Meet Nikola! I've always loved the idea of Ford getting a service dog for his PTSD post canon, but I haven't seen any art depicting him with one so I decided to design one myself :) She's a German Shepherd trained to perform a myriad of tasks to reduce anxiety and paranoia, interrupt nightmares and dissociative symptoms, among other things I hope to detail in a series I want to work on.

rewatching Avatar is so weird because Sokka is literally the only thing keeping them alive and fed. He constantly is like,

'guys we're out of supplies/ we need to stop/ we're attracting too much attention with the flying bison we should walk' etc.

Like in the ´The Storm' when they're completely out of money and supplies the one to get a job in hopes of making money (he never actually gets paid, the world hates him) is Sokka.

In 'The Waterbending Scroll,' it's Sokka who's concerned about their lack of supplies when Aang sends them in a wave down the river, and is making sure they're careful with their spendibg when in town shopping.

He's also seen to catch fish and gather nuts (I know more often than not he fails to catch things on screen but it's implied he's the one that does most of the hunting and gathering)

It's like- Aang totally would have starved to death or gotten completely off track with often they're completely out of food and money

Darcy’s introduction in Pride and Prejudice is really ‘what if you had just had the worst month of your life because your ex-bestie tried to lover boy scam your baby sister out of her share of your dad’s life insurance and your friend dragged you to a shitty party in a dive bar in the neighbourhood where he’d just signed a short term lease, and you decided to let your bad mood show because you were never going to see any of the assholes in this stupid shitty bar EVER again. And your friend ended up making out with a girl he’d just met there while you were stuck talking to her sister who was less cute and then her mother appeared and started trying to matchmake and started saying how if she was twenty years younger she’d clime you like a redwood and ooooh is that a black Amex, guess the next round is on you hahhahahahaha, while her other sister (how many fucking sisters does she have?!) flashed an obviously fake ID at the bar and ordered six vodka-diet red bulls and no one in her family except the less-cute sister even tried to stop her. And you went home and consoled yourself that you would never see any of these people again but then you met them over and over again because they live next door and your friend and the cute sister keep meeting up to make out but not actually date and then. You fall in love with the less-cute sister because it turns out she’s really witty and charismatic but she already knows and remembers and resents the fact that on a day when you were in a shitty mood you called her mid out loud in a dive bar.’

Here's the thing. I thought the Luigi manhunt was a fun national moment and he is objectively very, very hot. I enjoyed following it at the time and I'm not going to pretend I didn't lean into the moment for a fun reprieve from deep inner angst after the election. I can't say I even have any sympathy for the CEO.

But this crackpot, tinfoil hat conspiracy that he's the subject of some deep psyop or being persecuted like Jesus or whatever these online freaks are going on and on about is so fucking grim. Like he's not going to fuck you! You all sound like you're part of QAnon at this point.

With more and more Ao3 authors restricting their works to the archive (due to AI scraping), they're going to be losing guest interaction. And probably generally feeling down because. You know. AI is stealing their hard work.

I mean I know a certain level of projection on fictional characters and situations is inevitable and even healthy, but sometimes you got to step back into the real world to remind yourself that Character X is not your shitty parent/abusive ex/asshole boss/bully from high school, and that people who like Character X are not personally victimizing you.

There IS better autism research they could be doing, like trying to discover other medications that help with sensory issues and quality of life problems and trying to get better childhood diagnosis rates for autistic girls. But no, the decades long useless search to find out what causes autism and how to eliminate it continues. The push for “autism research” is never really about how to make things better for autistic people, it’s about how to make autistic people stop existing and that is nottttt possible. But they’ll continue to fixate on it.
