3.) A Bestiary- art + fic featuring journal entries based on mythological creature encounters, “written by” your favorite Naruto characters. It’s going to be SUPER fun!

I drew a short comic about Naruto meeting Taru for the first time. Here’s part 2.

Here she is, a Naruto OC I created ages ago. The granddaughter of the Land of Fire’s Feudal Lord, the Lady Tatsura.

In order to strengthen The Land of Fire’s alliances, Tatsura was betrothed to a neighboring country’s heir when she was very young. However, an enemy found out and sent out assassins to kill the girl and prevent the union from ever taking place. The Feudal Lord then placed his granddaughter in the care of The Third Hokage, to keep the girl safe and hidden until she came of age.

Meanwhile, in the Leaf Village, Lord Third has received countless complaints about Uzumaki Naruto and his escalating, delinquent-like behavior. The hokage knows how desperately the young boy craves love and attention, but nearly all the villagers are too poisoned by their own hatred and prejudice to even give the boy a chance.

When he receives the request from The Feudal Lord to hide Tatsura, he has an idea so ludicrous it might just be genius. The princess, knowing nothing of Konoha’s history and having no connections in the village to influence her, would have no reason to despise Naruto. The young princess needed an alias and a place to hide. Naruto needed a genuine connection with someone who could accept and see him for who he was.

The Third Hokage decided to hide the princess in the one place no sane person would ever think to look for her, amidst the rank of the Leaf’s shinobi, under the alias of Saito Taru, Uzumaki Naruto’s long-lost cousin.

More of my BNHA OC, Kimiko Bakugou. In case you can’t read my terrible hand writing, I’ve included the captions for sketches one and two. Sketch One Kimiko: “If he were to apply that technique to his quirk, the range of his attack would significantly increase.” - In the AU in which Kimiko exists, she and Bakugou were practically conjoined at the hip when they were little, but unlike her brother she genuinely liked Deku and remained friends with him throughout their adolescence. Deku: “Whoa! I didn’t even think of that!” Sketch Two Kimiko: “I was like, guess what genius. If you touch a hot surface, you’re gonna get burned!” - The two share a close friendship. Katsuki and Kimiko had a falling out right around the time he started really bullying Izuku. Kimiko resented how her older brother treated their childhood friend, and chose Izuku’s company over Katsuki’s. Disclaimer: I’m not going to revisit Naruto to type this down. This is fueled by childhood memories, the wiki, and anger.

And FUCK kishimoto for packing team 8 to the brim with potential for everything and just simply not doing a single thing with it. You build them up as a group of weirdos; a shy, meek, quiet girl and a strange, cold, and even quieter boy foiled by a confident loud-mouth who loves them both. You give them a specific skillset, and a beautiful colour scheme, and throw them into the forest of death to become literally like the first team to outright kill someone. but okay, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s start from the top.

Kiba Inuzuka, super under appreciated Naruto character that deserved more than he got. It honestly really tore me up how Kiba was reduced to a half-baked side character who never really achieved anything he wanted to. After the chunin exams Kiba isn’t ever really regarded as a strong shinobi. Which is pretty sad, especially since Naruto barely beat him in the prelims. He had so much more to offer than that! It would have been way more interesting if Kiba continued to grow in strength and power. He could have been an actual rival for Naruto, competing for the Hokage title. What would’ve happened if after Naruto left Kiba became Kakashi’s student? There could have been some enormous, OP wolf summoning or a wolf sage mode! Not to mention an actual rivalry between Kiba and Naruto would push both characters to grow and develop. This also could have given Naruto another purpose in Shippuden other than obsessing over Sasuke. I will always love the Naruto series, and Kishimoto did an overall incredible job.
