“Yes thank you dear.”
One evening, Lina comes to the door to find a tall, brown-haired girl dressed nicely and holding flowers, a truck parked in the driveway. The girl looks like the glimpses of a girl she’s seen dropping Novie off recently, and the truck does match
“Ma’am? I’m here to pick up your daughter,” the girl smiles politely, offering a smaller bouquet of flowers. She’s got a southern twang to her voice and is completely and utterly polite, on a level Lina’s shocked to see coming from anyone under the age of sixty
@november-bishop
Lina has a suspicion that this is the other Novie her daughter briefly mentioned one evening but she keeps silent.
“I’m afraid you’ll have to be a little more specific dear.”
She notes the flowers, her favourite wildflowers and quirks an eyebrow.

“Perfect.” She smiles, strikingly similar to Novie’s smile, and takes one out of the fridge.

“November, do you like lemon meringue pie?” Lina asks, while Wyatt helps her clear the plates.

Look this is really long winded but I just really needed to scream into the void about this.
Excuse my ranting, I’m sleep deprived and S.A.D is setting in (it’s winter here)
Basic Premise: FUCK YOU JK ROWLING and any other hate spreading, discriminatory fuckheads
Potential triggers below, take care and skip if you need <3
Seriously. Fuck you. I don’t know what happened that made you start spewing toxic hatred into this world and while the better part of me hopes you heal, learn and grow, the angry part of me is still screaming and can’t wait for karma to catch up with you.
Fuck you for poisoning and tainting what was once my safe space. Something that brought me the greatest comfort. My escape.
I was 9. I had read everything else in the library. Except the available Harry Potter books that were for Grade 6’s only. The school made an exception due to my reading comprehension ability (heey gifted ND). A weird, nerdy, booksmart loner being bullied every day.
I saw myself in Hermione, in Luna and even in Ginny. I finally could relate to something. It was my gateway to finally connecting with some of my peers.
I devoured all those books, my mum read them as well and it became something we bonded over. The movies too.
I was proud to call myself a Ravenclaw, loved complaining about the lack of merch. I took every sorting quiz I could. I made oc’s and wrote and self inserts and moodboards and decorated my room.
When I finally got to Universal Studios, where did I spend most of the day? The Harry Potter section. When I had a sensory shut down and had to be physically carried out of the Walking Dead, where did my best friend take me to calm down? Harry Potter.
Do you think I get the same comfort now? No. Not without a sick twisted feeling.
Because despite what Daniel Radcliffe said about the sacred bonds between stories and readers, I can’t understand why you choose to spread hatred and discrimination.
I feel like I should clarify that I am not transgender. But I don’t think that’s hugely relevant here. Because Transgender Rights Are Human Rights. LGBTQIA+ Are Human Rights.
People just trying to live their best lives as their true selves free from discrimination, hate crimes, violence and fear. Why is that so terrifying?
A transgender person existing does not threaten you or your life. But a transphobe spewing disinformation, discrimination and hatred? That is a threat. To a person’s identity, safety and life.
Tumblr media
These statistics (from Australia, my home, not proud of this data) are from the LGBTQIA+ community. It is far more common for victims of violence and abuse to continue to be victims rather than become perpetrators.
To those of you who say ‘I dOn’T cEleBrAte’ when Pride Month comes around.
Fuck you. This isn’t a holiday, this isn’t Christmas or Eid or Hanukkah or 4th July or Thanksgiving.
Pride is a protest, a movement, a voice, a revolution, a celebration and a reminder.
Love, courage, empathy, kindness, acceptance and unity will always be stronger than hate.
