I'm not even a massive Phoebe fan or anything because I'm too much of a bastard who likes to feel niche and whatever, but I have to admit Phoebe and boygenius definitely fall into the category of popular indie pop artists that I actually enjoy as a kind of guilty pleasure.

Also, not necessarily because I'm queer and Phoebe Bridgers is a queer icon, just because this is my first post of the month: HAPPY PRIDE!!!

Haven't uploaded music in a while, but here's a song I wrote recently. I uploaded a really bad horrible one-take-whatever-it's-good-enough piano demo last week, so here's a slightly better version. If you're an introvert who has so much going on in their little world, but you're too scared to show that world to everyone else even though you desperately want to be known and understood, here's your song!!!

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day! This is my cover of my favourite song from my favourite scene of my favourite show. If you've seen teotfw, you might know what I'm talking about, if you haven't seen the show, I'd highly recommend it. It's such a beautiful, funny, touching show. The scene with this song is engraved in my mind, and the wonderful music choice is one of the main reasons it's so impactful. I hope you like my cover, thank you so much for listening :)

hello! I hope you're having a good ol' lovely day! it's been a while, but I just uploaded a new song to soundcloud.

I think I got too excited and went way overboard with the description in soundcloud, so if you want the full story behind the song, you can read that (also, the lyrics are there if you want that, too). basically, it's about returning to childhood aspects of self and embracing them as integral parts of your identity. I describe this with my specific experience of being content as a loser loner freak who goes to the library and whatnot, but yeah, read the soundcloud description if you want that story.

I wanted to use acoustic and electronic sounds a symbolism for real and artificial parts of identity. the song goes from piano-driven, to a weird synthy bit, then returns to piano to reflect a journey of straying and returning to your true self.

Hello! I hope you're having a nice day. This is my new song on soundcloud. It's about the complicated relationship I have with my mum.

I think it's just a societal expectation or even an obligation for a parent and child to love each other. It seems like a bit of an obvious thing, but as I've gotten a bit older, I've started to change my thinking towards authority figures, really seeing them as their own conscious being; realising that they're individuals too with their own emotions, complex minds, and a whole history behind them. I've realised that they're not scary tyrants who want to rule over my life, they're just people. We're all just people.

Over the years I've really struggled with my relationship with my mum. However, I'm realising more and more that it's just as much a struggle for her as it is for me. Maybe I was just too young to understand that before, or maybe I'm just a horrible child, but I think we're finally getting to a point where we're trying to understand each other; starting to love each other for who we are and not just out of stilted obligation.

I hope this song can help anyone with a similar experience. Thank you so much for listening, it means a lot to me :)
