after 1 month of watching so much Gravity Falls... here is a doodle of Ford Pines reading the Silmarillion, because it was published in the USA in 1979 and therefore this is technically possible.

reading the book does not affect his decisions in the slightest. it just makes the show funnier. to me.

Reading about the Second Age: "Haha! I would totally be able to tell if I were being manipulated by a demonic power with an eye motif who was using my skills and knowledge to further his goal of world domination, and who would go on to carry my body around as a trophy! Right, Bill? Right?"

More than thirty years later, Fiddleford looks him dead in the eye and says "you got Celebrimbor'd." Ford has to take a moment (fifteen minutes) to scream into a pillow, because how the hell does he remember THAT???
