thinking of censorship and Gutenberg's printing press and theses on the wall and Bibles translated from Latin and the way Daniel and Louis's book represents a destabilization of vampire hierarchy re who is allowed to hide the secrets of the vampire mythology and control vampire futures (a continuation of the work Claudia began with her diaries and research, recording and investigating everything that older vampires kept hidden for the Greater Good). she's punished for sharing those secrets, but the records live on, and then they're shared with the world via the in-universe iwtv book. and then Louis continues that shift of informational power with his "I own the night" broadcast, creating the unstable environment that makes Lestat's rockstar escalation possible. all of which, of course, can only trigger further violent backlash the way expanding channels of information always trigger violent backlashes from the powers that be.
