Fred and George Weasley have the exact same personality, they don't feel like two separated characters but instead like one character split in a two-person hive mind, they don't have any kind of distinctive traits, beliefs, or actions that differentiates from each other. They aren't twins, they are clones. Which narratively undermines Fred's death because then as a reader you don't really lose anything if one character dies when you have an exact spare copy.

Whenever I see a post of someone trying to argue that they are different their examples fall flat because you can switch their names in any of their interactions with other characters and they wouldn't feel out of character. And it's such a pity because they do have an interesting and funny personality, and it would have been so much better to see their differences, like maybe have harry talk to each one individually about the same topic and have them say and think different things. Or have them have a disagreement on something, they don't have to fight necessarily just have a different opinion or approach on a subject and discuss it.

One of my absolute favourite things about Silco is the fact that he has the classic villain trope of monologuing at every given opportunity, but the characters around him actually respond to that. It's Jinx saying "you've told me a million times" and Renni saying "let me guess? Jinx will take care of it?" and Vi saying "you talk too much". Personally I find 'monologuing villain' to be an extremely annoying and tired trope most of the time, because generally it's used as a cheap tool to shove exposition down the viewer's throat or buy the hero time to escape. But with Silco, it doesn't feel like that at all. It feels like a genuine, core character trait of his, one that has a legitimate in-universe explanation and actually influences his relationships. He's a deeply traumatised man who's hung up on this one incident that made him feel totally weak and powerless, and he will have his voice be heard or so God help him.
