I don't hate trans people.

I hate medical malpractice. I hate the medical industrial complex. I hate the grooming of children. I hate that traumatic reactions to misogyny are treated as evidence of a woman being trans. I hate that having a gay/lesbian fetish is treated as evidence that a person is trans. I hate that the identities of marginalised groups are treated like a fun trend that people can opt into. I hate when marginalised groups are forced into cultural colonisation/gentrification in order to make way for people that don't belong to them. I hate that sexual coercion and violating people's boundaries has been pinkwashed as woke and progressive.

I am irritated by the fact that a lot of the trans community is willing to put their head in the dirt about issues in the trans movement rather than speaking out. It speaks volumes to me that so many consider discussing the above points as "transphobia."

As to trans individuals themselves, I am supportive and respectful, so long as their motives aren't corrupt, misguided, or ignorant. That's the baseline.

I think what a lot of people don't realise is that she deliberately marketed herself as a lesbian to her audiences, garnering her followers off of that basis. Almost every post she had was talking about her experiences as a "lesbian."

Agreed the biphobia is uncalled for, but I've seen multiple influencers do this, and can't help but feel like the "lesbian" label is a marketing method for them until their needs are served and they can safely shed it. It feels very commercial and disingenuous.

An influencer recently realised that she's actually bi, not a lesbian and got awful responses, lost all the support she had, got accused of being a straight woman who lied and got told she was queerbaiting and doing it all for attention and views

A lot of you non-black radfems just don’t care that Taylor Swift publicly said she loves her ex-boyfriend after he came under scrutiny for saying his favorite thing to watch on the internet was a porn show called ‘Ghetto Gaggers’ in which groups of White Men rape purposefully young looking what they call “ebony teens” on camera.

I know we shouldn’t hold women accountable for what the men around them do but she literally got up on stage and even though her fans were literally BEGGING her to speak up about this and break up with him, since she was so quick to speak out against the young black girl who made a joke about her music on Netflix and how that was in her words ‘sexist’… She still said she will always love him with a big fat smile on her face. Then collaborated with the young rapper he publicly said he would like to see on the show. Mind you this is the first and only time she has ever collaborated with a non-white woman. You lot are disgraceful and a shame to radfems.

This is actually horrifying. The thing that never happens, happened.

I remember my mum was friends with a "gender counselor". And that said gender counselor talked me out of being nonbinary and into being a trans man. I assumed that since they were a professional they had to be right. So I started wearing my binder more often. Almost every day in fact. Sometimes for more than 8 hours because I felt so dysphoric (don't do this. I ended up with chronic costochondritis). I dressed masc. I got an endocrinologist so I could start T. I tried changing my voice through vocal training videos. I got a top surgery referral. I was doing everything I thought was right.

I was miserable.

It took years to undo the brainwashing she put me through. Making me something I was not. Making me second-guess everything about my identity. It was horrific. She would constantly use he/him pronouns for me. She would constantly refer to me as a man. And she would correct others if they used they/them pronouns for me.

After she was arrested I spent some time really thinking. Why was I so dysphoric all the time? I stared unraveling the rope she used to tie me up. And I found that she was wrong about me. I wasn't a trans man at all. I was nonbinary! The identity I started with. I started using they them pronouns again. I let people know that I wanted to be referred to with gender-neutral terms.

I feel so much more confident in myself.

So I guess the moral of the story is don't let anyone tell you who you are. You know yourself best. Your identity is your journey. Don't let others move you in directions you feel uncomfortable with. You'll be alright. You've got this.
