When Beelzebub's design was revealed, people defended it by saying that making her fat would've fed into problematic stereotypes. However when Mammon was revealed, and was written as obsessed with food to such a disgusting degree, even the sin of gluttony was grossed out, nobody said anything? What happened to worrying about problematic stereotypes then?

Ah, but of course that would mean seriously questioning Viv's writing decisions, and we can't have that. People only brought up the concern about stereotypes so they could use it to defend Beelzebub's character design. Since that isn't the case with Mammon, no one really cared anymore.

Really not sure if this double standard is due to fatphobia in the fandom, the fandom's need to defend the show and its writers, or both.
