’s headquarters, but it appears that someone has taken this opportunity to break in to InGen’s headquarters and use the lack of power to break into a secure office to steal the Pachyderm Portfolio. This is not good. If the information contained inside were to leak to the public, InGen could be ruined. We currently have zero leads on the potential location of the Portfolio. What we do have information on, however, is who appears to be responsible for both the theft at InGen as well as the detonation at the power plant.
BioSyn.
BioSyn employee badges and outfits were found left behind at the site of both crimes, seemingly implying that the upstart bioengineering firm and chief rival of InGen is at fault. BioSyn executives vehemently deny and and all wrongdoing or involvement in either crime, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
In positive news, Millipore Plastics was quite pleased with the new suggested takeover plan and has accepted! :) Millipore is now a subsidiary of InGen and work will get underway expeditiously on developing early prototypes of Dinosaur embryos, though this will be a long process.
Also it’s 1987 now.

Your attempt at buying out Millipore Plastics was not impressive. It was short on details and the executives at Millipore were HIGHLY turned off by your out-of-left-field mentions of USSR involvement. Seems they’re big Reagan donors, turns out. Overall, the meeting where the takeover pitch went disastrously and you’ve overplayed your hand. Due to some personal intervention by John Hammond, they’ve agreed to keep the failed plan under wraps for now, but if another, more comprehensive plan that satisfies their needs is not proposed and soon, it’s highly unlikely Millipore would sit on such a lucrative secret for so long. Not when InGen has so many competitors who would pay a premium for such information, after all...
Jurassic Park cannot exist if we do not have a way to incubate dinosaurs. Develop a stronger, more detailed and comprehensive plan to buy out Millipore Plastics by the end of this committee session.

Your Two Dinosaurs!
Your efforts in amber mining in Japan and Kaliningrad have been successful in turning up DNA samples of two different species of dinosaur! If we are able to get ahold of Millipore Plastics successfully then hopefully we’ll be able to get going on developing the dinosaur embryos ASAP!

Chapter I: Spare No Expense

Potentially viable amber reserves:
- Dominican Republic
- Burma
- Japan
- Kaliningrad (Russian exclave/Oblast)
InGen cannot at this time afford to obtain mining permits and extract amber from all four of these reserves. The committee’s first task is to select two of these reserves to focus our efforts on at this time, with hopeful expansion to the other two later. Our Research & Development team has highlighted some key pros and cons of each of the four locations:
Dominican Republic:
-Pro: High likelihood of dinosaur-era fossilized amber, possibility of a number of different species discoverable here.
-Con: Warm climate leads to higher risk of genetic inviability of mosquitos. Also the most difficult to safely mine.
Burma:
-Pro: Expansive amber reserves, very accessible and probably the easiest to mine.
-Con: Rumblings of political instability, may not be a long-term option.
Japan:
-Pro: InGen’s established relationship with Japan makes this perhaps the easiest and cheapest reserve to gain access to.
-Con: Japanese amber is not especially durable, finding viable specimens may be difficult.
Kaliningrad:
-Pro: Extremely durable amber, perhaps the highest likelihood of dinosaur era-amber.
-Con: While relationships between the USSR and the USA are thawing, this may be the most difficult reserve to gain access to.
MILLIPORE PLASTICS
Once we have our DNA samples and are able to begin incubating our dinosaurs, we are going to need something to incubate them in. Finding a synthetic material that is going to be able to replicate closely enough the makeup of a dinosaur egg will be difficult! Fortunately, there’s a small plastics start-up named Millipore Plastics that we believe has the capabilities to develop the eggs.
We’re going to need to acquire the company so that we can have the eggs made as our demand requires. This is easier said than done, however. While acquiring the company is not necessarily an insurmountable financial burden in and of itself, we cannot let our acquisition make any noise. If any of our competitors (such as BioSyn) catch wind of this acquisition, they may be able to start piecing together the project we’re working on right now. This will severely hamper our competitive advantage.
SO! I need you all to draft an offer to acquire Millipore that is good enough for them to accept, but also convincing enough that we can ensure the details of why we are looking to buy them out won’t be leaked. We need to make sure, through financial means or hopefully more creative means, that keeping the details of their partnership with us a secret is MORE valuable than leaking our secrets to our competitors. They’ve got eyes everywhere!
