3am, a dark time, my favourite time, my time to relax and forget. As an evil octopus scientist who is taking care of his assistant, it is hard to get some time alone. Every week or so, ill bathe. My favourite night of the week, mostly Sundays. The bath is set is as warm as a campfire on a cold summers night. Well, i dont actually know what that feels like but that is how imagine it. Anyway, during this time, ill overlook my thoughts and the pain thought that raised my attention was Joyce. “Was i in love with her?” Maybe? “Would she love me?” Unsure. Then suddenly i thought of what she always would say about me, my personality, my attitude, my looks? All positive compliments. One thing she would always repeat was, “i wish you could see how i see you Dave, the beauty inside.” This comment confuses me. How am I beautiful? Then i decided to look in the mirror. Her voice popped into my head again, “you are beautiful.” Tears flowed down my face. Was she telling the truth, am i actually beautiful? Is Dave the Octopus not a monster?

The morning after:

(Joyce POV)

A sunny monday morning. The start of a new week. Its been 2 weeks since ive been in Daves care. An octopuses care. Quite a smart octopus, a octopus with a delicate yet presious personality. As soon as i sat down to embrace the morning, Dave came up to me, tearing up. Suddenly he hugs me, breaking down completely.

“Joyz, Thank you…” Dave spoke in an appreciative manner.

I was confused to say the least but i was in the position to comfort him.

“Hey hey, for what?” I said, while hugging back.

Dave spoke, tears running down his face, “as if you dont know Joyz…i mean…Joyce…”

Dave corrected himself? He would always call me “Joyz” never “Joyce.”

“Fine, if you dont know, figure it out yourself two tenticled but for now..” he teared up, “Hug me…”

That morning, my two week anniversary of being kidnapped, Dave and i just hugged eachother, Dave needed it and honestly, so did i…

Lair sweet lair

The room, cosy yet dark. Joyce loves it clean, squeaky and shining. Joyce sleeps on a queen sized bed surrounded by pillows and a weighted blanket to top it off, all purple of course. Dave needs to bathe water regularly and he gets his daily amount during his sleep. It’s quite a big tank, coral and rocks inside of it. Joyce decided to add some LED lights to give his tank more ���glam” as she called it. This, oddly enough, helps Dave sleep especially when the lights are red. The decor around the room? Mostly snow globes as well as some scientific-like posters and spider figurines. This place is what Dave and Joyce call their main lair. Their comfort place.
